Korey was a little nicer to the film than Martin and Korey 2.0.
He particularly liked the score, cinematography, J Irons, and of course Batfleck, but that's about it.
No explosive anger, but somethings definitely annoyed Korey.
Still was a great review.
Watchmen is the only Zack Snyder film I've seen, though Man of Steel is on my "well, eventually" backlog list. I'm just craning my neck for a better look at the train wreak as I drive by. It's fascinating.
Dont put this on some DC vs Marvel fight, when the Dark Knight remains the Gold standard to everyone. This is all on Snyder.
He needs to direct the next JL film too....and Aquaman...and Cyborg

So far from what I've heard, I think I've reached the decision to skip this in theaters. Doesn't sound like it's worth the money.
There's definitely a bit of company fanboying going on. Most of the DCCU threads I've seen are inevitably filled with Marvel comments.
But yes, you're correct. The Snyder hate is responsible for most of this.

I am guilty of a bit of schadenfreude.
But it has nothing to do with Marvel.
My favorite superhero movie is probably the Dark Knight and there are plenty of Marvel movies that were meh.
I thought MOS was a complete piece of loud garbage that was a mega bore despite being ram packed with action. I somehow had hopes for this after the first trailer. The second trailer completely soured me on the project. It was a complete plot spoiler trailer. My schadenfreude arises from all of the fanboys irrationally trying to defend the movie ruining trailer. And also from MOS fans. I don't know why but I really have a pet peeve with people who have terrible taste.
It is mostly because it serves as a point of comparison. Most people don't give a shit on what company the source material originated from. It is only the fanboys getting their panties in a twist. I have never been big on comic books, and most of my friends who are don't really fanboy one way or the other. I mean, at this point there isn't even a DCCU, it's just two freaking movies. Do you see fanboys defending Fan4tastic?? Sometimes movies just suck. Comparing them to better movies in a similar genre seems completely normal.
I think the movie will drop 80% on the second week.

I'll admit for me the bitterness stemmed from Man of Steel. After finding Superman Returns underwhelming and being really excited by the tone in the Man of Steel trailers, I ended up getting pretty hyped for it. Then I watched the film and realized it was completely different from the type of movie I expected. It ended up doing nothing for me and when I heard the exact same team was making Batman v Superman, I figured it would be more of the same. The trailers only furthered my suspicions and here we are.
I wonder how much the reviews and word of mouth are going to affect how much it makes.
It's probably not going to flop but I can't imagine it doing amazing now. A huge chunk of the people seeing the movie are the type that care about reviews and have seen the backlash these past 2 days.

I see his argument that at 50% you can still enjoy the movie if you're not picky about your entertainment, aka 1 out of 2 people will enjoy it.
Unfortunately for me unless it's a so bad it's good movie, cheese kung fu or a horror movie, anything below a 70% I'm likely to hate.

I'm sure this review was already posted, but my god it's so goddamn incredible. Exceptional writing. I yearn for this kind of work in the video game space. Kill Screen tries to do similar stuff, sometimes well too, but this is lovely.

That's the number of voters. Most of those votes for BvS are fake. Or at least from voters who haven't seen the film yet.

50% was considered the passing grade for my entire schooling and university career. So yeah it's like that some places. The difficulty of the test or the criteria an essay is judged against can be adjusted to alter what score is a passing threshold, it is arbitrary.
But Ang Lee's Hulk isn't even bad. It's great.
Passing was always 65% when I went to school.

It's just the average from the number of people who clicked the rating, which obviously for a hypebeast movie like this, it's going to be heavily inflated by fanboy ballot stuffing around release. Only a tiny fraction of those ratings are from people who have actually seen the movie.
I mean it doesn't even make sense that there can be that many votes before the movie is even out, especially when you compare the number of votes similar movies have. For instance, Deadpool has a bit over 140k votes after having been out for weeks and doing very well.
My taste tend to align with RT about 80% of the time. If a movie is below 60%, I tend to dislike it.
But he does have this point about RT mentality. Some people rely too heavily on RT to influence their viewing habit. I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing. People want to go to the movies to be entertained. Why spend $15 on a movie when the vast majority of the evidence says the movie won't be entertaining.

Fascinating is the word I'd probably run with also. I honestly don't think much of Snyder as a director, admittedly, and I wasn't 100% onboard for this movie from the start, but for a movie presumably important in being the launching point for DC's own film universe even I'm surprised it's reviewing the way it is. Yet at the same time I don't feel surprised at the idea of the movie feeling rushed.

To me it is about cost v time.
There are way too many other entertainment options and movies are expensive.
cloverfield, the witch, and zootopia are all out and I haven't seen them yet. If I go to the movies, I will probably choose one of these over BvS.
A couple of reviewers thought having the minorities in Zootopia be predators was problematic, because the prey animals did have reason to fear them, and they felt that muddies the messages. It's something the film addressed directly, but they missed it.
