For people with the Nexus 6, does your back cover have any spots/smudges? I noticed them since the time I took it out of the box, but I read other people having the same thing, so I thought that maybe it wasn't a big deal. I can only see them on certain lightning conditions.

Only from my fingerprints. Way more noticeable on the blue than the white. And I got a BearMotion case anyways that covers it up.

is it worth paying $250 more for a Nexus 6 or should I just go with the LG G3?

If you have the money to spend and want the bigger screen, go for the Nexus 6. Otherwise, the G3 is still a great phone and the form factor will spoil you.

I have the money, i'm just wondering if the Nexus 6 really is worth paying more... I want a big phone but the N6 is comically big

do you think the G3 will hold up for at least 2 years? that's my biggest fear/internal debate, my Galaxy Nexus is dying a slow and painful death

It's not. The thread, read it.

I read the thread. The prototype shows what appears to be M9 technology inside of an M8 body, but that's not confirmed.

Bloomberg said:
Its new phone resembles last year’s M8 in size and design, with gold, gray and silver options, and features Qualcomm Inc.’s eight-core Snapdragon 810 processor, which has advanced video capabilities, the person said. The device includes Dolby Laboratories Inc.’s Dolby 5.1 audio technology and HTC’s latest Sense 7 user interface with improved location-based services.

Hell it COULD (look similar or) be the M9 for all we know. Unless you're privy to some information that the rest of us aren't, then fuck outta here w/ the backseat moderating.

I vote wait for G4/this years flagships if you're looking for 2 year support.

My dog was murdered by a 3.5mm audio port and I will not rest until the standard is dead
Got my nano Sim card finally. Nexus 6 all in now!

ehhhh my phone is realllllyyy dying and my contract will cost 15$ more per month pretty soon, I guess I can survive with a G3 or a N6

fight it man, get some cheap ass shit or something temporary. Lots of cheap smartphones. Use it until the next flagships. Worth it! 2 years is a long time.

Ordered the Z3 Tablet Compact. Should be coming in tomorrow.

Now, like what the hell, which apps + games must I get for it?

Haven't owned an Android tablet before.

Buy all the Kingdom Rush games.

If you have a PS4 + decent connection + dual band wifi router (connect on 5ghz) then you can use the remote play app flawlessly.

Naaah I don't :/

I'm mostly looking for games like Shadowrun or Bastion (if it's in the store?). Basically PC ports onto Android.

Could I use a PS4 controller to play certain non remote-play games?

If you're ITCHING for the shiniest of the shiny, grab the cheapest phone possible and wait it out for a few more months.

If you just want something now, grab a Nexus 6.

Eh it looks like the Nexus 5 still has a LONG lifetime of support ahead of it, and the Nexus 6 is one year newer, so....

Nexus 6 I'm sure will be supported for 2 years but I don't know if it's worth an extra two fiddy. With that said I feel like a G3 isn't worth it either when we aren't that far from the hattttshit. But I don't know. All depends.

If he has the money and wants a big ass phone then obv nexus 6 over G3.

You were talking about support, not the extra two fiddy :p

But yeah if we now factor that in as a potential problem (I don't think it is for them), the line gets fuzzier.

Get the BlackPhone...

I also want one. While I'm a typical early adopter, I'm not with smart watches because the benefit isn't as great. When I learned I could have the internet in my pocket, an unrefined smartphone was a no brainer. These watches, though, need to be on point for me to jump in. Stay strong, brother.
one of the big things that kills smart watches for me is their proprietary chargers. they need to use something standard or near standard, even if it's that wireless Qi charging...

ahh... should've gone straight for the 32gb microsd... 16gb too small for mah music collection apparently (not using any cloud services)

also transferring things is HELL through this docomo thing, usb drag and drop really sucks for mass files. Next time I'll pop out the SD and dump it directly onto the microsd... this USB cable fails halfway through and screws everything over.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Actually Best Buy has the HTC M7 for only $199 no contract required.

That's a good option for those that want to buy then flip for a new 2015 phone.

Samsung Drops Qualcomm Chip From Next Galaxy Smartphone

Samsung Electronics Co. (005930) will use its own microprocessors in the next version of the Galaxy S smartphone, dropping its use of a Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) chip that overheated during the Korean company’s testing, people with direct knowledge of the matter said.

It seems like LG won't be showing the G4 at MWC, but their WebOS smartwatch instead. Okay then.

Meanwhile, LG will not to unveil its G4 smartphone at the same event.
An executive said, "We rolled out the G3 in May last year so we do not plan to unveil the G4 at this year's Mobile World Congress and spend more time perfecting the new phone."
Instead, LG will showcase various new wearable devices and IoT-related systems that connect smart devices and sensors to the Internet.

It plans to unveil a smartwatch equipped with its webOS smart TV platform.

Does Android Wear work with iOS? Might that be the reason why they picked WebOS for their next watch?

aka we want to see samsungs phone first before we see whether or not we need to make last second changes. My guess is the G4 didn't have a fingerprint sensor and got delayed to add one.

How is xiaomi using the 810? Underclocking?

That's the consensus. Are there any other advantages to the 810 over the 805, short of clock speed?

Also, FAUX rage over the 810. The nerd population has known that the 810's were overheating a month ago; How this re-cycled story is just gaining attention is beyond me.

Yeah, we knew about overheating a month ago, but Sammy ditching it is huge news.

Sammy over committing to a declining market segment of a phone no one wants on a yield production they haven't tried yet. ARE YOU READY FOR THE LULZ?!?!?!?
