Unless I try it or another action game vet does, I do not. It's hard to talk about impossible inputs in a game that has such an easy parrying system compared to other titles which have unbelievably demanding just inputs. Some windows are so unbelievably small, like a few frames per refresh, small fractions of a second. I have not seen anything remotely close in BB, not even in the same ballpark.
Well then fucking try it.

Decided to test Blunderbuss vs. Hunter Pistol a bit. Using the video preview on PS4 I couldn't get true frame advance but I could at minimum count how many "segments" between pausing and unpausing it took for bullets to travel to a wall I was aiming at (camera panned so I could look at distance from an angle.)

Now this might be because I don't have proper testing tools, but the Hunter Pistol bullet usually manages to reach the target in one less of these pauses than the blunderbuss.

I would have to have real frame advance to know for sure though, but it really does feel like Blunderbuss bullets travel slower, especially when I fight NPC hunters that use blunderbuss-style weapons.

Stuck on a root chalice boss called
Bloodletting Beast
. Problem is the boss arena has a massive hole in the middle, meaning I have to circle the boss around it. :<

So, right now I'm at the part where
The Dreaming is on fire. Am I at the end of the game now? Should I finish stuff now before going forward?

What is the best guide to use to get the Platinum trophy? I've already completed the game, but want to start a new character for this and just not sure on all of the NPC quests and when to make sure to speak to them by.

I am making a BB/Reiter PvP build and am wondering if 20 stamina is enough if I add a few stamina runes. Not really worried about the Reiter, but the Burial Blade eats a lot of stamina, right? I will make some tests on my quality build, but maybe some of you have experience using it... Would be perfect to hit lv 100.

Burial Blade does eat lots of stamina and you won't go far with 20 stamina (even with a rune). At least for my liking it consumes a lot. Or I'm spoiled by my Threaded Cane and the ability to throw so many hits with it.

I was on 20 points aswell but levelled up for the Burial Blade.

And damn, Loran Darkbeast in Lower Loran Dungeon is a bitch. I don't know how to beat that asshole without levelling up to over lvl 100. And I managed to get this far with a lvl 60 char. Imagine that.

Please, instead of talking about how easy it is, try it for yourself.
The parrying system is easy overall. I'm not sure how this can be argued.
Well then fucking try it.
Is that you mom? You usually don't curse and I'm too old for such a comment. I don't have oodles of time to test frame advantages of weapons, especially for combat systems that I have zero issues with and are not even difficult. I also don't do UT reviews of the new episodes of Sesame Street so don't bring that up either please. It doesn't help that my only save is at Forbidden Woods and I can't do a magic load of a Father G fight.

If anyone wants to test it so badly, feel free to do so. As long as it is a video only trying to early parry quick attacks, none of this blunderbuss only stuff simulating trades, some sort of conclusion can be drawn. Count frame data for the attacks you think can't be parried fast enough as well as frame data for your parry. Estimate the frame window or correlate to longer attacks figuring an approximate percentage. Factor in distance of target, weapon type, projectile type, etc... If you are waiting on my schedule, then be prepared to wait awhile.

If attack is at 30 frames, your warmup is 15, estimating at 20%, you have a window of 6 frames (+/-3) if you guess on the middle. Since your warmup is 15, just input would be needed to catch frames 15-18, and that doesn't factor in projectile. Nor does it factor in if the attack is indeed parryable and input polling. You are looking at a serious study if you want to take it on beyond giving it a shot and seeing if a parry works (the extent of what my effort would be in this case and wouldn't be conclusive regardless).

EDIT:
Display and controller lag are also factors. You would want to test on a non-penalty display, usually a monitor. Wired controller.
It usually manages to reach the target in one less of these pauses than the blunderbuss.

I would have to have real frame advance to know for sure though, but it really does feel like Blunderbuss bullets travel slower, especially when I fight NPC hunters that use blunderbuss-style weapons.
That's interesting and could very well affect parrying times if true. I have tried both and also felt I had better response with the pistol. If the startup frames are the same, the projectile speed could be a difference maker, especially since you may attempt at a distance. Good stuff.

I just made some tests and I think I am good if I add Eileen's rune and the two best stamina runes. From what I saw, BB is not really a weapon for huge combos anyway. It's more about using the great range and spacing.

