Batman v. Superman RT Thread: like standing ovations in rain

I rank TDKR ahead of Cap1, and both TDK and BB ahead of WS, so for me I disagree with that. But WS is great and CW looks great. It could be 2 out of 3 greats for me in the Cap trilogy at least.

I don't like TDKR, so I guess that this is a matter of opinion.

Compared to The Dark Knight and Batman Begins, the acting in Rises was so campy and over the top. It had that weird panto death scene with Talia and unexpectedly awkward dialogue delivery from JGL, Hardy and almost every other actor in it. Sure it looked just as, if not more visually striking than the first two, but I definitely enjoyed it less.

Fuck the critics, this Winnie the Pooh was made for the fans.

Winnie the Pooh makes out with Piglet on the rubble of the Hundred Acre Wood. He then breaks Tigger's neck to stop him from bouncing on Kanga and Roo.

"oh bother"

For starters,

Captain America blows chunks of ass.

Second, Batman Begins.

BB was forgettable for me, bland, forgettable villains with a weak plot to gas 1 shitty city because reasons with terrible fight choreography and overall pretty damn dull.

Cool chase scene tho.

Here's where I'm lost when we talk about trilogies in cinematic universe. Iron Man 3 picks up on developments from The Avengers, as does Winter Soldier. Weird to classify these films using such dated terminology.

They wanna gas the city because they think it's corrupt beyond repair. Gotham is a metaphor for the world and Batman holds the optimistic viewpoint that it's still worth saving. It works.

I agree about the action stuff being lackluster. Cap 1 definitely has it beat in that department, despite most of it's action taking place in montages.

Red Skull is probably still the best villain in any of the MCU movies in terms of performance and presence.

Would definitely get me interested if he came back, sucks that Hugo Weaving essentially said he's fucked off from the role

You liked Red Skull better than Loki? He was barely a character with no motivation beyond lusting for power for the sake of it.

I liked the first half of Cap 1 more then anything in BB (or any other super hero origin story). But the second half just completely fell apart for me. Hated it. BB just works as a better complete movie for me.

God that Dad Affleck video is fucking hilarious. Poor Affleck, you can see he's screaming from the inside. Poor Cavil too, not given anything to work with...I know he can be charming and interesting (Man from U.N.C.L.E.). Oh well..

I guess? The individual MCU character movies are intended follow the traditional three-act narrative structure for each Avenger, so I don't see why trilogy isn't a fitting term here. It feels appropriate even though Civil War might have elements from other movies woven into it.

Also it's a good short-hand for general audiences, as it's a concept they're familiar with.

Civil War is the conclusion to Cap's story because Rogers is going to that big Helicarrier in the sky in the end.

Cap is a decent movie; I like it, but I concur with others; the second half of the movie isn't as strong.

Loads better than Man of Steel btw.

These critics are f-ing crazy! Okay maybe not all, some bring up some good points. But come on, this movie was fine, average at best. I would put right there with Man of Steel. Lots of Good stuff, Lots of Bad Stuff and Lots of Ehh.

It's an enjoyable comic book movie and an average film in general. Kinda hyped to see the R-rated version now because I'm really digging this universe as well as the Batfleck (who was pretty damn good), just wish it could have been better assembled.

Get rid of Goyer, someone do last minute editing on that JL script and make Snyder advisor for the DCCU (dude has good ideas when it comes to superheroes fights, lets keep in a position focused on that) and not the director for JL.

6/10

He was also jealous/envious of Steve and that Dr. Erskine would pick him to use the perfected formula on.

Yeah, that's barely there though, and it doesn't really factor into his overall behavior. He'd still be futzing around with the Tesseract and invading countries regardless.

Just saw the movie in IMAX. Not as good as I thought but a lot..A LOT better than dogshit man of steel.

Pacing was all over the place in this movie, I thought it was rushed and also fucking Lex character. So bad. Hated that guy.

Who's Feige going to replace him with when he wants Red Skull to return from whatever Infinity Stone-induced purgatory Malekith, Ronan and Ultron are hanging out in?

With Dr. Doom out of his way now Feige can throw all the money he can to cast whatever the fuck he wants.

Weaving is still under contract and has said he'd return if requested. The reports of him hating the role are exaggerated a bit. He said he enjoyed doing it but would rather not return. Despite that, he will if needed since he's contracted for more films.

My bro just texted me that he about wanted to walk out during the whole JL spoiler part. Said all he could do was laugh how bad it was.

I think I might like this even more than Sadfleck

Sounds like a guy I'd could have a few beers & smokes with and have a great time. Maybe during some fishing, or watching some football.

Wonder Woman was one of the highlights of the film. Shit, I love how she fights and how she just enjoys fighting. Even when she was being clobbered you could see how much fun she was having.

I know emotions are running high in this thread, but lets not get crazy

Batman Begins was the best film in the trilogy

/come at me! :P

Hahahahahahahaha why the fuck are you here then? I assume you're one of those that automatically hate certain types of movies and think that will let others know that they have better taste and have a high horse attitude.

sorry just saw this. I'm here because I have a bet going about how this movie will do so I was curious to read some more comments.

This makes me fear for the follow up films. How can people possibly get hyped for Justice League when they know Snyder is at the helm? The whole film universe has been preemptively kneecapped by this horrendous movie.

MCU had Iron Man, Thor and Captain America to lead in which ranged from good to great. Anticipation was huge for the Avengers. People knew and liked these characters and their films, as well as Whedon, and couldn't wait to see them all together.

The DCCU has no goodwill. The name is tainted. Better to pull the plug now and try again in a few years. Studios do it all the time.
