Lol, I was waiting for this.

seems like you're the one that doesn't know how heat vision works. Superman can turn it up or down, like a faucet. from little beams to a big cyclops like blast.

You realize since its heat it shouldn't have concussive force. In your scenario the only thing that should change is the amount of heat. It shouldn't even be a beam.

I'm really glad he got away from the slow-mo stuff in Man of Steel, and that led to some of the best fight super hero fight scenes ever, but it looked like there were a couple of slow-mo scenes in the trailer, and I hope that's kept to a minimum in the movie.

Being a big Superman fan, and an even bigger Wonder woman fan, this trailer really left me satisfied. Especially after the disappointment of Man of steel. I was really skeptical of Gal Gadot as Wonder woman but she looks great, and hurray for Wonder woman's outfit actually having color!

I've watched the trailer about 10x now. It rocks. Damn.

What a time to be alive for comic fans. 2016 is going to going to be so good.

Everyone wanted consequences for what happened in Metropolis in MoS and they finally get it. Cannot wait for the fight. It's been a LONG time coming to see it in live-action with a big budget. Haters can go eat shit. If you're not into it, you can go watch your amazing indie emo bullcrap. This is pure popcorn entertainment for comic fans.

Damn right.

Sorry, I've probably been confusing you for one of the other couple people who won't shut up about Lex. No hard feelings!

And it's funny because I think Gadot's WW was the weakest part of the trailer, but there's enough other super exciting parts in it that I brushed her aside.

The Social Network is one of my favorite movies, and I've never liked Lex Luthor before, so I'm over the moon with this interpretation. Obviously, that's going to bias my replies.
lol, no hard feelings taken. I've definitely had my misgivings about his Lex before, but there's new material to shape my opinion on, so I'm just putting in my 2 coppers same as everyone else.

Fair enough. Eisenberg is great as Zuckerberg in The Social Network, no argument on the casting for that one.

My girlfriend is a big Wonder Woman fan and Gadot reminds me of her a little, so I have a similar bias!

I've watched the trailer a few times now, and I'm intrigued. My thoughts.
Positives
  • Cinematography looks ace.
  • Colors are a lot less subdued than Man of Steel in terms of cinematography, which I really appreciate. It's not too colorful, but not to bleak either.
  • Affleck's Batman looks really badass, and his role and motivations in the story sound really interesting. The fact that Batman has a lot more to do physically than in The Dark Knight Trilogy has me interested as well. (I really liked the TDK trilogy, but this trailer alone looked a lot closer to what I always imagine Batman to look like on the big screen.
  • Eisenberg's Luthor actually seems interesting, which I didn't expect.

Negatives
  • Not sold on Wonder Woman. Obviously we haven't heard her speak or seen some extended shots, but visually it isn't really working for me. (The costume itself works, but I'm still concerned about Gadot's performance in the role. She can act, but for this role I'm really not sure how well she'll be able to pull it off. We'll see.)
  • I'm a bit worried about the tone of the DCU in general. Many people have complained about the Marvel universe being too light-hearted and full of jokes, but I feel like this could go the other way with DC as well, with the universe itself being far too interested in being dark and gritty. (I'm more Marvel-oriented, but this is not a M vs DC point, to clarify, it's a concern that applies both ways to both properties.)

Also, this trailer really shows how easily Marvel and DC can co-exist. Superhero movies are basically a genre of their own at this point. I feel like this Marvel vs DC war is the same as complaining about another spy film coming out because there's already a James Bond or Mission Impossible movie coming out, which makes no sense. Superhero movies are the spy movies of this generation, though genre saturation is a different discussion point.

Looks impressive! All that mess some people including Gaffers were saying. I hope you stump your big toe in the night haters. Can't wait.

So Bruce talking about someone having the power to destroy the human race...you're all thinking Doomsday too?

I actually think that final shot of Superman tearing the roof off the Batmobile might be the end of the fight.

Then again, there are shots in and out the armour. Maybe he is actually helping Batman out, friends by that point...and Batman probably said the doors were broken...nah. That's a Marvel joke hah.

Batman dislikes Superman because of the destruction in Metropolis. Superman is going after Batman because Bats is still a vigilante and I think Superman is trying to get some goodwill from people? I don't know

How many times are Bats taken part in the destruction of Gotham? Why doesn't Batman turn himself in?

I liked the trailer, but it seems that Bruce Wayne/Batman has the same origin story as the the main antagonists in his films. They were wronged in some way and they see the protagonist as a cause of their issues or currently in the way. Who is the real villain here?

In this universe? We don't know. Something as large scale as what happened in MoS? It's very believable that nothing like that has happened to Gotham on Batfleck's watch. I think the entire point of this movie is that Batman is going to be driven by paranoia and anger before eventually seeing that Superman is really a good guy and they team up (along with WW) to face the real enemy, whether that's Luthor or someone else. I don't think they are trying to push the idea that Batman is right.

In this universe, impossible to say. We don't know what Batman's previous adventures were, aside from having a Robin and running into the Joker

There's a real chance he didn't have bombastic adventures before "retiring"

Good trailer but Wonderwoman and Lex seem to be totally miscast.

I dont think a movie like this really needs wonderwoman to be squeezed in. I want it to be all about Bats vs Supes

Best part about the trailer - No more one liners and lame attempts at humor. We finally had a trailer for a super hero movie showcasing some seriousness and respect to the situation the heroes find themselves in as well as the combat.

As usual for Snyder, the visuals look great. Hopefully the story is actually competent. I still don't get the plot motivation at all.

Batman seems pissed Superman/Zod killed his workers in MoS. I mean, it's really hard to assemble a competent work-force nowadays.

Looks pretty good.

I kinda think the movie should of only focused on Batman and Superman, hard to say right now, but why throw in other characters? Couldn't that have waited?

Hope it won't be paced badly and feel cluttered.

The bat sup fight ends before 2nd act ends ..

The destruction is away from populated areas

I like it a lot more than the first trailer. I still think a lot of the visual shots of Superman are filled with extremely basic and really melodramatic visual language (though quite possibly that shot of the people with the skulls on is deliberately so).

I'm surprised/mildly disappointed they didn't make more of Wonder Woman's presence.

My hope is that the 'YOU LET YOUR FAMILY DIE' note is from Jason. Bats assumes it's from Joker, remembers the spray-job on Jason's costume, faces Joker in Suicide Squad and Joker's like "What are you talking about? I didn't send you a note." Like this drawn out mystery.

YES!

Have this thread running through the first two flicks and unveil the answer in Batman's solo flick.

Maybe. I guess I'm going only by what I know by Batman lore. He, like every other superhero causes a massive amount of damage to the city they claim to protect. They are also many times the reason why villians launch large scale attacks against civilians.

I just thought that it was funny when it was quoted that Superman's type of power can destroy humanity, when Batman's power and influence can do the exact same thing.
