Bloodborne |OT++++| Now with Trusty Patches

Thanks.. played for a bit and got wastes in that first house. Lol.. came back with a vengeance. .

So I'm not familiar with the lore or story and have no clue as of yet on why I'm doing what I'm doing in game, does this change as the game progresses?

Edit: which weapon is the most fun to start with?

There is a little straight storytelling and more analysis on your own, read weapons stuff, items stuff, even the blood gems and random items have some sort of information around the world, the game itselft wont tell you a straight asnwer to those questions but items and your own interpretation take a big role understanding the game, if you have the motivation.

For a fun, more decisive, easy play go for the Axe , if you are a more specialist player with long range and more mmm positioning, the Cane

what kind of gems should i use for holy moonlight sword ?
my status
Vit: 50
End: 25
Str: 25
Ski: 12
Arc: 50

I haven't tried out the moonlight sword myself, but in this guide it says:

Holy Moonlight Pie Sword
Basic version, no reason not to. This is tied for #1 best Arcane-type weapon that doesn't require a specific Rune to even function, in my opinion. Wheel is the other contender. These two weapons together compliment each-other well, so don't think you have to pick just one!

2x Radial, 1x Triangle

Radial x2
Up to 19.3% All Atk, 5.4% Atk vs Open Foes from Gargoyles in Pthumeru
8usmn4r2 Layer 2 main area, go up the round elevator, through the room with the cannon

Triangle x1
Up to 21.5% All Atk, +15 Arcane from Amygdala boss in Isz
ghgvhb2d Layer 3 boss

It sounds good, although I wish this sword would scale entirely on arcane.

was there anything ever done in the game with that house in Hemwick Charnel Lane I remember knocking and just getting that creepy noise back, but never solved who was in it?

One close to the elevator? If you go there before night you get different dialog. Don't remember there being anything else.

Can someone explain to me how I can do chalice dungeon co-op etc? I can't seem to find anyone. I'm at the makeshift altar and have already beaten all dungeons so I should have that short ritual root chalice, although I can't really find it in either inventory or for sale :lol But considering I've beaten the boss who supposedly dropped it, I should have it somehow, yes? The messengers don't have it either, but on the other hand, I'm not in the same version of NG as I was when I got my platinum and I've removed all my other chalices because they'd been deleted from the server? Is that why I can't find anyone? My level is quite high as well, 221.

Edit: Found it under key items! Still can't find anyone though.

Which dungeon are you trying to do?

Glyph codes would be a help if you don't fully know which one. I'd gladly co-op with you.

I'm just trying to find a good co-op area to help others, or maybe do some pvp :) So, no particular dungeon at all, unless there's a dedicated one in the community for pvp etc, beyond nightmare frontier of course.

You sure you don't have password? Also lvl220 is a lot and might gate you away from most of the players. Using Short Root Chalice is pretty slow though so might want to wait for awhile before canceling it.

Some good Co-Op ones exist, such as the Fextra Life community ones (from the Wiki). It would be good to stick with the Pthumeru ones ideally, I'd guess. There is also a pretty hefty amount of CoOp to be found in the DLC areas.

I cannot speak for PVP stuff but I do believe that your level is way too high for that, I remember reading the PVP "meta" was 120, although I could be wrong.

Yep, no password :) Indeed, I'm very high level, but according to the level calculators I've seen, I should be able to find players as far below me as around 160. Granted, I didn't try to wait all that long, like you say. I'll try that next time.

Alright, good idea, that's the wiki I use most if I need something. Although my level is high, I've had a lot of luck with pvp (finding, not winning lol) at the frontier still.

Is it possible for a magic build in this game? What's the magic like and is it OP?

Yes you can do 'magic' build but I really don't recommend that for the first time around since it requires a lot of work to get going and most of the good stuff is in the end game. I don't really find it to be OP especially compared to Bloodtinge builds.

edit.

If the range goes that low then you should definitely get some coop action. Do you have worldwide on the network settings? Also have you done one FRC Chalice? Most people keep doing those instead of the pre-made ones.

So, I picked Violent Past, chose Saw Cleaver, Blunderblush, killed the damn fat dude with an axe after he killed me like 10 times, opened a few shortcuts and went to the sewers, meet a lady that gave me some stuff that I dont know what are they, ran past probably everyone on the last part before the first boss, brought him to his fucking knees the first attack he did, I felt fucking good lol, but he killed me immediatly afterm the doll was awake now but I dont have echoes to level, so far I think I made some progress.

Some tips? or I just keep going till I kill that beast?

Don't tackle Cleric Beast until you explore all parts of that sewer and get a better set of armor. It'll help with the damage you take, though not by much. In the beginning you're practically made out of paper.

