80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

new NightStop EP is pretty dope, won't link the album art due to slight NSFW :D
https://nightstop.bandcamp.com/album/loaded-with-love-ep

best track by far is this one, dare you to resist the urge to bust out some dance moves!

OH, also listen the new KN1GHT track,

I know I am late to the party on this, but I just want to thank you for pointing out the bolded. Avoided checking this out before, but what you hate, I really love. The entire album might just be the greatest thing I've ever heard. Loving it from start to finish. Need to check out their newer release as well.

then you're gonna love what they are doing now! :D

Someone posted a link to their Spotify a while back. I'm not sure if your GAF name is the same, but Vanguard Orbital has a dope fucking selection on Spotify. Whoever this is: you've made my life significantly better ~ THANK YOU

Dance with the Dead is turning it the fuck out.

Bought album from Waveshaper and Timecop1983 there very good! :D

FUUUUUUCK. Gritty as hell haha, super awesome. After Wasteland and this, Protector 101 is my new hero aside from Perturbator and MegaDrive.

Album is "name your price" so you could potentially pick it up for free, but don't be that guy man.

Insta buy that sounds amazing!

and i'm organizing a bigger live event of some of these badass artists here in Helsinki:

if you're in scandinavia(or europe) please consider popping over for an awesome event :D it's is in an old warehouse that's decked out with a Funktion One soundsystem.

Waveshaper and Robert Parker are bringing in several synthesizers, drum machines and the works to play live. Synths are all on top of old oil barrells and we have a projector screen and 6 CRT TV's besides the stage for VJ to do magic on :D

New Mitch Murder video: Interceptor

It's in the same vein as Perturbator's latest (videogamey animated pixel art).

If every single synthwave artist out there starts putting out videos like this, I'm not even going to complain. I don't think I can possibly get enough of this shit.

Oh man, love this, thanks.

Just re-watched the first Terminator: damn the soundtrack it's just too good.

And the imagery.

I just wanted to share some 80's love xD

See you all at Technoir.

Love this stuff!

I'm a bit of a DAW amateur, been messing around with Subsynths, PCMsynth, PadSynth, FMSynth, 8-Bit, a Modular, a Drum kit with about 1000 old and new kits and this stuff is inspiring! Wish I could make this kind of stuff!

My stuff is pretty crappy, but I'm trying to get better!

That's a sick cover! Going to give the album a listen right away.

Edit: first half of the album is kinda so-so, but then it turns into this dark monster. That was awesome.
Edit 2: Nice surprise, the album comes with two awesome ultra-high resolution digital posters. Super cool!

Btw, I read on Perturbator's Twitter that he already has 15 tracks near-finished for a next album. I love how most of these guys just churn out albums so regularly. It's probably going to take a while before they're done, but still.

It's a good thing that there is new stuff always in the works. But i'm always quite wary as the quality of the tracks might be very mediocre if any artist just pumps out full lenght albums once a week.

Dangerous Days is good but there is a bit too much repetition within the same songs. I hope Perturbator doesn't rush out his next album. In any case I'll be happy if we get Android Love Mixtape III!

A lot of their stuff actually does fit this style yeah, now that you mention it... I think especially Implode and Millennium! Oh man. So good, Re-Wind is also superb. Yeah definitely shit to check out.

Front Line Assembly is possibly my favorite band along Skinny Puppy (also love Front 242) but it's not really close to this genre honestly. Too raw and industrial.
I actually wanted to make a topic about early industrial stuff (including bands like Kraftwerk or Cabaret Voltaire) or recent EBM / dark electro but I can't yet.

Tactical Neural Implant is a masterpiece though, yes. But I really like ALL of their albums. 30 years of work and they didn't slip, they changed with the times without ruining themselves. Echogenetic is basically a dubstep album but you can tell it's FLA.

saw Kavinsky this weekend, really fun show even though it was just a laptop gig. Played most of the Outrun album with small variations to some tracks.

I've been listening to a lot of Mitch Murder's newest album. Loving it. Though surprisingly it's not up on bandcamp at all from what I can tell. Ended up grabbing the digital version on Amazon. Also, the art is great:

There's something about his production that I really like on here. It's not too smooth, but it's also not quite as gritty or as dark as like a Perturbator or Protector 101. Good balance.

Yeah, he is on a relatively large label now so only itunes/Amazon etc :p

Dunno if this is the best place to ask, but anyone have any idea what artists I can listen to that are similar to Cliff Martinez? I really dug his scores to Drive and Only God Forgives.

Have you checked out Symmetry (by the guy who was originally going to score Drive)?

Check out their album "Themes for an Imaginary Film". Two hours of goodness very similar to that sort of vibe.

I made this gif while messing around with the new youtube tool (simply add gif before youtube in the URL) and this thread seems like the most appropriate place to post it...

Been listening to this for a bit
https://garoad.bandcamp.com/album/va-11-hall-a-prologue-ost-sounds-from-the-future
Soundtrack to a yet to be released indie cyberpunk bartender simulator
Has a very 80ish cyberpunk anime vibe too it, like from AD Police or Cyber City oedo 808,
I'm digging it.
Thanks, there's some cool tracks on there. I definitely get a vgm vibe from them for obvious reasons.

It wouldn't be Dance with the Dead if it didn't go in hard, swinging hooks like a madman.

Every track has been killer so far. edit.. Midnight Never Ends... just randomly ends, not sure that is right. ah well

edit again: God damn Andromeda is fantastic as well.