And here I am, not knowing you could equip multiple runes with the same effects. lol

But it seems to me that the Threaded Cane has more range than the Burial Blade. You hold the weapon pretty close to you in most of its moves.

You couldn't equip multiple rings of the same type in previous Souls games, so I can understand not knowing this.

Yeah, I honestly never felt like I was ever doing anything with Burial Blade I couldn't do with another weapon especially with its damage and stamina cost. If I wanted range, there was the Threaded Cane. If I wanted a really cheesy charged R2 or an overhead L2, there was Ludwig's. If I wanted stunlocks, high multipliers out of dash, and split physical/arcane, there was Blade of Mercy.

Seem a blog made a summary of what we'll be seeing in the 1.04 update.
I can't really translate all of it since I don't know what specific items or features are called in the English version. But I'll try my best.

You'll be matched regardless of level difference with Coop Password Matching.
With password matching, you'll be matched regardless of Oath.
QuickSilver bullets and Bloodpacks now can be stored up to 600, up from 99.
Various weapons, secretive moves will be tweaked. Mainly buffs.
It also says they fixed a bug with "銃槍", but don't know how to translate it.(Gun Spear?)
When defeating the boss of chalice dungeons, there will also be a chance for enhancement mats to drop.
Depending on the depth, the type of blood stone you'll be able to acquire will change.
For example. Depth 5 will have Blood Stone(Blood Rock?) as a rare drop.

There seems to be other tweaks which aren't specified here as well.
Sorry if there are any translation errors.

Took a bit of a break from Bloodborne due to work. Jumped back in.

Reached the shortcuts for Yaharghul Chapel/Village & Nightmare Frontier. Cleared Cainhurst Castle.

Which boss should I tackle next?

This is about the Rifle Spear and how flat Arcane Gems will apply unscaled damage per individual bullet, making it far more powerful than they intended. It was pretty much a given it would be fixed.

seems like they will announce the expansion after E3. Also they say it will be big....bigger than what people will be expecting.

My impression of the BB is opposite, it's very much about combos since only a few of its moves actually have range.

I've seen a few good PvPers use it and haven't seen so much in terms of comboing... Running R1 has great range I think?

Whoa, thanks man. Arcane Rifle Spear fix confirmed, good.

Maybe we can now get chunks as drops in Chalice Dungeons? That would be awesome. Getting rocks wasn't really a problem.
Great news about being able to store more Bullets/Vials.

Also really curious about buffs and nerfs, but I think that will take time to come out...

Post-E3 announcement makes sense, since Shu decided to just drop it on Twitter instead of waiting one month.

AND BIGGER THAN THE STANDARD SOULS EXPANSION? OH YES.

Oh, I guess I didn't get that you only mean comboing in PVP sense.

Regardless, BB doesn't have that much range outside a few attacks (and in PVP that reduces it down to like, one or two attacks since the ones I do know have range is the charged R2 and L2 which is slow). The two handed mode acts more like a one handed sword mode in terms of how it attacks.

600 blood vials and bullets. Finally! Farming echoes to stock up on vials was the most annoying thing in the game.

Really liking the new update notes, more coop/invasions in dungeons and a much bigger storage capacity for vials and bullets.

Edit: misread, password matching was changed

Did the blog/update note say that? If so, holy shit!

An expansion bigger than previous Souls dlc would be amazing!

i'm trying to summon someone to help with rom and unlike all the other bosses no one is showing up. i've tried it standing infront of the fog door and at the bonfire, waiting for like 5 minutes, but neither works.

is the co-op still bugged? I wonder if I just somehow broke the networking. Or does no one want to fight rom?

I helped out plenty of people with Rom. Maybe your level is too high or low. I always did it at around 50 to 60.

They can still improve it. The last patch added loading screens and they didn't even list it in the patch notes.

it was said during the livestream (which all those patch info came out)

They never confirmed that the dlc will be bigger than previous souls game's dlc. They just said the dlc contents will be big, probably bigger than you would imagine.

They did say that it's according to their plan at the moment, and if they can get all the things done according to the time schedule.

