We're watching people exercise. The different rings of the app shows you stuff like movement, exercise, and stand time. A watch that will make you stand up every now and then is a pretty simple, good idea.

Oh, ok. How will it make you stand up?

Moto 360 for me..

I love this pic. I wish my arm looked like that. And dat scotch...

The main problem with this watch is that I can't wear my current watches, which obviously look far better than this. So, this watch would have to give me some type of utility that I can't get elsewhere. So far, I'm not seeing it.

Its so sad the best smartwatch is still the damn pebble.

Android wear excels in design but absolutely faceplants itself in function and longevity

This watch is just ugly and cumbersome... the UI? Oh man. That BMW app with the locked text being bigger than the doors text? It made me cringe.

Eh, not for what I want. Personally, the Pebble doesn't have enough functionality for what I want in a smartwatch beyond a really good battery life.

The Apple watch isn't going to be more than $150 (hopefully) but at this point it's a first generation iteration, it'll probably get better (or worse) in a few years, but for right now it's nothing that's innovating technology.

I HIGHLY doubt it'll be < $150...

I'm not sold on the watch, but I'm not against it either... It seems really secondary, like all other Smartwatches. But theres a lot of stuff that makes more sense and convenience to do with a thing on your wrist. Apple seems to have a better grasp of that concept than Google or Samsung does, at least.

Sucks that its missing like a camera apparently.

Not that it matters, but how would this work for people who wear watches on the right arm? When I wore a watch, I wore it on my right arm. Not my left. Can it be rotated upside down and the UI switched around 180º?

It's because everyone is scrambling and only understands mobile. We need more research in passive screen types like ePaper, eInk, Mirasol, electrowetting etc. Nobody wants to view pictures on a watch, high contrast color isn't necessary, battery and outdoor viewing is. A good smartwatch is simple, it passively give you information and requires little interaction. Both this and Android Wear are feature bloated distractions, they aren't hitting the basics and it's sad. Ecosystem lock is pretty shitty too.

It's like going after the eBook market with tablets. Maybe it's serviceable, but it's terrible compared to a smarter, more-focused eReader.

Lower resolution and battery life, no optical image stabilisation on the camera.

Did you expect the 2 phones to be identical, just with different sized screens? It's still an upgrade over the 5S, is it not?

The slick UI and fitness features have sold me so hard on this thing. But now the realization of the price and that this probably isn't being released till next year has set in :(

The whole reason I bought an ancient digital Casio is so I could run without my phone and have a stopwatch.

Running with a phone (especially a huge 5.5 inch one) is awful.

Works with iPhone 5 and later apparently.
