There are a LOT of Apple employees here, and they all got seats in front of me. That ain't cool.

We're really wrapping up now. Cook's thanking the Apple employees, who fill about half the room. He asks them to stand, and they cheer like crazy for one another."

damn wtf

ahahahahhahaahahah

I skipped out on the remaineder of the Watch announcement.

Can't we text on this thing without speaking to it? Communication with devices still seems unnatural to me.
There are only quick replies. You can't actually text, though.

We're talking about a mass market product and nobody in that world gives a shit what the iPhone actually costs. As far as 98% of people who've ever bought an iPhone are concerned, it costs 200 dollars. This watch costs nearly twice that.

*in the States

Pricing is done a little differently worldwide, a lot of countries focus more on the off-contract prices.

I'd put money on this thread being like the iPad reveal thread in about 2 years.

I don't understand this comparison. Was there anything like the iPad at the time it was revealed?

Apple actually seems to be behind the curve this time. I suspect this will be more like the 5c rather than the iPad.

Still not seeing the free U2 album/song/whatever on iTunes store. So much for the magic Apple button that sends it to everyone in 5 seconds.

You need to get out more.

I guess $350 is "luxury watch" price, and for it to be priced that way lets people believe that it's supposed to be a high-end luxury device, rather than the lifestyle companion for everyone it was designed to be.

So technically, the price is not bad! Technically, a smart device is a "luxury", so yeah.

I guess U2 is also big enough to still be universally relevant. A cooler, more current artist might offend parts of the userbase (so no Kanye, no current pop stars/starlets, etc) or not be big enough yet to be associated with what is supposed to be the biggest consumer product (so no Maroon 5 or something).

Yay, or something.

Well, let's see what wearables are like in Q4 2015.

As an iphone 5s user, I'm not upgrading to the 6. I do prefer the the small form factor of the 4' screen and nothing really screams "must have" with any of the features. The design might grow on me , but it just looks like an iphone touch :( I'm pretty sure I'll be upgrading when the 6s releases... but damn kinda of under whelming update from a hardware / software side of things.