I wish there was an item like in Dark Souls 2 which lets you re-allocate your stats. I'm in NG+ now and would liked to have tried a DEX build, it's going to feel a bit samey just using Ludwigs Holy Blade again. Are there any other STR weapons worth using aside from the hammer?

Might be done for good. Controller RIP, ripped it in half. Abhorrent beast on NG+++ with nerfed armor, no cheese, is so frustrating. Why? Fighting on the damn roof! I had him down twice to 10%, used only 4 vials each time, then he one shots me both times.

Past NG++ is a bore unless you manufacture. And if you manufacture like I have, you might replace all fun with frustration. I failed to make it fun apparently. haha DLC next, maybe.

Logarius' Wheel is super great STR weapon and looks cool. Having a blast with LW +8 at Forbidden Forest.

The patch sounds good except matching other players regardless of levels with passwords, all those guys who were saying that they "one shotted" a boss will actually be able to do it now I guess. :S

Also can't wait to invade a lvl 60 guy and his lvl 150 friend, if this is indeed correct and not a mistranslation From literally breaks the mp with this (both co-op and invasions).

Nice to see the storage capacity for vials and bullets have increased. I would have also liked to see an option to have your other items in storage automatically fill up as well for convenience.

This is what worries me also. Especially considering you can't invade unless host has someone helping so there is high probablity to get into situation with much higher level people.

Vaatividya just released a story/lore explanation video, i'd say it's pretty good from what i've seen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjWOy6ioVHI)

You have to eat three before fighting
Gehrman
, the buff stays if you die but I dont ate them before that moment so I am not sure if the buff stays if you eat them separately in the history.

I want to believe your summon will be capped at the host current lv like a normall coop so I dont worry, still fully upgraded weapons with chalice gems will make a difference.

Unless From became amateurs or something, it should scale down the level to match the host.

This is what worries me also. Especially considering you can't invade unless host has someone helping so there is high probablity to get into situation with much higher level people.

It sounds like a really bad decision and I can't understand what's with From and pvp in this game, if they didn't want people to get invaded why include invasions and a covenant dedicated to them in the first place? no red soapstone, no arena, no human state equivalent for people who want to pvp with no co-op involved and now this...wtf From?

I want to believe your summon will be capped at the host current lv like a normall coop so I dont worry, still fully upgraded weapons with chalice gems will make a difference.

Unless From became amateurs or something, it should scale down the level to match the host.

Hopefully you are right guys. :(

This is interesting, and should be tested. I test frame timings by transferring captured video from the PS4 to a usb hard drive, then to my PC where I play it with Media Player Classic. It's simple, but it works. If this is true, it reveals a bit more about the intent of the designers, and it makes a lot of sense. You trade speed for spread. However, this wouldn't have impact on parrying at point blank, which is what I'm talking about.

I have, and I've been showing you the results. I have no idea what you mean by "simulating trades;" the trades in that trading demonstration video were all attempts to parry the attacks with judged reactions (it's called a trading demonstration for the purposes of this conversation, not because he was actively trying to trade), and as I've said using the blunderbuss changes nothing. I've literally done everything you asked for in this post that applies to the situation I'm talking about (parrying at point blank, in the style of the Souls games, so distance/bullet travel time isn't a factor), though I'm not sure what the percentages you talk about are meant to be. This even includes playing on a monitor and with a wired controller (my friend plays on a monitor and his controller's battery is bad so he has to play wired; is there definite proof that the controller communicates using the wire in addition to charging with it though?). Also, getting to Father Gascoigne takes like 10 minutes at most from the start of a new game if you know where you're going, come on.

QuickSilver bullets and Bloodpacks now can be stored up to 600, up from 99.
Seriously!? I'll never understand why they didn't just use Dark Souls' scheme for healing again (and apply it to bullets too). What could possibly be the point of a limit that high? The metagame of making sure you have more in stock is already trivial and adds nothing to the game, this just makes it even more of a bad joke. Did they really think Demon's Souls had a good solution for this and wanted to go back to it? Just another one of those design decisions that really makes me wonder what exactly goes down at From.

God, I look so negative with these posts. Just to make things clear, I love a lot about this game and its basic ideas, I'm just baffled by significant aspects of it. I wouldn't argue about these things if I didn't have passion for the game.
