just built a new PC and holy moly. Playing in ultra settings is so crazy GOOOOOD. I was playing in med/low before.
If I set everything to ultra, is that the best I can get? Or are there tweaks or texture packs or anything to make it better?
and wtf man, how is there no B2K servers anywhere. I couldn't even find a westcoast server playing strike at karkand or sharqi last night. Does nobody play these maps? Those were the best in BF2. I only play conquest though.

There are quite a few 24/7 Karkand servers. Check your filter settings as you may have had something checked that hid the servers.
Server browser sucks. It doesn't actually show all available servers that pass the filters. Enabling more filters such as player count and free spots actually shows more servers than not having those toggled.
I've fallen in love with the ASVAL again. When I want to play aggressive support it's perfect. I don't really like any of the engie weapons, so it's perfect for that too. The built in silencer gives me the stealth I need and unless I'm just beaten by, say, the AEK's high rate of fire I usually win every 1 on 1 encounter as well.

You can buy a new serial. You basically just got robbed.
You cant buy this second hand. Unless someone gives you their account (which you better go and change email and password and everything you can) you got robbed. EA terms alsoforbid selling accounts so if they find out they may disable the account.

Even if games don't have a client to register keys with, if you try to play online it's more then likely that you'll get a "This CDkey is already in use" error as the guy who sold it kept the key.

Yeah, dude--this isn't an EA thing. If someone registered the key (and ostensibly tied it to their account) and just sold the game, you're screwed.

Don't be like that. PC gaming much cheaper then console gaming, and the benefits far outweigh that small inconvenience.
If you buy a used copy of BF3 PS3 or Xbox you have to buy an online pass for around 10/$ i think.

Just don't buy them second hand unless you know for sure the key isn't registered. It's that simple.
There's no problems buying from retail, it's usually cheaper too.
There's loads of stuff on sale around various non-Steam vendors (like Amazon, GMG, etc.) pretty much all the time, and a lot of times they're Steam codes. Don't follow Steam just because it's Steam, follow the deals. I have a moderate library of 50 or so Steam/Origin games, and ~10 were bought straight from either, and none anywhere close to full price.

Sure it is. If you aren't used to a controller you won't have much fun the first 3 weeks.
I hope you mean the console version and not the PC version because then it's a big no-no.

Bought the game today and the guy at EB really tried pressuring me into getting the Premium edition but I couldn't afford it. I figure after the first time of saying no thank you, they'd leave you alone. In the end, I had to end up getting the game at Toys 'R' Us because EB Games decided I don't look over the age of 17 and I didn't have my ID on me. I expect my purchase at Toys 'R' Us to really affect EB. Anyways, updating now. Taking forever. Does a lot of GAF play PS3 version?

Nope. If you play campaign it does I think (Though I've never tried, haha)

It's main menu is Battlelog. If you need to change settings you need to launch it first, probably best if you launch the campaign.

Ah thanks. I seem to have a problem with selecting buttons and tabs in the game, is it caused because I play it on a plasma?
