2014 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of the Last Hope for Image Quality

I don't think you'll see many from me. Here's a few crappy ones I did while testing out some crap (fixed cam + fov).

Creating a script to freeze the camera in place was easy (so you can freely move your character around or just get him out of the frame). Getting the coordinates to update is trickier. Same with FOV. Might play with it more later but for now I got bored. This game just looks really bland to me most of the time :(

Is there any way to alter the FOV used during regular gameplay?

I've been enjoying your RM shots. Having the freecam work during cut scenes would have been really nice. One thing you can do during a cut scene is to "drop" the camera as it is running and you have that new POV for the rest of the scene. If you reload from the checkpoint just before the scene you still retain the "dropped" camera view. It requires some patience and possibly going through the scene a number of times to pick the best spot but you can get some unique viewpoints this way. The below shot was possible with that method.

Thanks! I've used that method a few times, Like here, but the amount of planning for something like that is a bit much. Most of the time, I'm not so lucky with it, and don't always have the patience to remember where all the actors stand. One day, after my 30th play through (give or take) I may try using that method more often. In the meantime, here are some more shots!

These are all using the 2K Hi-Res Nilin mod from Nexus.

With cheat engine, yes. I can change it just fine since I know how to get to the value but making a reliable table that anyone can use is another story. The script to grab the FOV value just needs some fine-tuning. I've been unable to nail it down so far...

I'll give it a shot again after work today.

I finally received and installed my new r9 290. Had to reinstall catalyst and Now cru only lets me go to 1600p (through dvi) is there a better option? How are you amd users getting higher resolutions?

I just reinstalled windows after editing my registry. It worked at first, all the HD resolutions showed on the change resolution display. When I launched a game and choose a resolution higher than my default monitor(1440p), the screen showed 3 to 4 inch scan lines across the screen. what did I do wrong?

His expression is hilarious!

Yeah, it's awesome to find these little details in games.

That one looks so flawless to me. Would you happen to have it in 1920x1200 res?

I happen to have the raw. Most of us here keep the raw, non-downsampled files. All one need do is ask!

I also can give you the original image in PNG Format, so you can crop/resize it how you wish!

Careful, though. It's 32MB

He never shares anything.

Doesn't Unreal have a blog where he/she shares things?

Trying to figure out the best method to downsample this game. GeDoSaTo works but I'd really like to be able to apply shaders (such as sharpen) to the pre-downsampled image instead of over the top. Changing the resolution in the .ini file works fine but hobbles the framerate.

Thanks a bunch, will add it to desktop background rotation.

Unreal linked me to the Skyrim foliage he was using, just have to ask, seems like a pretty cool guy/girl.

Not sure if this will help you, when I had the game installed, I had in-game AA disabled, injected some smaa, and downsampled with custom resolution via nvidia control panel. Some good results. I wish I took down some notes, I made some other graphical adjustments but I can't remember what they were.

Edited: some really terrible spelling mistakes.
