My only issue with MKX is the damn story is too damn short. Things were picking up quite a bit, then that last few battles were a little lame.

While I was bummed about MKX being a shorter story, I have to say I liked it a lot more than MK9's story, which was basically just Raiden fucking up a whole bunch for 8 hours.

MKX has me really excited for 11.

It's already established they were local deals rex, nothing else to say the conversation is over. Also gullible or not I believe they will have games for 2016, especially QB, which was a 2015 game, pushed to 2016. I am allowed to have opinions,
Major Nelson! Is that you? I'm also sure that established idea is that it was the opposite, even in this thread. So, why is conversation over without you giving proof?

My question is will it be number one this month or will Madden or Hardline etc. Still be number one?

My only issue with MKX is the damn story is too damn short. Things were picking up quite a bit, then that last few battles were a little lame.

Of course it will be number 1, very few games launch with +1 million sales:
-CoD:AW, Madden, NBA... are all old games (+5 month in the market) so they're not going to get anything close to 1 million.
-Battlefield Hardline released last month with +1 million sales but I doubt it's gonna have the legs to repeat last month results.

Major Nelson! Is that you? I'm also sure that established idea is that it was the opposite, even in this thread. So, why is conversation over without you giving proof?

No it was established the deals I saw were local and not nationwide ask Chobel.

He's hiding behind the magic "opinions" barriers through which no challengers can pass :^)

Eh no, again see above, I already admitted local deal, i thought It was nationwide, I was wrong, nothing to see here. :) :0 :)

Yeah I don't know, I just though Battlefield Hardline would do something again because of how big the franchise is, but man was MK good though.

Oh no, you're right, but the story could have had soooo much more though. Could have expanded the outworld issue at the beginning.

None of these are opinions

The PS4 had better deals than the Xbox one in December and still lost btw.

Quantum Break and Unannounced games will be in that period, it won't be barren.

Uh no see I know some people aren't paying attention to anything but QB plus other big games unannounced will be in those quarters.

But you can all believe what you want despite MS clearly moving games to 2016 and saying they are moving games to 2016.

Every single one of these is an authoritative statement which you espoused with absolute certainty. You dont get to do that and hide behind "it's my opinion." On these forums if you make an unsubstantiated claim and someone calls you on it its up to you to either back it up or acknowledge your statements were baseless.

Read the reply right above you're head sir.

Where I said it's been established I was mistaken and those were only local deals.

The "OPINION" piece was for Microsofts 2016. Which is an opinion. As in, I believe Microsoft will have games in 2016.

Telling everyone else that they aren't paying attention to games definitely coming during preseason 2016 and then giving them permission to beleive what they want to believe IS NOT AN OPINION!

Outside of the local deals, as Rex said, you still make confident claims without providing much evidence.

It is a fact that Microsoft has moved a bunch of games to 2016. Those games are Quantum Break, Crackdown 3, and Scalebound. You can't just throw "unannounced big games" around like it's a sure thing outside of Gears 4.

It's also quite the jump to conclude that XB1 will see regular software support throughout the year in 2016 based off a vague PR tweet saying "oh my god guys we have so many games this year you just wouldn't believe it! So many we had to push some back." We know a few things about MS this gen in regards to this conclusion:

  1. Both years that the XB1 has been in the market saw MS stuffing the holiday season with releases leaving the rest of the year with meager support. At this point it's basically been their strategy to maintain relevance in their major markets by capitalizing on the mostly budget minded less informed consumer mass that makes large purchases during that particular season. It's both a core strategy and historical precedent at this point.

  1. 2015 was really the first/only year thus far that fits this description. Titanfall released in March last year. It does seem like 2016 will be better due to Quantum Break alone which I assume will be an early 2016 game.

Ok Guys I honestly really believe that Microsoft is not lying when they themselves say that they have games in 2016.

I will admit I am possibly wrong, But i always take info from a first-party source at face value.

I apologize if I came off as anything else, I did not mean it, and please keep in mind I'm insane. As even now I will still believe any first-party source at face value.

I suppose I'll need to work on that. I thank you for reading my apology.

Sales GAF has absolutely zero tolerance for baseless bullshit. We deal with facts here. Hard numbers and we extrapolate the most likely possibilities from those numbers. These discussions rely on the accuracy of information within and as such misinformation and unsubstantiated claims are not tolerated. I want to believe you, but...

Nope Xbox One actually has games in that part of the year so nope. Who will win is anyone's guess but there will be no "obliteration".

Anyway back to batman.

Back to April NPD.

No it's not, from MS own mouths they are moving "games" to 2016 because this year is "packed".

They didn't have games in the first part of the year TF excluded din't they? They will now.

Uh no see I know some people aren't paying attention to anything but QB plus other big games unannounced will be in those quarters.

But again this is a pointless conversation since it seems everybody saw something different so there's no point in back and forth.

Every statement you've made regarding Microsoft's 2016 lineup, you've sounded pretty definitive so far. It makes me believe that you're stating them as facts. Especially since you're going off Spencer's tweets and assumptions that MS will announce games for that time period (If it hasn't been announced it doesn't exist) it's not a good look :/

EDIT: I'm too slow it seems

Again, I am very sorry for stating these things in the wrong tone. I do again, honestly believe Microsoft will have games in 2016, however I understand I came off as aggressive.

