have they shown the xbone version yet?
Characters were never Assassin's Creed's visual strong point lol.Which is weird since they seemingly went to great lengths with this weather, sea and foliage technology.
It just kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.

All of this looked really, really good.
And as someone who skipped AC: rev and AC 3, I am actually excited for a new AC game! Looking forward to some next gen (cross gen, I guess) open world games at launch
I am about 80% sure I read that next gen versions are 60 fps
double edit:
100% sure

I can only wish PS4 looks like that with solid 30fps. I fear it wont.
Not true. Characters in AC3 on PC look amazing. Well, main characters are.Characters were never Assassin's Creed's visual strong point lol.
I still think the faces look pretty bad for next-gen. The Last of Us looks considerably better, granted it is not an open world game but I expect better.

Yeah... AC2 and AC3 both have some really terrible looking character models, especially in present day.
Well that article is 100% wrong. The single player is 30 FPS and the multiplayer is 60fps.
Source: My eyeballs on direct feed.
Beaten but yeah, multi is 60 fps, single player is 30.
Raise your expectations for PS4 please. AC4 is a current gen game with a DX11 coat of paint.
That may just be a bad shot. Considering AC 3 looks like this

I'm not worried
Not true. Characters in AC3 on PC look amazing. Well, main characters are.
main characters as in in-animus characters. These people are not really important.I took it from a Gamersyde video myself, I thought I was being generous actually...

Here is the video it is from, posted last week. Take a look for yourself. Here is another:
Did I play the same game as you? Looked atrocious...
There are future gameplay scenarios in the game, you just don't play as Desmond. It's first person, no combat. Apparently you work for Abstergo. So what's the word...no more Desmond-type bullshit? Did they scale that side stuff back?
Only multiplayer is 60fps.If the ps4 version is 60fps @ 1080p, I'll probably pick it up for a console.
Don't let me down Ubi.
I'd say calling them "amazing" is a huge stretch. Not true. Characters in AC3 on PC look amazing. Well, main characters are.
main characters as in in-animus characters. These people are not really important.
If Ubi outsourced these chars instead of doing them in main studio, it means they are not really important. The people that have been in every game since AC2 are not important? Wat?
So since they are "not important", Ubisoft is excused from doing a piss poor job? I didn't mean to turn this thread into "Shit on Assassin's Creed 3", but I couldn't let this slide.

Only multiplayer is 60fps.
"While theyre cagey about what they can and cant say about next-gen features, certain versions, for example, will show your true name in multiplayer. Streaming elements are also being utilised on the next consoles, and Browne notes the obvious performance improvements: current-gen SKUs will be 30FPS, while the Xbox One and PS4 versions will be 60FPS at a much higher resolution."

They confirmed a while back that multiplayer is 60fps while single player won't be.
The unstable performance of the game's Sony conference appearance isn't in evidence during our private look at the game, and there's no frame-rate dips at all during its 10 minute stretch - while reports came from the showfloor of a 60fps multiplayer experience, this was clearly a silky-smooth 30fps presentation.

ok this just means why isn't anyone making a good surfing game since uhmm don't know when. kelly pro surfer?
it's a stupid cross gen game, with some nice next gen effects here and there. Do not expect miracles from it![]()
That video doesn't state ANY console.
I'd argue its for all next-gen as ubi is likely using a similar engine for all due to similar base items like gpgpu etc.
Of course is going to scale depending on raw power, but many of the effects should be there across all three. Likely XB1/PS4 will be almost identical with WiiU lacking in some areas but gaining some gameplay uniqueness from the gamepad.
How about a HQ version to see the differences even more ?

Dont forget sony have provided ND with mocap suits etc and facial capture. Doesnt look like ubisoft have done this for AC yet, hopefully moving forward in next gen they will... Watchdogs Aiden pearce looks fairly well done tho.
Do we REALLY need another Assassin's Creed?
Probably, ending on 3 would just be depressing.
yeah, but come on, it's a cross gen, i don't expecting totally next gen graphics, and the game show this....really nice effects but nothing more that can be passed for next gen
Yes, but only if it is an open-world pirate game set in the Caribbean.Do we REALLY need another Assassin's Creed?
Probably a little bit. Ubisoft has no interest in fixing the gameplay and writing problems with this series.
What kind of PC you running?
I had to drop a few settings in AC3 to get 60 fps at 1080p on a 680. Ac4 looks quite a bit more demanding.
Of course, maybe they've massively improved the engine since last year.
Looks great, but Watch_Dogs is still more interesting to me from a gameplay perspecitve.
There are very specific next-gen features which were catering for as well, which you wont have on current gen. Not just graphical improvements, but certain other things as well,
Browne was reluctant to divulge any specific details on further PS4 and Xbox One additions, but did confirm that theyll run at 60FPS at a much higher resolution than both PS3 and Xbox 360, which clock in at 30FPS.
PC version of AC3 had some pretty good faces, I wouldn't worry too much about this one.

AC3 in general had pretty good faces, but only for the old-timeline, the current timeline faces look like ASS.
case and point:
