Remedy afraid?

The team that brought us Control a female lead action game.
The team thats giving us Saga Anderson, whos half of Alan Wake 2 is black and is female.

The anti-woke crowd would be upset with Mona Sax if Max Payne 2 came out today because shes a female analog to Max Payne and they would obviously complain that a female being as good as Max Payne doesnt make sense.......but fuck dem kids.

The combat looks really dull and encounters seem to consist of walking in a straight line and dude jumps out. I want to buy it because I loved Control but nothing about the gameplay besides some of the "puzzle" elements looks terribly interesting to me.

Very curious to read reviews and impressions though, I really want this to be a homerun. Absolutely love Survival Horror.

Obviously doesn't look as refined as the PC Path Tracing shots but looks good nonetheless.

My question is, whether this is from the Quality mode or Performance mode. If this is the Quality mode, then a lot of obvious upscaling from lower resolutions is going on here.

The game must be pretty heavy on the resources.
 
My body is ready for this. Had a blast with Alan Wake and recently finished up Control which had its talons in me. Can't wait for more artistically impressive visuals and trippy experiences. Between this and World of Horror tomorrow I'm going to be in heaven and hell.

I watched the dev IGN interview and he said they are making sure that the game performance is rock solid on consoles this time around unlike control that had issues at launch but since fixed. Quality mode ofc

Yeah, they have a history of poor console controls. Quantum Break had a terrible input latency issue back in the day.

In Alan Wake 2 can we play Nightmare difficulty from get go or is unlocked after beating the game once like original game?

It's survival horror game, I like to play on hard difficulty from get go if possible.

It's likely between this or spider man to end up being GOTY for me. Control resonated with me like no other game once I got into it.

No one in my friend circle has played it or Alan wake so I can't get some cool conversations going about objects of power AWEs, if Alan made the bureau and objects or if they existed prior to him. Chicken before the egg thing.

I don't see Alan wake playing better than control but it could still be the best game this year for my tastes.

I dont think any game can dethrone ACVI as my GOTY for me......that game was soooo good!

It's like AW1 indeed, you unlock the Nightmare difficulty once you beat the game.

Then lets hope the normal difficulty give decent challenge, most survival horror games the normal difficulty is piss easy even RE4R.
 
Just finished my replay of the first game and the two additional chapters.

American Nightmare is still fresh since I did a replay a few months ago.

I'm ready to get Alan out of the dark place.
 


Spider man 2 tomorrow, but all i can think of is this game. Im gonna read every shit ingame, soak in every lore. Remedy keep showing the same footage which is great, im sure they held back a lot. Please dont fuck up the HDR, in a game like this its super important to get it right

Last I checked the actual game will be available in seven and a half days. So when can we expect reviews? Tomorrow? Five minutes before launch?

This is looking really good. I'm even considering breaking my 'wait for it to come to Steam' rule for this.
 
first one was better than i thought itd be.
atmosphere was good, and flashlight shooting sounded dumb but it was more tense than twitch pew pew and made you analyze the environment a bit more.

not paying $70 for a digit-only copy though.

It will cost 50bucks because it's digital only as far as i know.
 
Visually speaking, one thing that bothers me and that is quite visible is aliasing on window edges, handrails etc.. when using the flashlight. I'm quite surprised to see that in 2023.