Okay for the third time, Quantum Break is not the only confirmed or strongly implied 2016 game. Crackdown 3 and Scalebound are also likely 2016 games. It is not just Quantum Break.

I'm sure we'll hear plenty about 2016 games this E3, let's return to toasting some stats.

Anyone know how much MGS4 sold? I wanna guess at V's potential. Also, we're very likely getting a MGSV PS4. (Might have to trade in my old PS4 for it)

Of course yore free to believe that. Everyone is free to have opinions but you can't go around stating it without absolute certainty as if you are privy to some information to which none of the rest of us are aware. And you definitely can't go insulting the people who disagree with said opinion or call for you to back up your claims by implying they are uninformed despite providing no further information. The issue here is not the base opinion it's the posts and the message that was communicated to everyone else in this thread. So long as people are consciously aware of the message they communicate to everyone else and make an honest attempt going forward that's fine. But i want to be crystal clear that "it's an opinion" is no excuse in situations like these. Thankfully the lesson appears to be learned.

Your aggressiveness is not the only problem as you have also derailed this thread in which it is meant for NPD.

As for your pre-season months comment, irrelevant. You said 2016 and now you're moving goal posts to "pre-season" 2016 which is completely BS.

Actually the whole conversation about Microsoft in 2016 was about the dry months, so no I didn't move anything. Please read the whole conversation.

And what makes you think Crackdown 3 and Scalebound will be held off until next holiday season? As Rex said, you're making definitive statements with 0 evidence.

Again read the actual conversation, I'm not the only one who omitted those games.

If you're going to attack me but no one else please remain quiet you're doing nothing but helping make this thread even more derailed on top of mine for NO reason.

Anyway, I won't be participating in any more of these off-topic posts. It's the only way to get back on topic.

I again, apologize (hope all see this) I was too aggressive and confrontive with my statements.

I did and that still does not excuse you from making such a baseless claim. It is extremely likely that MS has three announced games for 2016 in the "dry months". It is not just Quantum Break. Period.

Very few games do that, and these games are usually great games that don't do that well in their first month anyway, unlike Hardline which can be considered great success.

He's acknowledged the error in his previous statements. Lesson appears to have been learned. Now that we've established we hold people accountable for their statements in Sales GAF threads it's time to move on. I appreciate the support but let's get back to the topic at hand. No sense in derailing things further at this point.

Seriously, some people are expecting the Batman Arkham Knight bundle to not do much even if console sales are low in June? The PS4 will easily surpass 350K in sales in June, including the bundle. Hell, even 400K may be possible depending on how well Sony markets the game and if the bundle is produced sufficiently. No offense, Welfare, but if you lose the bet this time, you will literally be eating crow! XD

Also, Microsoft Chad, as a head's up, keep up using your speculations as facts and you may get banned.

Anyway number 2 for this month will probably be Hardline, has anyone noticed sales falling off or anything?

It's hard to say. I haven't been following it super closely, but not too long after Hardline released it went on sale at several places for half price (29.99).

That was sure to sell.

Ugh I want to believe Hardline sales have dropped off. We have some strong circumstantial evidence via online player counts and insider hints but nothing conclusive and my tag makes me hesitate to underestimate Hardline again.

I'll just say this, I HOPE hardline drops to the lower half of the NPD chart and Bloodborne snags second but I have no idea how likely either of those two scenarios are at this point.

In case anyone has not gathered I really hate Hardline and everything it stands for (Meager yearly farmed franchises with unacceptably low QA, performance and visual standards) and as horrible as it may be to say I am seriously depressed it sold as well as it did last NPD.

Odd we don't have Asylum and Origin numbers.

Anyway I think this shows that it's kind of crazy to think BAK will somehow make an 100k+ gap from Xbox one and reach over 300k. The 360 version is the higher selling SKU of the last popular Batman.

It'll still sell of course and probably do better than the Witcher in terms of console marketing

Anybody even see Xbox commercials for the witcher 3 anywhere?
360/ps3 ratio don't mean anything since the install base was much different last gen.

It's been pretty much unanimous from retail insiders that Bloodborne has had great sales legs so far. But we cant confidently extrapolate sales position from that. I'm just being optimistic about it but it's pretty much a given that it will at least chart in April given what we've been told.

1.) Battlefield: Hardline (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, 360, PS3, PC)
2.) Bloodborne (PS4)
3.) Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3)
4.) Mario Party 10 (Wii U)
5.) Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)

Yeah, sad to say (I'm not a fan of Hardline), Hardline will be #2. My guess is that the individual SKUs will sell less than Bloodborne, but combined together will exceed Bloodborne sales.

I don't really see BB charting in second then. I'm expecting something like MK, Hardline, GTA (PC version will help it) and THEN maybe BB at number 4.

PC is always very heavily slanted toward digital purchases and NPD only tracks retail. It will have an impact but it should be a very muted one.
