Great trailer. The soundtrack/scenes (the old ones scenes at least) reminded me of what I loved so much about the movie... I'm in the minority but I enjoyed the heck out of Batman v Superman. The music especially is what stood out to me - Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL's soundtrack elevated a lot of scenes for me.

Saw this on twitter, seems like a stretch but maybe?

Hope not. Don't want her face to be blown off by a shotgun like a certain other character had happened to. So edgy.

Only way this will be an improvement is if they rehaul the editing of the entire film too

Certain scenes needed to be shorter and stuff like the Justice League promo package email should have been removed

Edit: definitely looks like this cut will make a lot more sense of the Africa stuff though. And Clark Kent gets to talk more so thats great. He was too hard to get a grasp on in the film imo.

I will say though, I kinda liked the trailer.

Yeah, the trailer is really good, easily the best trailer the movie has gotten yet, by a good margin. It almost makes it look like an entirely different movie, but I doubt the DC actually does make it an entirely different movie.

I wish it did though, LOL.

I still have no desire to sit through this again, but the trailer is extremely well done.

Forgot how good this movie looks though. Complaints with the quality of the film aside just seeing that trailer confirms its the best looking comic book movie this year

Fucking wack that fong isn't on justice League

I mean if this is re-edited from scene 1, we got us a pretty god damn good movie.

If it's the same movie cut for cut with just more shit added too it, it's just even more of a bloated, incoherent mess.

The whole thing needs to be redone.

Well duh. Anyone expecting another Kingdom of Heaven/Superman II situation were setting themselves up for disappointment.

Also for people who keep bringing up the Alien director's cut, stop. Scott only stepped in when he saw Fox's attempt to make a new cut which by all accounts was a plodding mess. Funnily enough, the "Director's Cut" is actually shorter than the theatrical cause Scott felt that more scenes needed trimming to accommodate the deleted scenes added in. The theatrical cut IS his directors cut for Alien.

Yeah I mean, you can't save the chop cuts and the bad pacing unless you completely re-cut the film.

That ain't happening.

Love the trailer. Can't wait till the Blu Ray is out. I don't usually buy Blu Ray but I liked the movie and seeing all the shitstorm around it makes me want to give it some support.

I think people need to understand there is a difference between those that had dislikes in regard to the film and those that purely hated it. Those that hated it aren't going to be open to this no matter what. I think they're a minority. This isn't going to be a completely different film from top to bottom. Those that had dislikes will be curious at the very least to see if their issues were addressed with the additional footage, edits, etc. Their opinion could be improved. People aren't split into just two camps of either hating it or loving it.

I don't find anything wrong with what Larry Fong tweeted.

Nope - it's just the MPAA are being prudes in this case by being the only board (along with the Irish) to give this cut a higher rating. BBFC, German FSK and Australian boards all kept the same rating as the theatrical cut.

And a 12A rating doesn't exist for home media. That's for cinema only.
Excellent, thanks for the info. I'll look forward to watching this then.

The tweet was from the DP and said that people who already liked BvS would love this and those that hated it still would.

So those in the middle will likely still be in the middle after it lol. I didn't mind it, loved some of what they did but the editing of the film really lets it down. Wonder Woman's entrance - during the climatic battle was the best part of the movie for me (THAT MUSIC!! if the WW movie just has that as the music throughout the entire film I'll be there day 1).

Would be interested in the digital version (as a download) but not wanting an itunes copy.
Will likely wait until July and buy the standard dvd as well as the blu-ray.

This. I disliked the movie overall, but felt that with better pacing and more scenes to flesh out the characters and their motivations, the film could have improved significantly. I don't think this ultimate cut will completely shift my opinion, but I do expect the new edits and scenes to improve it. We'll see.

I don't doubt that this cut will change little for people that hated it with a fiery passion. At best this will fix pacing and overall connective issues with scenes. I loved the theatrical cut so if this can make me like it more the this could very well push this into my top superhero movie.

Also,
Jena Malone please be Barbara.
After that one shot of her I kinda have my doubts.

I fucking hate this film but the editing in particular seemed like it came in super hot. If this gives them a chance to tighten it up a bit then it'll make the excessive runtime drag a little less I suppose. More power to them.

Actually a Kingdom of Heaven type situation seems plausible since this movie is restoring subplots (Africa, Clark investigating Batman in Gotham) that were almost completely excised from the movie.

Other than restoring the scenes with Sybila and her lepres son and other connective tissue type scenes (ok Guy was the biggest one of them all), KOH isn't THAT different.

The movie's framework and plot are beyond salvaging. Getting a bonus fight scene isn't a bad compensation if it's on the level of that warehouse scene.

That warehouse scene was clearly a showpiece for the movie. The fact they considered this expendable enough to not have even put in the trailers should say something about just how impressive it's probably going to be.

Using Kingdom of Heaven as any sort of measuring stick for Batman v. Superman seems like a reach. Superman II: The Donner Cut is a pretty decent comparison, in that they put a bunch of shit back in and... still ended up with a broken movie. Just broken in different ways.

That was a pretty cool trailer. I'm one of the few people on GAF who hasn't seen this film and hasn't read any spoilers, so I'm pretty excited to finally see what the hate is about lol

Just judge it on your own, I never let all the hate(or praise) affect my opinion. I've seen beloved films that I despised and vice versa.

I can't understand why some people think that additional scenes to a bloated movie are going to solve the film's problems.

Eh, I think the movie was less bloated as much as it was overloaded. Too much stuff in the movie and not enough time given to properly develop each storyline.

The fix to this is either:
1) You cut a ton of subplots/characters out of the movie
2) You make the movie much longer and more properly develop everything

So an optimistic person could hope this the second option and makes it a better film.

Like my first impression walking out of BvS was "movie was bad, should've been split into a 2 part film"
