Nadal's always had incredibly good hands at the net for someone who goes there so rarely.

It's the one thing I've never understood why he doesn't go there more often. Especially now that he's a little bit slower and the wear and tear of his baseline play is more evident. I think he won 24/27 net points at one point in the SF.

Adding the second hand allows the extra strength to deal with that spin. You have more variety and reach with a one-handed backhand, but it's easier to generate more power with two hands.
