80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

Don't really feel like searching the entire thread so here it goes:

Ever heard of Nightsatan and the Loops of Doom?

Nightsatan+front+cover+web+2.jpg

They are a Finnish trio that bring Eighties inspired electro/synth-pop. (I really don't know if the genre labelling is correct 'cause this is not my kind of music, although I like these guys).

You can check out their first record at their label's Bandcamp.

They also made this 24 minute short for some reason. Here's a trailer for that if you are interested.

Wow, this is pretty dope. I love these sorts of albums that are almost like the soundtrack to some lost film. Protector 101's latest album Wastelands is kinda like this. Thanks for posting it!

well the album IS the soundtrack to the short film, if you buy it you get the movie on DVD and an audio CD. Really cool project! :) And the film is completely spoken in italian and has boobs and lots of gore :D all set in a post apocalyptic future.

Starts off with Bohren & Club of Gore. Already a god-tier mix haha.

No download option blows, though.

Thank you, people of this thread, for introducing me to Miami Nights 1984 and Dance with the Dead.

Looks like I might actually buy this, then!

I know artists like Pertubator are highly regarded here so I'll #treadlightly

Can anyone reccomend some of the more warm/optimistic sounding artists? While I enjoy the likes of Carpenter Brut, Power Glove and LazerHawke, I find the "dystopian" sound a little monotone after a while.

For reference, a couple of single tracks I've stumbled on recently and enjoyed, both give you an idea of "my thing."

Dream Fiend - Paradise

Lud Simms - Vapor Funk

FM Attack - Million Miles Away

There's a certain kind of chubby bass in these that I love.

Maybe try Onra's Deep in the Night EP. My favorite from that is L.O.V.E. — it's a pretty straightforward sample of Slave - Share Your (L.O.V.E.) — and see where that takes you.

Check out Timecop1983's newest album: https://timecop1983.bandcamp.com/album/journeys-2

It's more feel-good summer break than cyberpunk dystopia.

edit: Sellorekt/LA Dreams is pretty good for that type of vibe also: http://ladreams.bandcamp.com/album/vivid-colors

Definitely my preference as well. There is a time and place for most of the stuff that gets mentioned here, and I like most of it, but I preference the sort of upbeat, summer loving, driving, care free, love life and dance sort of stuff in this genre.

A couple rec's of the top of my head maybe you'd like..

Unpredictable by Sunglasses Kid

My favourite artist might be Vincenzo Salvia, some terrific stuff. Auto Radio LP by Vincenzo Salvia

Really there's a whole bunch of stuff really that I could list, and I'm sure others will to!

Really wish Rain Sword would release more stuff as well, just because I think Heart of Light might be the greatest thing ever. Rain Sword - Heart of Light, Dreamer is an awesome track too.

Nice to see someone of like mind. I like a bit of everything; for example, my most eagerly anticipated release is Carpenter Brut's new EP in December. But it's summer (here at least) - and it's Friday! So I'm more in the mood for warm sounding stuff.

Thanks for the recommendations by the way, I'll add those to the stuff I'm working through.

Here's some artists you might like in turn.

Capo Blanco - https://soundcloud.com/c_a_p_o_b_l_a_n_c_o‎

Engarde - https://soundcloud.com/engarde

Adeyhawke - https://soundcloud.com/adeyhawke

Just came across Sair as well today; if you like a bit of funk on the side you'll like this.

Also check out Moustache Machine if you haven't already.

Oh my God, really? The first one was one of the best music compilations I've ever heard.

Is it wrong that I am more excited about this than I was about Dangerous Days? Nothing against Perturbator's music, but his taste is godtier.

edit: Haha first track is from Bohren & Der Club Of Gore's Sunset Mission, which I consider a criminally overlooked masterpiece. Off to a great fucking start, just as expected.

Just bought Le Cassette's Left To Our Own Devices album.

Awesome stuff and quite diverse in terms of style. Here I Am is so amazing, the vocal/synth combo is godlike.

Thanks for the heads-up, and it's on Spotify too!

Great vocals so far.

Damn, every album you guys recommend turns out to be great. Best thread ever.

D/A/D/ - The Contruct released little over a week ago.

Awesome album. Cool combination of upifting vocal tracks, heavy synth beats and some ambient soundscapes. Image link refers to the cassette/CD page, this is the digital album page.

Not in love with some of the vocals, but the music on the Le Cassette album is top notch.

I don't know why, but I'm not really a fan of this sort of music with vocals. Always preferred instrumental stuff.

edit: goddamn, a lot of people bought this album on bandcamp. Pretty huge list underneath the "supported by" section.

Sorry for the late reply, but just saying thanks for the recs as is always the case in this thread, some good stuff here. I'll check them all out eventually.

I really love Dance With The Dead's Out Of Body.

Most tracks on their album are too electric guitar-ish [I really hate that], but this track is amazing.

Cool cover art too, haha.

I know I am late to the party on this, but I just want to thank you for pointing out the bolded. Avoided checking this out before, but what you hate, I really love. The entire album might just be the greatest thing I've ever heard. Loving it from start to finish. Need to check out their newer release as well.

FUUUUUUCK. Gritty as hell haha, super awesome. After Wasteland and this, Protector 101 is my new hero aside from Perturbator and MegaDrive.

Album is "name your price" so you could potentially pick it up for free, but don't be that guy man.

Glad I could be of service haha.

New Mitch Murder video: Interceptor

It's in the same vein as Perturbator's latest (videogamey animated pixel art).

If every single synthwave artist out there starts putting out videos like this, I'm not even going to complain. I don't think I can possibly get enough of this shit.

I've always ignored this thread - I'm more a chillwave, shoegaze type.

But Capo Blanco own one of my favorite songs at the moment:
Capo Blanco - Синева

Great song.

Yeah that video was totally awesome. Some indie dev should collaborate with this guy for a videogame, dude's artstyle is incredible.
