Ant-Man |Spoiler Thread| I Think Our First Move Should Be Calling The Avengers

I find it funny that most loved MCU movies have underdeveloped villians and the most worst ones has Loki in it.

I watched the movie today and it was awesome. Most characters were great except for the computer dude. Ant-man vs Falcon was good, I thought Falcon didn't stand a chance cause he's such a weak Avenger and I really don't like how his wings work.

Probably should have put this first
ENTERNITY2.png

In the theatre it probably looks more obvious, but this silhouette is like Jesus in a piece of toast.

Just got back from seeing this. I absolutely loved it. Funniest MCU film for me. Totally didn't expect the Avengers Academy fight either but I kept away from most Ant-Man product news so it was probably not a surprise to most.

Really fun film. Made me believer in the Ant.

RIP Anthony

We don't really know yet. It seems to be a small clip from Civil War taken out of context.

That's what I thought when they referred to the idea that going to Tony Stark "a week ago" would have made sense but not now. If I remember the scene correctly.

Really enjoyed it. Fun. Hilarious at times. Good amount of action.

I don't care if people call that "safe" by Marvel. I had a great time watching Ant Man.

Also, I know the movie is supposed to be in Phase 2, but I view it as a Phase 3 movie.

saw this in imax 3d. the movie felt pretty fast paced with parts feeling rushed and some scenes feel like they werent well thought out. Although the casting was pretty good Corey Stoll is a bit unremarkable maybe he treads on predictable which makes him a bit one dimensional. People seem to really like Pena i thought he was fine.

i thought the special effects were pretty lackluster especially scenes with ants. ultimately the movie just ends up feeling a bit forgettable.

Maybe the arm is having side effects.
Maybe it has a HYDRA tracker that allows them to locate him.
Maybe the arm has been damaged.
Maybe it has been shut down by HYDRA because of his heel-turn.
Maybe Cap fought him and trapped him in the vice.

Who knows.

Just got back from it. I liked it a lot. I thought it was funny, had good action and a decent story, sort of what I expected going into it. I was happy I didn't' leave disappointed. Thought the Falcon/Avengers cameo was cool, a little forced but not enoguh that it distracted me from enjoying the movie.

I really liked this one subtle joke:

Baskin-Robbins manager: "I'll do you a solid. On your way out you can grab an Orange Smoothie Blast, and I'll pretend like I didn't see anything."

Scott looks at him like he's insane.

Cut to the next scene, Scott's walking down the street, drinking the Orange Smoothie Blast.

Just saw it. Loved it.

My biggest hope now is that they do a sequel, and make it straddle two time periods. Have some adventure that started with Hank and Janet in the 60s (or whatever) but that for some reason was unfinished, and gets completed by Scott and Hope in the present. All part of a plan to save Janet from the Microverse or whatever.

I just want some Hank Pym action. And if they can keep using that "Magically Make Michael Douglas look young" serum for a whole movie, it would be awesome.

That was not really subtle.

Yooo this was the best Marvel introductory super hero movie since Iron Man. It was super fun and every time you tried to make fun of it they were two steps ahead of you. I never dreamed they'd make a epic climax of a Marvel film where comedy shots are steadily cut in. The family angle worked really well too. This was great!

Not as good as Guardians, but up there with Avengers, Iron Man, and Cap 2.

Saw it tonight and loved it, especially the second half. Probably the best second half for any superhero movie. It started off a little slow but I was entertained.

I'd give it an 8/10.

Looks like Ant-Man can't compare to The Atom. The Atom goes subatomic all the time and it's not a problem. I actually wonder what The Atom can do while being that small.

I thought it was really good. Probably my favorite marvel studios film besides Winter Soldier though I may feel different after a rewatch. Really wished they didn't spoil Falcon's cameo.

I was also kinda half hoping that the bug zapper would have been the end of the movie, but the ending was so good that it made up for it.

Comics Pym has gone to the micro verse numerous times. I really like Routhe as Palmer in the arrow-verse but let's face it, the only live action Atom is a discount iron man.

Thought ant man should have fought war machine instead of dumb useless falcon.
We already seen WM in action in Ultron. I always thought it was weird how they showed Falcon in new getup at the end of AoU, yet never features him using it or even involved in the big fight.

Now it make sense.

It was okay. Nothing special, but nothing outright bad either.

What really did impress me was how good young Michael Douglas looked.

I caught the mid-credits scene but missed the second credits scene.

I feel the same way.

Was that really him or a stunt-double/makeup/CGI?

I know there's debate on who it is, but the picture on that page leaves VERY little doubt in my mind that it's Janet. You can clearly see all four of her wings in it.

I'm all for that but part of me wonders how she found her way to that house when she went Quantum somewhere over an ocean? Or when one goes Quantum do you eventually shrink through your current surrounding and wind up at a sort of gate? So no matter where you do it, you'll always wind up in the same Quantum Zone area?

A bit off topic but it fine to post after credit pics? I want to share an after credit snapshot from a different movie (Pokemon) but some posters say it could be bad.

I suspect that was mostly the result of CGI. Skin was too taut and smooth for it to be makeup, especially given how close some of those shots were. Was waiting for Clu like oddness, but it held up really well excepting a couple of shots from weird angles (and even then barely noticeable).

Pym says it's out of time, maybe you can be anywhere you want at any time
ie teleporting, that would be a bit broken but hey why not
Probably she was following Pym/the suit the whole time

One question about Stark Sr. - Shouldn't he be dead by 1989? Tony Stark would have been around 25 at that point and maybe I'm wrong here, but didn't his father die while he was still young?

pretty sure he dies in 91

The little girl getting upset about her Dad nearly made me teary eyed. That's probably the second time its ever happened when watching a movie.

Also the sidekick absolutely stole the spotlight with the shots of him talking and showing how information got from one person to the next. I normally hate side kick characters, this guy was amazing every time he was on screen.

This movie really did a huge service to all the side characters. Its probably why its one of my favourite marvel movies.
