Ads in exchange for no load times and cheaper games in next gen consoles?

I didnt insult any audience if u call that an insult then u must be living in a cave or havent really been insulted before and try to make strong points other than cheap shots, microtransactions and lootboxes are damaging because it totally destroys the experience in fact its fraud im not asking anybody to pay extra here uts simply 15$ plus ads or full price without ads
Try to make actual good points instead of repeating yourself or just admit you were wrong.

Dude if they put ads in games they'd still keep them at $60-70 and give excuses about how they need to do it to make enough money

Not offense OP, but this is one of dumbests ideas I ever heard.

As if they would not include another catchy practice on it.

I'd like to agree with the others and say this is a terrible idea, there is a reason if adblockers are on the rage on internet browsers (unless you use chrome... in which case, i suggest you discover Firefox asap), and that reason is that our entire reality is filled with ads. We live in a fictional world nowadays, so it's maybe time to tone down it a bit, not throwing grenades on our sanity.

Other than that, a couple of other problems with your (it's important to state it again) terrible, terrible idea:
  1. Ads = loading, means you could (and will) put loading screens even where not necessary.
  2. Others have noticed how slippery these slopes are in gaming. Ads in loading screens would mean opening the Pandora's Ad Box, and make way to even more aggressive marketing techiques.
  3. It's marketing people we're talking with here, these drones know no limit and no good faith. I work in marketing and I hate it (and that's why I use adblockers).
There is no good side, no good path down the road, and no real benefit to the consumer in the short or long term. Horrible, horrible, really horrible idea.

Never will I buy a game that includes ads. And if that becomes the standard, that is when gaming stops for me and I go retro.

Read the post properly i said its optional u pay 15$ for a 70$ game but u get ads on loadscreens or no ads if u bought the game at full price 70$, since nextgen consoles wont have loadscreens!

The thread is literally titled "Ads in exchange for no load times and cheaper games in next gen consoles?"

Ok so i got an idea what if you can play most next gen games for less than half the price say 15-20$ for a 70$ game but the catch is youd have to watch ads as load screens or in game menus or checkpoints!

Im saying this because games are too expensive now dont know much about europe but growing up in africa everybody loved the ps2 because it could easily be moded and play pirated discs and this is really what pushed the sales of the ps2 and pcs, not going to lie gamepass is a hero going forward aswell fact of the matter expensive entertainment doesnt sell.
Games are cheaper than they have ever been when you consider inflation. Even if games made you watch an ad or two before every level in Doom (for example), the ad revenue would be nowhere near enough to make the game $20. You might be able to save $10, tops, and that's not worth it.

I would not want to play games if there were ads. Talk about immersion-breaking. As well, I play games to relax and ads are annoying.

WTF is up with OP talking about this as some undeniable truth after making a thread to gather the forum opinion?
Hey OP, the thread backfired, don't get so bend over it. At least make rational arguments instead of "dur dur you are all in denial, because i think so"
I did make a rational argument the thread is my opinion n its people like u who dont understand what an opinion is, im not trying to bend u over n plug my ideology into ur bum hole im simply making an opinion whether u like it or not is not anybodies business.

Im a man n i stand with my idea whether u hate it or love it n it didnt backfire ur just forcing it to.... So move along.
I honestly don't see any good side to this not even one, Most people rather wait for a price drop rather than suffer through ads for cheaper game and also most of us gladly pay full price for our games because we want support our favourite developers and our favourite hobby. This idea is as bad as loot boxes and microtransactions, it will make entire gaming industry feel cheap and shitty, I'm sorry it just a terrible, terrible idea.

Theyll probably have different deals with ads companies depends how they go about it im simply saying if possible ill get myself a copy of nextgens doom for 15$

Is this an astroturfer that can't spell?

What's your angle? Do you get paid by the post? Why don't you stop when no one agrees with you? Trying to trick search bots?

Ps: no. Would you like me to find a post I made in the past to prove I am not mob influenced to disagree with your idea?

All good points. But the OP only cares about buying the game at a huge discount. Just like mobile gaming, it's about instant gratification, only you're not paying money to disable ads in that brand new AAA game like you would in a mobile game since you have to include the ads in the loading screens first. And with that money saved not paying full price for GTA VI or God of War 2, you can buy another game with ads, and another, or maybe some groceries.

There's already tons of product placement and blatant ads in full priced sports games, the same model simply doesn't translate to other genres so easily without breaking the immersion. I remember being disgusted with Monster ads in Death Stranding, but it's a Kojima game so of course it'll get a free pass.

What is the point in showing commercials to people who have no money?
Do u think rich people watch commercials, commercials are for poor people so they can go spend every bit of cents they have to keep making rich people richer its how economies work, do not kid yourself that ads were invented for bill gates to watch!

If you mean in-game ads like advertising certain brands while characters walk around town or interact with people or even car brands, this has already happened years ago.

No fucking ads please. Just make normal good games like dark souls 3 I am replaying right now. Amazing graphics and one of best games ever right after ds2, bloodborne and ds1 of course (only then half life 2 but close). Btw ds3 graphics are bonkers in 4k. One of most underrated visually games this gen.

In fact. I am so tired of seeing jedi fallen order youtube ads before every god damn video for 2 months straight... Many times every day. Sometimes also in middle or end of videos. For this reason alone I am not going to play it. I hate it alredy :p

Oh, if this is case, then it's a non-issue. OP, the solution exists already and it works wonderfully: just wait a couple of months before buying a game. Buy it at 20 dollars. I do it all the time and it works beautifully.
There's no need to find these solutions in desperate need of a problem.

An expensive game will some day be on sale or get old enough to be able to get for cheap.

A game with ads in it's code will probably always have ads as long as it exists.

In conclusion, fuck no.

Get an understanding i didnt say ads in every game i said ads if u bought a game for cheap say 15$ for a 70$ game but if u bought fully at 70$ then u wont have ads, watching a 5 second ad for a loadscreen isnt stupid as waiting for a game to be discounted after 6 months.
