My friend says the firealarm went off in Åhléns and when everyone went out the truck came.

That's often my nightmare scenario, that they'd use the crowds created by our safety procedures against us (see also: any lost luggage in a train station).

I think it was probably the Glasgow bin lorry disaster that showed how much damage one vehicle can do. I can't think of any similar attacks before then.

Public service television SVT are now reporting that Swedish police are treating the incident as a possible terror attack.

That was actually an accident. Or at least it wasn't a terror attack. You're right though it was another example of how tragic vehicular collisions can be.
