Broncos will lose because they won't be allowed to rough a white QB.

Funny you say that because Luck got fucking wrecked by them last year and beat them in the 4th with fucked up ribs, a busted kidney, and a hurt shoulder.

They took a ton of late shots, and would hit him even after he would slide on a scramble. If you're mobile or just a big fat fuck like the Steelers QB they are gonna hit you and hit you hard.

I don't remember, did the resulting penalties help them win?

No that was by far the easiest pick of the week. You would have to be an imbecile to pick a Jeff Fisher coached team against a Chip coached team.

What? But only one person in our 50+ person league picked the Niners and .07% of all Yahoo Fantasy users. Easiest pick? Doesn't seem like it.

I was telling people all week. Chip with all that time to prepare was going to embarrass Fisher.

What did Chip prepare? It's not as if he's changed up his offense depending on his opponents. That's like the biggest knock I had on him.

He didn't need to prepare to the the Rams though.

If you count Talib being a dumb fuck on the very last play that wouldn't have resulted in anything then yes?

Those hits on Luck weren't called.

So, it's not racism and instead a check cleared? That's less disappointing I guess.

I don't understand. You don't think the 9ers had a good game plan last night to beat the rams?

Life is good.

No Burfict this week either!

Hopefully we can put he Bungles down without any injuries and keep the win train going.

I see the Bungles putting up some points on us. Offense will have to come to play.

Yeah, buried in the twerk-tacular win last night was the fact that we got pretty much zero pass rush on Cousins, the Redskins were constantly putting themselves into long yardage with false starts (at home ffs) and we'll continue to be without Dupree vs. the Bungholes.

All of that being said, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't very interested in seeing Coldnoodle's Manifesto 2.0.

Edit - on second thought, it wasn't Coldnoodle. Who was that crazy Bengal fan last year who blew a brain fart all over the thread when Burfict and Jones lost that game for them?

They had a good game plan to beat the Rams because Chips offense was capable of beating the Rams. I didn't see anything from their offense that was customized specifically to beat the Rams, because I rarely if ever saw Chip change any aspect of his offense to address a specific teams weakness. His offense became predictable for that reason.

Dammit Boban!

In the first half, when the Niners were more aggressive, they ran a lot of lateral plays (even in their inside runs) that took away the Rams' biggest advantage (power). That seems like a smart thing? We'll see how the Niners adapt week-to-week but they stymied the Rams vaunted front 7 with ease yesterday.

Safety Reshad Jones followed up a great 2015 campaign with an impressive Week One showing. His PFF.com grade of 83.9 represents the fifth best at the position. He was equally effective in the running game (83.7) as in coverage (83.2), which is a good sign for Miami, because he has typically excelled in the run game and struggled some in coverage over his career.

Even with his outstanding grade, Jones was not Miami's highest-rated safety. That was Isa Abdul-Quddus, who PFF grades at 84.7 overall, giving him the fifth highest grade of all safeties. Abdul-Quddus had a pass coverage of 85.5, which is the highest coverage grade of the 74 safeties PFF graded this week. week.

The safety combo of Jones and Abdul-Quddus represents the only pair from the same team rated in the Top 10. Adbdul-Quddus is No. 5 and Jones is at No. 9 this week.

Well I think we finally found another safety

A lot of Chips offense is horizontal and lateral, though. It relies on speed to get to the outside or make a guy miss. There is a reason there are a lot of negative plays in this offense -- it's not easy to make people miss in the NFL.

I wanted to push the ball downfield a bit more yesterday. Gabbert doesn't really take shots, but I hope we take a few a game.

I was really impressed by Abdul-Quddus while casually watching the game. Seemed like he had a ton of range and was always around the ball.

The entire philosophy relies on having better athletes than your opponents. Works great if you're playing the Oregon State Beavers or the Los Angeles Rams, but it'll be a problem against everybody else.

Exactly this. It worked in Philly with DeSean and LeSean, but we are pretty barren at skill position players right now so I have a feeling it's going to get ugly soon.

But the Rams have a legit defense...

On this note i'm going to point something out:

There was a ton of (rightful) outrage for this late hit by Steelers center Cody Wallace last year. I'm not going to excuse it, it was a dirty hit. That said up to that point in the game the Broncos were getting really chippy with Steelers players, up to and including Antonio Brown, the player being tackled at the beginning of the clip. The chippyness stopped with this hit.

We talk about dirty plays and dirty players annually in here. There's tons of that in the league, but let's be honest - many of these hits are players dealing out field justice. I said this last year when this happened - Wallace is Marty McSorely to Antonio Brown's Wayne Gretzky: you fuck with my guy, I fuck with you. Field justice happens in every sport with every team in every era.
