I bought my 4070 Ti Super about 2 months ago for basically 1.100K euro in Greece, which was more or less the average price in the market for non-used cards.

With my income, giving 3K every two years for a GPU is WAY too much money. I could never have my PC have the most powerful GPU every two years.

That is the dumbest shit I have ever heard. Only a very small minority will buy a new gpu every 2 years, people who can afford to waste money. Everyone else will get one at every 5 years or so and the rest of their pc parts every 6+ years which is pretty much the same length as each console upgrade from base to pro to new gen. The same people who buy a gpu every 2 years would buy a new console if it released with an upgrade every 2 year as well. Logic is hard to find on these forums these days.

@Zathalus I tested my 4090 in that exact area. 21fps. So 29 basically means a ~40% performance uplift. Not terrible, but not exactly that great either.

Sure and what about the stutter on PC? Did they fix it? With a highend PC there is no stutter in Wukong for example? Normal UE5 stutter is in almost all UE5 games. On consoles as well. Shader stutter is gone in most new games.

All this tells me is that we've reached the limit of Moore's Law for chips. And without DLSS software, you're never gonna get the results required from just raw power alone if you want to make the best looking games in the market.

There is no magic, Nvidia always shows DLSS in 4K Performence mode

Here is how much of frames RTX4090 is rendering with these settings, this is all "real" frames just upscalled to 4K DLSS Perf. without frame generation.


So RTX5090 is easily above 60FPS before frame generation.

It's that hard to understand?

Many games are very low res internal because of fsr2... and it looks terrible in motion.

How can you tell if a game is not optimized if AI / ML tricks are showing you 200 / 300 fps? Average user is ignorant and think that these are just some kind of filter / optimizer (just like an AA an MLAA etc), while in reality, they are not!

You know what game this reminds me of? "Crysis".
There was a time when "can it run Crysis in max settings" was a meme. No one complained that the devs made a game that has max settings that was physically beyond the capability of the hardware available. That is not an optimization problem, that is just because the game needed a more powerful hardware.

We are so used to everything being cross-gen that new gamers are now thinking it is strange that their console might struggle with something that was ambitious and cutting edge.

I mean... a higher resolution is literally inefficient in all categories besides clarity. You're sacrificing more power and more performance to get a clearer and sharper image. There's no major effect on the game.

A higher framerate literally impacts playability and responsiveness of the input. The lower the frames the worse the game feels. Even if it looks smooth, under the hood it's still checking 30 times a second for an input.