I mean, you can quickly get enough echoes to level 4 or 5 times which will also better help you understand the Dodge and attack timing. I spent about an hour before I faced cleric beast the second time (on my first run through) and when I finally went back to him he was much easier.

here is a big tip, have you picked up a insight yet? (you will find one in the sewer) if you have run back to lamp, consume insight and go to hunters dream..

now you can talk to the doll and start levelling up before you beat the first boss :)

Yes I picked up something behind some big ass rats in the sewers, after went and got killed at the cleric beast andI awoke at the hunter's dream where the doll was alive :O

What's Good example of a Bloodtinge build? Keep in mind that I have no clue of the terminology of this game.

I tend to stick with Gaf for new games and avoid the internet to avoid having something ruined for me.

I hate jack of all trades type character builds.

Basically you just dump all points to Bloodtinge stat up until it hits 50. You need to level your Vitality and Endurance also but that goes for all builds. Bloodtinge builds are based around guns and two melee weapons and other of those melee weapons is in the DLC so you might not have the other option. With Bloodtinge build though I would recommend it for second playthrough since most of the stuff is gated behind rather hard content especially for lower level characters. But if you want to get Bloodtinge build first time through I would recommend to get your Skill up to 25 as the weapon you would be using scales with it and you can use few different weapons before getting it and once you get the weapon for that build you can start dumping more points into Bloodtinge.

What I would recommend for first timers is to go for 'quality' build which is about leveling your Strength and Skill equally as most weapons scale with either of those stats. If you want to have more specific build you need to pretty much decide do you want to use slow hard hitting weapon or fast not-so-hard hitting weapon. If you want former go with more Strength and if you want latter go with more Skill.

This game is fucking intense. I'm right at the beginning and saw a large group of guys between 6 to 10 and decided to fight them.

I barely made it out alive. I had to use 4 blood vials.

After I killed the other shooters I didn't initially see I thought it was over and then my wife yells FedEx and scared the shit out of me and when my eyes got back to the tv two dogs killed me in that split second.

What's worse is that we weren't expecting anything from FedEx so it wasn't for us so I died for no reason.

Is there a way to pause this game? I haven't figured it out.

No. Unless hitting the ps button "pause" the game, which i have no idea or ever tried.

I have kids. Young kids. Kids who require attention at random times during the day. Plus there's my wife who tends to be a unique person when she sees me really into a game.

Yup... I hope I don't lose too much per death.

All you really lose is your echoes, and you can usually recover those. But try to backtrack out of an area if someone needs your attention. If you're clearing out places as you go, there aren't a whole lot of enemies that will continue to chase you passed a certain distance.

Although if your wife is purposefully distracting you, I suggest asking her to not do that with this game since you can't actually pause it.

Go to settings and exit to the menu. It's essentially a long drawn out way to pause, but once you load your game again you will be in the exact or at least very close to the spot where you exited the game.

And the reason for this is two fold: one is the game is usually online. The other is that if you could pause during tense moments, you'd be able to catch your breath and relax and calmly beat the boss. Part of the joy of these games is 5 minute boss fights where the last minute or two is mostly about remembering to breathe properly as you finally execute what is necessary to win. Being able to pause would wreck that.

It's a contentious design decision but that's why it's there and outside of boss fights, the quit from the menu is identical to pausing other than being slightly more annoying to do.

Finally got a copy of this game yesterday. Was hesitant because I never really got into the Souls games, always ended up lost and bored and just gave up.

But yeah, so far I really like it. More enjoyable than Souls IMO.

Can someone answer this for me? I just bought Bloodborne GOTY edition from the PSN Store. I don't see a separate download for the Old Hunters expansion in my dl list. Is the expansion included in the main game download?

I still have trouble mapping that whole area even after going through it multiple times but the fast way to get to the boss is very simple after you find it.

Oh great now I just Hogwarts'd the stairs.

I really love the level design in this game. I hate every level I start until I start to figure it out and unlock all the shortcuts. So rewarding!

So. Research Hall makes no sense. The floor layout is very confusing. I never know where I am.

There are small plates with the numer of the floor in each floor.

Ok, so I beat BSB today, with the help of the npc summon right outside and I have no clue where I'm supposed to be going.

I died sometime after and got a cutscene where I was in this prison cell, I'm thinking..ok no big deal and head out. Every which way I go there are these medium size dudes with what looks like a bag of body parts on their shoulder and they wipe me out in one hit. Games been pretty manageable and a hell of a lot of fun so far...but this area blows!!

That area is optional so if it feels too hard just warp out and come back later. Also as Orochinagis said there are bunch of goodies such as upgrade materials that are used to get your weapon to +4 - +6.

Cool, will have to check it out and see if I can find it lol. I remember one way I went I ran into a boss, Darkbeast something, I got mutilated and hopes that wasn't where I needed to be yet. Thanks to you and Orochinagis for the help!!

Finally got the platinum last night, my first ever. I would say it was remarkably easy but I'm dramatically overleveled and I had a bunch of cooperators help me with all of the bosses. NG it is! Looking forward to buying the dlc too

Whoops, so should I load up the save from before I beat gehrman? I already beat cleric beast on NG+... (I assume I made a type before and it goes NG>NG+>NG++>...) so it might be too late

Edit: yeah looking at my save files, it is too late. bummer, I guess I'll have to git guder
