Battlefield 3 |OT2| Mine! RendeZook! Wa Isl!

I didn't know BF2 started with 4, but it makes sense since BC1 starts with 4 on engineer and assault classes. I just think carrying one or having two with a perk with the reload speed not being increased from multiple boxes would solve most of the issues of explosive spam in that map after taking out rockets before those.

remember BC1 rush? 4 grenades was GDLK on armed objectives!

The only thing that would stop grenade spam is allowing 1 grenade per life, period. No reloading at all. You underestimate the determination ppl have to grenade spam.

I would love to see this, but it will probably triple the amount of RPG's fired. Still better than hand grenade spam though.

Nade spam sucks in Metro but believe me when I say it's not anywhere near as bad as it used to be. In BF2 you started with *4* grenades. Infantry only Karkand was just stupid back then.
Metro plays like trench warfare. Makes me wish there was an option to trade smoke grenades for tear gas. Mostly for use on your own camping team.

SMH. Objective Harm being gone is one of the best things DICE did.

And 4 grenades was useful to try to flush people out and you missed a throw.

I don't underestimate it. But in BF lives can be unusually long and not having the ability to refill your grenade can be annoying at times.

I think increasing the ammo box refill timer would solve the grenade spam issue from 1-2 being thrown. Make it more tactical to use.

so looking forward to tomorrows release... true battlefield maps!

You will be sucked disappointed. I like the maps but they aren't as good as the B2K maps. As much as I'm disappointed with Wake Islands remake and Karkand they're still better than Armored Kill and Close Shitters combined.

hahahah specialist could take out an objective with 5xc4 + grenades + half a mag of the UMP!

make grenades take 60 seconds to refill! they're already the absolute last thing to be refilled from an ammo box... nah, i don't mind grenade spam anyway... probably because of only 12 opponents...

And I guarantee you'll still see groups of people sitting next to crates, taking turns throwing grenades. There's 64 people on the server...it will still lead to grenade spamming.
Its the same as with Bazaar's mortar spam. They made the reload time longer but when there's 3-6 people on 1 team spamming mortars then it doesnt really feel any different.

Take away grenade refill from ammo crates & give a perk that allows you to carry more grenades....use grenades sparingly.

Dice needs to take an idea from Planetside 2 and take grenade refill ability off of the ammo crates and put resupply terminals at the flags/capture points. Need another grenade? Run to a flag and resupply....but then again, with the placement of flag B on Metro, there would still be ppl running back n forth to the terminals to spam grenades.

Well, you're talking 64 players. I'm coming from 24/console perspective. More people obviously is gonna be spamming no matter what you do.

I've said before though: DICE never really balanced for 64 players since 24 players was the focus on most of the maps (with "large"/Conquest variants only being added to appease the PC crowd/whiners about player size on PC). Adding two-three more flags on Conquest maps is nice and all but it doesn't really fix the balance issues 24 or more players doesn't matter there.

As for Rush, anything above 24 players is bananas since you can tells most of the maps (with maybe 1-2 B2K and AK maps) were designed for that size in mind.

I hardly ever see people use mortars after the nerf. Only time I see it is when they've got a position that can't be counter-mortared.

Anyone know what time in the UK, Armored Kill goes up? Sorry if the times have already been discussed, but had a quick look over and didn't see any specific talk about it.

I don't think it is true that the most maps aren't balanced for 64 players. I'd argue it's about half/half. Or more precisly: the maps built with rush in mind, like metro or Damavand Peak are almost always bad with 64 players. On the other hand on stuff like Caspian border or Firestorm CQ, 24 players seems too little even with fewer flags. Stuff like spamming Explosives is rarely an issue on the open maps, because it's not a viable tactic. It's not a big issue on the B2K maps either for the same reasons.

DICE simply dropped the ball on the city maps. Not even in BF2, where everyone had 4 grenades that were refilled instantly by touching an ammo pack, was explosive spam that annoying. Having maps composed of mostly corridors and the map design focusing on chokepoints to create tension, was the wrong move. With how flags work it's simply not necessary. Also: putting them linearly is just not a good idea, it wasn't in BC2 and it still isn't in BF3.

and imo: anti inf bazooka is the worst aditon to BF, it's way more annoying than any grenade spam and it messes up class balance. The BF3 maps haven't enough destructible stuff that it's needed either (unlike BC2)

seks why are you still saying how balanced the PC version is without extensively playing it

Dumbvand and Metro are the only two maps that are egregiously geared towards consoleized nonsense, everything else works fine with 64 players.

Firestorm, B2K, Armored Kill (maybe), and (maybe) Caspian are the only maps that'd I'd consider "64-player ready" all the other Vanilla maps and CQ are 24 (well, 12 on CQ lolz) balanced. It's apparent from the map design dude.

It's only ever used when people are spawn-trapped. Honestly, I'd like to see it reversed, where mortars couldn't hit inside spawns. But, again, DICE doesn't play like every other average asshole, so they've probably never encountered it. And what's up with being unable to take tags from someone using the mortar?

Karg Island, Canals, Teheran all work well with 64 players. The maybe for caspian is unecessary as it's one of the best designed maps for that playercount.

Seine and Bazar are a bit crowded but they can be pretty fun at 48.

Metro and damavand are the only maps that are truly bad with more than 32 players. (then again, they are bad maps fullstop, at least in conquest).

Errrr...

No.

Like everyone else has said, every map but Damavand and Metro works well with 64p. Even Seine feels great with its across-the-river/bridges firefights.

Speaking of Tehran, why the hell does basically no server have it in their rotation? I don't love the map but it's better way better than Damavand which I can easily play if I want to.

Jumping back in before Armored Kill and I almost forgot how annoying the community is anymore. I miss the old days of BF where the smart, teamwork people outnumbered the idiots looking to purposely run in front of vehicles just to to punish you for taking it. I need to find a place where admins don't take any shit.

I'm excited for AK for a whole other reason than most people: It finally gives me a reason to roll with an ACOG scope on my assault rifles. :)

So I jump into a game of tank superiority and already find fuckin stat padders letting each other take turns capping the flag. Guess that huge post on the front page did nothing.

Stuff like that is just as silly as the "flagrunner" servers on CQ. I mean, who does this? where is the fun in running in a circle for an hour?

I just woke up at 5am for some reason. Notice Origin went offline, put it online, notice it start downloading something, check battlelog, full AK servers, woohoo!

Damn, the new maps are pretty. Going to bed now, but Alborz is HUGE--other maps are bigger, but the sense of scale is amazing.

So, I preordered Premium Edition about a month ago, and a few hours ago I received an email saying my order was cancelled. Now I see that the limited edition is in my inventory, what the hell is going on here?

EDIT: EA responds http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/15/8954169.page#24970666
Hey everyone,

Here's an update to the post above me from QforQ.

A small percentage of Battlefield 3 Premium Edition pre-orders were inadvertently cancelled today, and had the purchase price refunded into their account. Those users that had their order cancelled, have already received a cancellation email, notifying them of the change to their order status. We're very sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

If your order was cancelled, you will soon receive a second email from Origin, explaining the situation in more detail. In the meantime, we've added Battlefield 3 Limited Edition to the impacted accounts for free. Beginning right now, you can download BF3 LE, and start playing immediately.

We are aware that your order was for Battlefield 3 Premium Edition, and that Battlefield 3 LE does not include all of the content you had ordered. The follow-up email from Origin will provide you with all of the details you need in order to access the additional content.

Thank you very much for your understanding.
