From what I remember no one at school played the actual game with the cards. I think we just got a Pokemon, and attached energy to it, which made it more powerful, which didn't make much sense at all. I also remember that the cards were banned at the end of Year 3 or 4 too, because there were fights and arguments over the cards.

Also the South Park Episode Chinpokomon is hilarious since it exactly gets what Ninj feels about Pokemon.
Hahah, I actually had Pokemon cards when I was a kid, but I didn't really play with them that much. Now when I think of it, I might actually still have them somewhere...
I picked Slowpoke mainly cause I have huge sympathy towards that kind of lazy cute little creatures and partly cause of the meme (it just suits me so very well).

Edit: first anime I saw was Wind of Amnesia. Then Guyver (bio booster armour is coming to get you!), then Fist of the North Star. Then I saw Akira, a genuinely great movie. It's the only one I own, on glorious Bluray.
