You want games? Here is your chance to prove it with your wallet. Otherwise you are just signalling Sony that it is ok to not release any games for PS4...You gotta be kidding me? Sony asking fans to fund this game? You have the money why don't fund it yourselves instead of begging fans for money?
In the replies to Adam Boyes it says that they are going to have a twitch stream at 5pm eastern where they will explain.I wonder why they made the campaign only 18 days long? Seems weird, especially since it's a high funding goal.
Number of relevant console IPs that have been tried to be revived through Kickstarter: 0.Number of games not on PC: 0 (unless I missed something)
And all these had 30 days or more kickstarter. This kickstarter is only for 18 days.

the money you are funding basically would have been the money you would have used to buy the game if you did.You gotta be kidding me? Sony asking fans to fund this game? You have the money why don't fund it yourselves instead of begging fans for money?

Yeah, a weird kinda abstract electronic rhythm game with high production values is a little bit of a risk. I think this Kickstarter is to gauge whether it's worth the time.Because maybe they think it's too risky? Rather Sony give fans the option of crowdfunding a title which may not generate any profit rather than not consider it at all in the first place.
I have to prove to Sony that I want games? By paying to have them make them? So I can then go pay again once it's made?
I need this game. It should be PS4/vita though.
Yeah, people once again acting like this is a charity and you're getting nothing out of it.Donate $20 and you get the game whenever its finished.
Number of relevant console IPs that have been tried to be revived through Kickstarter: 0.
A lot of smaller indie Kickstarters have gotten a big push by including Vita, Wii U, PS4 etc. stretch goals, so I'm not sure why you are trying to dismiss the importance of consoles in all of this.
You can be certain that if something like Chrono Trigger 2 was put to Kickstarter by a recompiled Chrono Trigger dev team that had bought the rights to it from Square Enix and it was only for consoles, it would get to 3-4 million easily.
You don't have to pay for it more than once. Do you even understand fuck all about Kickstarter? Apparently not.I have to prove to Sony that I want games? By paying to have them make them? So I can then go pay again once it's made? I refuse to take part in this kickstarter culture.
How naive are you? Not all good games are successes or projects worth risking 1+ million dollars for.Get some fucking money together, take a risk, make something, and put it up for sale. If it's good and people want it, you will get a return. I can't believe how many people just throw money at ideas these days.
The game would have cost $15 or $20 anyways once it's up to download, no?
It's not like this is one of those kickstarters where the backing options that actually give you the game are well above its future retail price.
This is...odd. The kickstarter aspect of it that is.
It's Sony's IP, if they were truly behind it then they would be funding it, lol.
If you pledge $20 you don't pay for it again when it's made. You get a cross buy download code.I have to prove to Sony that I want games? By paying to have them make them? Adam Boyes is a game fan like all of us he is not in charge of what gets funded and developed. Mind you he has a say in it and is probably why Harmonix can go out and do this Kickstarter without owning the rights. Just because Sony has funds doesn't mean they will back a project that is going to lose them money.https://twitter.com/amboyes/status/463353640263352320
ugh, even though im willing to donate money, just seeing that basically proves Sony is being cheap as fuck and making the fans fund this rather than do what they should as IP owner and publisher. Sony should really be funding this -_____-
For reference: I made a list with video game projects with more funding than $775K

Most likely backing this, but any reason for why the campaign is only 18 days long?
Why on earth would you limit the time of the campaign to 18 days? The more the better right? Doesn't seem likely seeing as it's PS only.

Drake said there's a bunch of reasons for it and he'll explain more during a twitch stream today at 5pm.Most likely backing this, but any reason for why the campaign is only 18 days long?

I'm in the same boat.Anyway the real reason I hope this succeeds is so Sony and Harmonix team up on a Parappa KS later on down the road.
Gotta believe.

Just because a developer is working for Disney or someone doesn't mean they are swimming in the kind of munnyhz that they could put almost one million dollars into the development of a game just like that
(and who knows, maybe they are spending some of their own money and that's why they aren't asking more than 700k).

I just backed Amplitude on @Kickstarter http://kck.st/1fMau1o Hoping to get the dinner with TIM SCHAFER!!!
You don't have to pay twice. Just pledge $20 and if this Kickstarter project is successful, you will get the game when it releases. Also, you won't lose your money if this project fails.I have to prove to Sony that I want games? By paying to have them make them? So I can then go pay again once it's made? Well I can find one in my list. Mega Man -> Mighty No. 9Number of relevant console IPs that have been tried to be revived through Kickstarter: 0.
I'm not dismissing consoles - some smaller projects with a console history can get a decent boost by going multiplatform.A lot of smaller indie Kickstarters have gotten a big push by including Vita, Wii U, PS4 etc. stretch goals, so I'm not sure why you are trying to dismiss the importance of consoles in all of this.
I'm not so sure. The "from Mega Man devs" game reached 3.8 million, and it is on PC. But the Kickstarter audience might expand by then. You can be certain that if something like Chrono Trigger 2 was put to Kickstarter by a recompiled Chrono Trigger dev team that had bought the rights to it from Square Enix and it was only for consoles, it would get to 3-4 million easily.
