i love it, but it's always missing any recent transactions going back a couple of days. i thought it syncs with your account so it could be completely current...RubxQub said:

No, you don't need to split the channels. You CAN do it to prelisten to the mix (the most important feature when mixing music).AVclub said:

Quick question: is there a difference in speed using an iPhones web browser or an iPod touch via WiFi? And about how quick is the Touch's browser? Is it even useful?
Kinda leaning toward an iPod touch since I need an MP3 player more than anything. Wanted a Zune HD but the lack of apps is a bummer.

It's so good, I sometimes use it OVER my laptop at home. Obviously not for serious web-stuff, but for casual browsing or looking up stuff on wikipedia, it's exceptional.

Every App has to be approved by Apple. Their are guidelines on what you can and can't do. This is hated because it's restricting freedom of what can be available, and also the approval process is both unpredictable with occasional ludicrous denials as well as possibly lengthy. The trade-off? A mostly unified system that 'just works', with very little chance of anything harmful done to your phone. About the nastiest thing that's made it through an approved app thus far is an app having access to some private details, such as contacts.
The app design is such that each app is sandboxes - runs in its own little environment. As soon as you hit the home button, it kills the processes. As far sI understand also, it can't write to other areas outside its own dedicated save areas without calling Apple approved APIs. Well, at least that's how I imagine.

I only say that because my cousin was trying to use it to go on Ebay and it was slow as hell. Granted, it would be infinitely cool to have something to do while sitting around at school, so if it works as advertised, great!mrkgoo said:

For the life of me, for a wireless trackpad, Touchpad Elite (from the maker of Jugaari VNC) is awesome. Has been out for ages, and pretty much duplicates a MacBook Pro trackpad (although 4-fingers becomes three, and three becomes two, but it retains 2-finger scrolling). Well thought out, because the mouse pointer becomes momentum controlled. And best of all - it works with Mac OS X WITHOUT extra software - it uses the screen sharing tech built-in since Leopard.

Pinch, for example, activates the ctrl+scroll 'fake' zoom on the Mac - which is normally crap, but if you're far away from your Mac (and you are if you're using this app), this is helpful. Of course it means you lose whatever the pinch gesture is on Mac OS X.
I just think TouchPad elite does the basics really well. Depends on what you want out of the app. I like to use it as a one handed trackpad (with my thumb).

Yeah, it has a keyboard. It just brings up the default iPhone one. I'm pretty sure Air mouse has more features overall, but I like the simplicity of Touchpad Elite. It just connects to MAc OS X's screen sharing, and does its thing.Zaraki_Kenpachi said:
When running, it has a 'menu bar' which has four icons that toggle the functions:
Settings (not many)
Modifiers keys: pressing this puts up the four modifier keys (shift, ctrl, option, command) for use while you are clicking.
Clicker: brings up a four way control, which I assume works more like the Apple remote
Keyboard: Brings up the iPhone keyboard for entering text.
It's not overly packed with features, but works for the most part. Not sure if Air Mouse Pro uses the mac os x gestures (like two finger scroll, expose, etc.)

I don't think you can use bluetooth. You need wifi - you don't need a router, so long as you can setup a peer-to-peer network. You have a Mac, right? Then the mac has wifi.
Air mouse pro looks nice, and seems to have a few more things - like a separate scroll 'wheel', and mouse buttons and stuff, but I like touchpad because it works pretty much like the mac trackpad. Just checking, it seems that the 3-finger gestures are changed - 3-finger swipe up becomes 'remove menu bar on iphone', and 3-finger left and right is the app switcher, so I guess you have to say good bye to forward/back in safari.
Air mouse appears to have a dedicated 'web remote'.
I guess put it this way - touchpad works like a wireless touchpad, whereas Air mouse Pro is a bit of that, and a bit of 'multifunction remote'.

It's a Mac - easy peasy. Click on the wifi icon in your menubar. Click "Create Network" (give it a name and a password).
Click on that name on your iPod touch in the wifi section, connect, and enter password.
Note, you don't HAVE to do this with the Air mouse or touchpad apps - they work simply if you're on the same network.
You can even turn your mac into a wireless router. Go to System Preferences -> Sharing. Click on "internet sharing" and give your network a name and password. Voila, joining that with your iPod touch will give you internet access on your touch.

An added benefit is that it has some shortcuts for different programs and has a slightly modified interface for controlling them. So you can hit the internet button, and then it immediately brings FireFox to focus on your computer. Then you see basic controls like Home, Back, Forward etc. It does this with iTunes too
I download apps all the time, but the only ones I really use all the time are Air Mouse, Evernote, DropBox and Mint. Anyone use Things for todo lists? I've been eying it and people seem to love it, but its hard to spend the ten bucks
