I don't need portability in my life, I have an iPad and an iPhone. I had a Macbook Pro before (got it for the price of one KFC meal - long story cut short - I have a very thick brother) and I loved it to pieces, it would mean that I could sit downstairs and actually try and socialise with parents as opposed to being so antisocial sitting up in my room. I love OSX. The price of Macbook Pro will probably equal the price of my gaming PC - so either way, the price is set quite high.

Macbook Pros are stunning but far, far too expensive for the specs, have no disc drive, and a maximum of only 250gig storage.

It's my dream machine but they're simply impractical, even ignoring cost.

I have an external disk drive if I ever needed it. 250GB of storage is fine, everything is 'in the cloud' (hate that fucking term, everything is online... deal with it) and all my music needs are spotify, so no worry about that.

True. I enjoyed that thread for the wtf factor and absurdity if anything. But it is established that those things will be in that thread and aren't generally posted elsewhere.

You don't want to narc on people having fun but sometimes it's like "dude this isn't appropriate here". If I was a mod I would have just made an announcement about creepy behaviour and let the thread continue. But it doesn't really matter as the OT will be up soon and when it goes to community it's pretty much free to talk about whatever.

I understand. Guess I just thought Tashbrooke 'slabelling of some people "freaks" rather off putting. I think the mods would have been better off just closing it for being a community/OT thread before the OT.

I don't think he (or I) is 100% serious with his bashing of creepy anime/Animal Crossing folks, please don't feel too offended. Overzealous japanophiles are just easy prey. Y'know, cos they creepy an shit. :p I know your tongue is fully in your cheek with your avatars and stuff and its certainly fine to enjoy these games and comics, but you must recognise that there are certain very visible elements of those communities that elicit a definite ick factor from most normies.

Anyway, I may take the piss but I don't judge really, and neither I think does Tashbrooke. Brb, gonna go wank to some AC hentai or summink.

I like some of her stuff, but that whole Modern London-based folk scene strikes me as very calculated and cynical, from Noah and the Whale up to Mumford et al. I probably shouldn't get into it right now, but if you want to get my ire up, ask me about these bands at the meet and I'll froth at the mouth for 5 minutes :)

Pretty voice though lol.

2.Play those songs slightly differently with a few changed lyrics for the course of two records
3.????
4.Profit

They are so fucking dull man. Not even bad particularly, just utterly devoid of ideas.

Edit: If I hear that dead stop unified acapella vocal harmony, followed by an energetic jingle jangle hoedown of banjos one more time, goddamn. Change the record boys!

Or better yet, just stop altogether.

So long as there's a big chorus coming in 30 seconds. Ugh. I feel like boy bands standing up for the key change is more honest.

I once embarrassed myself for railing against them while getting my hair cut, only for the hairdresser to tell me they were her husbands favourite band and that she got him the cd for Christmas and he loved it (despite the album having come out months before Christmas - you'd think you'd have your favourite band's cd a long way before then...). At which point I realised that other people have a very very different relationship to music than I do.

Yeah, I realised it as I was speaking and I could see her expression souring. And when I finished she was like "well um, errr, I think they're great and they have good songs" and I thought yep, this is why people didn't like me at school.

So yesterday whilst in the IRC Chat, I had a great chat with KentPaul and JTourettes about working out!

I'm hoping that from this day onwards things are on the up, I got my first proper pay slip from my new job (£500 more than what my last place paid me) - I am going to sign up to the gym very soon. I'm going to be able to save up more money to get myself out of debt, treat myself a little bit and buy some things that could potentially bring happiness. Two of my closest friends that I pushed away around three years ago are now back to being my closest friends - all I need now is the social life and I will be happy (in theory)

So lets see what happens! :)
