Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed coming to PS4 in NA this holiday (PS3/Vita 8/12)

Well I'll probably get the vita version anyway just to help show vita support but the ps3 version takes a backseat now, especially with the later release date

I don't know if I'll even like the game!

XSEED is really pulling out the guns lately.

Still on the fence about getting this game, but I'm getting more and more tempted.

Will probably buy the PS3 version though, since I've got no interest in the PS4 atm.

Changes from the PS3 version would have to be significant for me to wait until I get a PS4. Though it does come out on the same day as Disgaea 4 and a week before Tales of Xillia 2 and SAO. Decisions decisions...

I feel like announcing this before the PS3/PSV versions ship will only hurt the latter's selling potential.

PS3 version, maybe, but I can't see it affecting the Vita version too much -- those who wanted to play it on the go are still likely to go for that version, even over the PS4.

Plus, we didn't want PS4 owners buying the PS3 version only to have us announce the PS4 version a few weeks later or something, as that would just be kind of shady, you know? Better to let people know all of their options right off the bat. If we could've, we would've announced the PS4 version even earlier.

Nice of yall to be a bit less shady instead of trying to get people to get both. Any idea if we will get something for owning one of the earlier versions?

Props man, a lot of publishers would've just released the game and then announce the other version.

I'm still in for the Vita version. I've wanted this game on a handheld since the original came out on the PSP way back when. I may double dip for the PS4 version if I enjoy the Vita version enough. Either way, more choices is only a good thing.

It looks pretty bad. Low res textures and there's aliasing all over the place, they could have done a lot better on the PS4.
You can see more here: http://youtu.be/OBty7ljdC60

It's not pushing the hardware, but it doesn't exactly look BAD. And it certainly looks better than the PS3 and Vita versions, which is really the claim people were making here -- the resolution is much higher, the lighting and shadows much cleaner and (not visible in screenshots) the framerate much smoother.

This isn't really a game that's intended to sell on its graphical fidelity, though. You're either buying this for the fanservice (in which case you'll probably be a little disappointed) or for the humor and funfactor (in which case you'll probably be pretty happy). ;)

Also, PS4 version will be physical AND digital, and the pricing for the PS3 and Vita versions is $39.99 (physical and digital). PS4 pricing will be announced at a later time.

Wow that's low considering other reviews have not been near as bad. Could you give a rundown of what they disliked? I would guess the outdated graphics and shallow fighting system. Maybe a few points removed for just being weird.
To translate the bad (according to Google):

- The loading (yikes, if they complained about the PS4 loading, which is suppose to be faster, I wonder how it is on PS3/Vita)
- Camera "paper-crafts" (I assume bad camera control)
- Unusual Ugliness
- Concept Repetitiveness
- Difficulty Sawtooth (I think this means the difficulty can suddenly jump from one chapter to another)
- "Dripping Moe"

They can't have the ps4 version yet since I don't think the JP version is released yet Edit: My bad was released in July. So they are talking about the loading in the ps3/vita version. I love that google actually translated something as dripping moe.

Edit: Thanks De_Legend so basically the same complaints that Drakengard 3 got.

What if I both love the humor and funfactor and I also find fanservice very funny? Is it my dream game?

Are there JoJo references, like poses and shit? For some reason I want it to have.

The PS4 version came out July 3rd in Japan. (it also sold pretty badly in Japan too, lol)

I've already paid off the Vita version at GameStop. Can't wait!

Also, is Senran Kagura SV still slated for Sept, on Vita?

Need to know, so pay that off too ^_^

It's honestly not that bad. The game only loads when you switch to a different part of town (and since there's fast-travel, this typically only happens once before any given story scene + battle plays out), and it lasts maybe 5-10 seconds on Vita and PS3 (3-4 on PS4).

If this happened more often, it might be a problem, but it's so infrequent that it's pretty much negligible. My guess is the reviewer couldn't read Japanese, and thus either didn't realize you could fast-travel, or was just aimlessly running around Akihabara from city block to city block without ever stopping along the way to actually do anything.

A lot of the reviewer's complaints, in fact, seem like they'd be resolved simply by being able to read the text, since so much of this game is carried by its likable characters, tongue-in-cheek story and general sense of humor.
