Alinea Analytics: Final Fantasy XVI sold 22,000 copies on Xbox

years of fangirl tantrums and for this, probably doesn't even cover the electricity used for the port.
time to move on from that colossal hw fail.

Did they put out a performance patch yet to fix the resolution bug on Series X, st least on par with the base PS5?

I think this will do good if the port is fixed, in the long run, not in millions obviously like on PS, but really good enough to justify Square's multiplat approach.

Also, the complete edition is at 11 and the base game is at 18 on the U.S. store. That's a good metric to see for any publisher releasing a late port.

Right, because releasing third party games on a platform with tens of millions of users is totally 'not worth it', unless you're just mad that your favorite console isn't the only one that exists

You're not making a point, you're just auditioning for a PlayStation tattoo
On a platform with 10s of millions of users doesn't amount to much if they don't actually buy games.

The game is great. People saying it is trash really don't know what they are taking about.
Their "Eikons"(Eidolons, Summons, GFs) combat scenes are AMAZING. Really top-quality, expensive moments well worth playing the game.
Just skip secondary missions and focus on the main one.
The main quest has a part where you go to a market to buy onions.

You can't skip the endless briefings where you are forced to walk and go talk to everyone (despite the base having a meeting room) and they have nothing interesting to say other than "Clive. You're going into enemy territory. You should expect strong resistance!"

The good part is diluted in at least double the time of mindless shit because the game would be 10 hours long at best otherwise.
When one platform has 3 million sold, another platform has 650k sold, and another platform has 22k sold, that's not a game problem. That's a platform problem
When a game sells approximately 1/3 of its predecessor that's a game problem. Or at least that's what everyone agrees on for Assassin's Creed.

PS5 version of XVI was literally given for free in my supermarket when you would buy Rebirth.

So basically SE shouldn't even have bothered..?
Yes they will soon realise.

Not even top 20 of circana for june.

The exclusivity deal fucked them hard. People would have pre-ordered this before they knew how much it sucked.
😂, great sustainable way to run a business. "You see the problem is that people on Xbox could have been scammed in buying something that ultimately sucked, we can fix that by not allowing them to see that early enough".

… sure it did not help and GamePass also does not help on Xbox in terms of sales chilling, but if the drive for multiplatform is the kind you seem to mention it just damages the overall reputation even more 😂.

Why blame Xbox gamers? Sounds like you think the game sucks ass.

The game will sell on sales over time. Lots of people have bought every FF game on Xbox. I have 1-15 and the spinoffs. The game bombed on PC also.

The exclusivity deal fucked them hard. People would have pre-ordered this before they knew how much it sucked. Would have likely done at least 1 million on Xbox at launch if it was day 1. Same for PC.
No way Xbox version would've sold 1 million at launch.

The "exclusive deal" wouldn't hurt. Main final fantasy games always launched late on PC.

The appeal of Final Fantasy games aren't the same.

I don't like the game but I would have bought it if it was 25 or 30 eur, considering it is an old game. I don't really like Death Stranding but I bought it again on xbox because of the price.

Also, that number is clearly higher. I went to True Achivements and 7k+ gamers have unlocked at least one achievement. Only around one million xbox players use True Achievements. Do your math.

I was on the fence, but stepped back when I saw the quality of the port. I'd imagine I'm not alone on that one.

I'll just wait for a deep Steam sale at this point.

Gamepass as it currently stands has completely obliterated the spending habits of most Xbox console owners. Microsoft has managed to turn its platform into something that only benefits themselves (and even there it's an actual debate), and no one else.

Im sure square predicted/knew for the most part that xbox series port gonna bomb hard, hence they half assed it so used up as lil dev time/budget as they only could, to still make it profitable.
