Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed coming to PS4 in NA this holiday (PS3/Vita 8/12)

They can't have the ps4 version yet since I don't think the JP version is released yet. So they are talking about the loading in the ps3/vita version. I love that google actually translated something as dripping moe.

Edit: Thanks De_Legend so basically the same complaints that Drakengard 3 got.

You're welcome, but let's not forget, Gamekult is very rough when they do reviews.

After reading the description, you literally beat people up then strip them of their clothes? That sounds like something off of P4RGaming.

They should've waited a month or so, from a business perspective.

Maybe from a business perspective, but as Tom said above we didn't want anyone to feel like we "tricked" them into buying the PS3 version if they would've preferred the PS4 one. Our biggest concern for when to announce the PS4 version was being able to give people enough warning to buy the version they really wanted to buy... and only having to buy the one they really wanted.

They did test the PS4 version.

And my traduction ain't Google, lol.

Weird I wonder why they used the american subtitle on the ps4 version. I wonder if the loading is bad on the other versions or if this is a case of just throwing the game on ps4 and calling it a day. But yeah for a vita game the score would probably be a little better since the graphics are fairly good for a handheld but blown up on ps4 probably does not do it any favors.

It's honestly not that bad. The game only loads when you switch to a different part of town (and since there's fast-travel, this typically only happens once before any given story scene + battle plays out), and it lasts maybe 5-10 seconds on Vita and PS3 (3-4 on PS4).

If this happened more often, it might be a problem, but it's so infrequent that it's pretty much negligible. My guess is the reviewer couldn't read Japanese, and thus either didn't realize you could fast-travel, or was just aimlessly running around Akihabara from city block to city block without ever stopping along the way to actually do anything.

A lot of the reviewer's complaints, in fact, seem like they'd be resolved simply by being able to read the text, since so much of this game is carried by its likable characters, tongue-in-cheek story and general sense of humor.

any word on this coming to EU like the PS3 and Vita versions are?

Sounds like it, considering they probably couldn't read the objectives as to what to do next and therefore spend a good amount of time trying to figure out how to advance the game.

In any case, it sounds tolerable if it doesn't happen very often.

Edit: Oh yeah, is there cross-save between Vita & PS3/4? I could have sworn it was answered before, but I couldn't find an answer either here or on Google.

'Fraid not. No cross-buy or cross-save -- it's whatever version you pick. Sorry!

Since the ps4 version has all of the DLC included cross save could be a little tricky.

Edit: Tom answered so no cross save.

Akiba's Trip and Disgaea 4 Vita on the same day...

Famine to feast in just a few weeks.

Edit: not a complaint. I am looking forward to picking up both day 1. just need to figure out which I want to play first...

Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited, Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1. Don't get me started on September.
My amazon pre order list is gonna need a lot of editing, gonna have to scrap some stuff. This one I'm getting for sure, it is the first title to open up the "go broke or go home" season. Then there's natural doctrine, Xillia 2... How the fuck am I supposed to play them all.

Not having cross-save is a little disappointing.

Does the different versions have different trophy lists then?
According to Playstationtrophies.org, the Vita, PS3, & PS4 versions all have separate trophy lists for both the JPN & Chinese versions. I assume the same will apply for the US & EU versions.

Like Tom said, it's not that bad. The reviewer was probably expecting something like Grand Theft Auto in terms of open-world exploration. Each street is divided up into their own little areas that need to load when you travel between them.

There are also markers showing you exactly where to go for the next part of the story, if the dude was getting stuck, he was probably bringing the wrong character with him to actually advance the plot.

So... What is this game? Someone try to sell me on it.

It's pretty much a game making fun of the whole moe thing, it's supposed to be fun to play and very funny, and, from what I've been reading, they did a fantastic job localizing it.

Tom does a pretty damn good job talking about why he likes this game, so it's possible he'll already have posted his text by the time I click Submit Reply.

We aren't sure yet but we're looking into it. The PS3 and PS4 versions do have the exact same trophies though; no additional trophies in the PS4 version.

I also have a question, is this the actual release date, as in the day it'll be available at stores/delivered to us, or is this the day that you guys are shipping the game out to retailers?

It's a nice act, coming from a niche publisher that I just adore, but it's definitely something we wouldn't see from a company like Square-Enix.

Which is why XSEED is so based and I'll continue to give them money.

Sony should implement gifting and wishlists on PSN, I'd buy a lot more XSEED games when they go on sale.

Plus, we didn't want PS4 owners buying the PS3 version only to have us announce the PS4 version a few weeks later or something, as that would just be kind of shady, you know?
-Tom

Good on you guys. I was tempted to pick this up but a bit antsy because PS3 or Vita. PS4 makes this a lot easier to think about.

I have the PS3 and Vita versions pre-ordered [in the same order, along with a couple other titles] and it's impossible to switch out the PS3 version for the PS4 one. I pre-ordered it during the E3 Best Buy/Futureshop deal in Canada. it looks like I'll be owning all three, if I don't go through the hassle of returning the PS3 one.

More Akiba's Trip is never a bad thing!

as long as the in-game age of consent isn't being breached i don't see a problem

Yeah, claims like that come from a place of ignorance, as the characters in this game are literally college-age or higher with very rare exception. And even in the case of those very rare exceptions (the most notable of which is the main male character, who is only 17!), the stripping is played for laughs and is 100% non-sexual the whole way through.
