$150 get you a Terabyte ohhhhh yeah

With change, from MSY. You know they sell everything at about 2% profit? Friend of mine used to manage their servers. Steam and iTunes have pretty much eaten up my whole 320GB HDD partition between them.

That's why they can't afford a new site :lol

Oh, their service is shit. Doesn't matter which store you go to. Uniformly terrible. And the site is fucking godawful.

Christ they're cheap though.

They've just opened a store here, will have to go in for some of this service I think.

What is this newsletter of which you speak, and how would one go about signing up for it?

When you're creating a PSN ID, you can elect to receive Sony/3rd Party related newsletters, promotion material, ect.

There should be an option to enable it via the management tools, if you haven't already.

Alternatively, just get someone you work with to bellow "what?" loudly at you as you try to point out things you'd like to buy from the MSY pricelist. It'll save you the trip.

Wouldn't get it from there though they are going down the pisser.

Yeah I ordered the Bluray of the Futurama movie in November, cancelled in March when they still hadn't stocked it. Fox wouldn't supply them because they couldn't pay the bills.

I get that at most stores today, fucking children working at stores who don't give a shit about their job "Errr what you want"

EzyDVD are? Interesting. Might have to keep an eye on their retail store, hah. See if I can't pick up a closing down bargain or two.

Oh, speaking of which: AdelaideGAF, I was in Toys R Us yesterday (my girlfriend dragged me around six stores to try and find Kirby for DS, which is why she's the most amazing girl I've ever been with) and it looks like they're doing something pretty serious to the games section. Shelves at the back are empty, and possibly being pulled down. They're either making the section smaller, or...well, who knows. Definitely worth keeping an eye on it, though. There could be some real bargains sooner or later.

Actually, they had GRAW 2 for 360 for $20, but...meh. Not my thing. Probably still there if you're interested though. There were three copies.

Thanks for the heads up.

Pleasure. I'm here for you, AdelaideGAF. You need heads up on some bargains, or you need to buy some ad space in a magazine, or you just need a hug, you come see me.

I will hug the fucking shit out of all of you.

Ewwwwww....

My last MSY experience went like this:

- Checked their 'daily updated' pricelist.

- Called about 2 or 3 days ahead to see if they had stock.

- Waited in line for 40 minutes as one person served customers and 4 or 5 sat around doing nothing.

- Got to the front of the line "oh, that's not actually in stock won't be for about a week".

- Me: "Can you call me when it comes in stock? Or hold one for me?"

- Them: "No."

After that, I realised I'll pay the little bit of extra premium for someone who gives a damn.

canvas curse? if you're still looking ill sell you my mint one for whatever it's worth

I've been to Auburn a few times and they were fine. Bad customer service, but they don't really need it. They can't afford to train people with product knowledge, you just go in there to buy shit, don't bother them with "what graphics card should i get" or as i went into Auburn last time "why should I get vista over xp". These guys don't give a shit, they only want to sell shit.

I've schanged to Chipping Norton MSY when it opened up last year as it is 10 minutes away from where I live. Chipping Norton is always dead, i've been in there nearly 20 times and never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Just walk in with my order # from my email.

Adelaide represent! :D
=/

MSY is the only PC parts shop i go to.. I don't give a shit about the service (which isn't TOO bad at the Adelaide store) I just go in with a highlighted price list and show them what I want. You seriously cant get better prices than them for PC parts.

woo Adelaide.

My last MSY was for my ASUS Laptop. They had one in their online specials and went to grab one. They didn't have it and said it was discontinued (which it was)

I ended up getting it for $100 cheaper at computeralliance.com.au

The Plympton store is probably the best one I've been to. It seems to be run by Russians, rather than by Chinese like every other MSY. No racist, obviously. The Russians just seem to give vaguely more of a shit about customer service.

iam.rass - she was actually after Superstar (and found it in that anime store I forget the name of) but I will admit to being a little curious about what you'd want for Canvas Curse. PM me if you want.

Ah never been to the Plympton one, i go to the city one as its 10mins from my work. I just park in the bus zone, walk in, grab my shit and hope i dont get a ticket:lol

Just putting out some love for Aldi, who have supplied me with my first ever Full HD TV. 42" LCD that's actually surprisingly good quality (!) for $999. So awesome.

Can anyone advise me on whether it's worth buying a new 360 with HDMI? Currently using a third party VGA adaptor atm and there's some slight colour bleeding/ghosting (or whatever... where you see a slight shadow of text behind it) that only occurs with the 360.
What's the going rate for an old 360 that doesn't have HDMI?

The city one is right near my work too. I happen to live closer to the Plympton one, though.

Hmm.. What suburb do you live in? I'm Liverpool. Sounds like you're close.

Anyone else getting Killing Floor on Steam? It'll be out at about 3AM (Sydney time) and it's $15 USD if you preorder ($5 off).

The trailer didn't do much for me, but the new gameplay videos look surprisingly good.

http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/features/47052/Killing-Floor-Video-Preview

It's somewhat similar to L4D survival mode, but in a larger area with the ability to buy weapons after each wave. There's also a persistent perk system which levels up depending on what weapons you use etc.

The big selling point for me was 6 player co-op.

I'll probably be up at 3AM playing with a couple other friends that are getting it.

GAF thread here.

Nope no date or price for it yet. I asked Nintendo for one and to confirm this date and price but no response.

Hey you guys it's almost the weekend yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Let's all fucking go to Bendigo

look at those above and you can guess the price.

It'll be that price and date, but people have this "Well unless Nintendo say so" mentality they don't believe it.

Fucking twats.

Why bendigo? :lol

They're hosting the worst named event in Australian festival history: Groovin the Moo. I'm going because neither Okkervil River nor Ratatat are playing Adelaide (we're such a ghetto). Then I'll be in Melbourne Sunday night to see Okkervil River again! I have such a mancrush on Will Sheff.

BendigoGAF, where do I go to drink in your fine town?

(Do we have a BendigoGAF?)

Can't be worse then Earthcore.

Not if you're stuck in the office waiting for a physics bug to get fixed so we can send out the build! GAAAH :( I want to go home and watch LOST and eat pie.

I am truly sorry to hear that. Maybe no one will notice. You have my permission to just go home.

Earthcore is badly named, but...Groovin the Moo, dude. Say it out loud. Tell your friends, 'I am going to Bendigo because Groovin the Moo is on'. And then try and tell me it's not the worst possible name they could have chosen.

Told the co-worker next to me, he goes "Groovin the Moo? The music festival?" didn't bat an eyelid man :P
