The games at our school could basically span the whole playground. Basically all you had to do was hit the other guys marble and you won it. Of course there was strategy over when you would chose to go for the hit because if you missed it you left yourself wide open.
Gazunta said:Chocolate Breaka > any other pre-made chocolate milk.
You had to hit three times in a row. After the first hit, you got to strike again, but if you missed, it was your opponent's turn.legend166 said:How did you guys actually play marbles?

tithin said:Exactly the same. Our playground was pretty damned large, but most people would play in the alley behind the nursery (our school had a nursey, primary school and a set of huts for the p4-p5s all on the same grounds). Because of that people would play it all at the same time and the same place.
The amount of times I had good marbles nicked after they were deliberately knocked askew and into tsomeone elses games, by my opponents was terrible

Jurassic Park Jeep. Also their lazy attempts at bringing back classic IP's. I should love them because they are a small indie developer who are trying to bring back Adventure games with franchises choc full of potential but ToMI was the last straw for me. Really only Sam & Max Season 2+3 that were worth picking up, even they don't hold a candle to the original title though. Bad art, bad writing and just not making the most of what they have got. Maybe if they clear out their writers and bring in some new programmers for the graphics engine (and clean up those damn controls/camera) I might give them another shot. I never would have thought it going by how they come across in interviews but Wallace and Gromit just felt soulless, like they were just going through the motions to make use of the licence and make some money off it.Choc said:why are they douches?
I only spent $220 on my GPU last year and the 6 bit should be a nice step up from my 5 year old ASUS 19 inch monitor that has seen better days. I'm not a graphic designer or anything. ~$170 seemed like a good price since most I've been looking at have been similar price but regular TN.Agyar said:Spend $500+ on the latest video card, display massive resolution textures on a shitty 6-bit panel that dithers away all the fun. Makes no sense.
Ten years is a long damn time in video game graphics. Just look at the fan mod Black Mesa for example of how far we have come.jambo said:Halo HD is pretty damn good, so easy to switch between the old graphics and the new. And your jaw always drops because they've really done great work. It looks like a whole new game, but with the same maps and areas that you know and love.
So you can't unlock it if you get a copy of the game a few months down the track? I am disappoint Microsoft.jambo said:Also the Grunt Funeral Skull you get with the pre-order or first run copies of the game is ridiculously hilarious.
Ah, I lived up that way as a youngster, went to Bateau Bay Primary there. My brother went to Gosford High, but I went to Hurlstone in Sydney. I also doubt I could have written that in a more awkward way.roosters93 said:Central Coast actually. Gosford High School.
Fred posted a fantastic build towards the end of the last thread that he might have the image for still.BanShunsaku said:I might request some suggested builds from AusPCGAf closer to when I'm going to order but I wouldn't mind just getting an idea of how much I need to spend.
Triple J hottest 100 2006. A lot of weed, a lot of beer and a lot of goon bags hooked to a Hills Hoist along with an entire day of backyard cricket in the beating sun led to downball being the slowdown event of the afternoon. So much laughter and fun when everyone is off their face and have no idea what is going on. Some Matrix style shots were going on I am sure.Salacious Crumb said:I fucking love downball, we only had six square courts at my school, getting a super fast low ball into the far opposite corner is one of my greatest sporting achievements.

Ivy Bridge is more an enthusiast thing and AMD fucked the pooch so I don't think there is much coming up. Graphics cards should be good though. I think the next Nvidia is early next year? Will probably grab a mid range 6 series if they turn out as well as the 560Ti did.Salazar said:I might ask you dudes again some time late next year, regarding an upgrade. I was the master of the sneaky cheap-shot.
Yes. Those shots were excellent, though easy to see coming when you know to look for it.Shaneus said:I was the king of the under-the-leg sneak shot. Step forward to return ball 180 degrees, BAM take step OVER the ball, hit it at 90 degrees to unsuspecting victim. So much fun.
Hooray, you did the thing that I told you to do. Now keep doing it and remember this when you become a famous Internet moving review man.Kritz said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWs0mRjurzk
Skyrim Video Review.
Not sure if this is where I want the videos to go stylistically. Like, dumb recording of not really playing the game properly + relatively short but mostly incoherent narration. It's also not really as close to Kritz.net's review style as it should be I guess.
I missed the UC3 reaction. Was it really as insane as people say it was? The SS thread was not as amusing as I had hoped.RandomVince said:Well, talk about a controversial review score. At least it hasn't been as dramatic as the uncharted review.

The masterful shot was facing the ball, letting it go between your legs, reaching around and hitting it back in front of you.

I could never consistently pull that off though, it was always luck. But boy did it feel awesome when you get someone out with it.
Also, I FOUND MY POKEWALKER!! Now to catch up on an entire day's worth of study...
Yeah, it had to be just right coming at you to be able to pull it off. It was usually unexpected by most when the ball came back at them.commanderdeek said::lol

What are you running at the moment? I would only upgrade if you feel that it is holding you back from playing games the way you want. My upgrade from a Q6600 to a i52500k really wasn't all that needed but I really wanted to treat myself and have a go at building my own PC. Plus the SSD is divine.Salazar said:I suppose I'll have to wait and see if I can keep the current CPU and power supply.
