Most of you range from 20ish+

On a sidenote, I noticed you're being much friendlier recently, I like that. :p

It wasn't really unfriendly, it was just a bit of teasing. Either way, I don't stay sour with people for long. Grudges are silly things to keep.

Best present ever! The Lego DeLorean is pretty slick too, I hope to finally build mine over the break.

Almost done with shopping. Booked tickets for Hobbit: DOS in IMAX 3D for next Saturday. Only one IMAX screen in the whole of Ireland I think, so I'm travelling up to Dublin with the friends for it. Also have a maths exam the day before, but it'll be a piece of cake.

Your first mistake was Origin. Just Origin in general. I've never been able to get my Origin-only games from the EA Humble Bundle.

Dead Space 3 was pretty much a disaster as well. The first two are legit awesome, some of my favourite games ever (and I don't even like horror that much). Third one is all shooting, with stupid human enemies which you're given ridiculous amounts of ammo to kill. Also, microtransactions. Blech.
I only it it for co-op with a friend, only reason I have origin is for bf3 and four is dog shite

Honestly it doesn't really matter how old you are, my first meet was at 19,i couldn't afford it the year before, the first one was a bit overwhelming but it's still super fun, I wanna have a BritGAF at the beach edition for summer

I'm not good with socialising in large groups.

Don't let that stop you. I'm not exactly that great at socialising myself, in fact I'm incredibly quiet to the point where I only really speak when spoken to. Now obviously I don't want it to come off as me pressuring you or anything, but from the pictures I've seen of meets, they seem like good fun.

Fun and really inclusive. I've found myself far more confident surrounded by strangers after socializing with GAF.

Honestly, you guys are tempting me so much!

I'd love to be at a meet, but would feel weird being the only "kid". Missing out on "older person" talk, drinking and general chitchat really. I'd likely end up feeling babied a lot, if you guys understand what I mean?

All of that would probably mean I keep quiet. :v

It's always a little scary meeting new people at first, but after a few minutes it will be great. Plus in March you turn legal!

We're a pretty good mix of ages here. Nobody is all that out of place.
I have one of those faces where I get mistook for being younger, as well as people saying the face fits the age and, unfortunately, some people say I look way older than I actually am. I think, if anything, that was one of the reasons why I was so close to just turning round and catching the train back to Birmingham. I'm glad I didn't though. My age was touched upon very briefly and then forgotten about. Yay for being accepted.

Guys, you should totally play this game:
ZGv9Vhi.jpg

I'm jaded as fuck with games nowadays, but I've had a blast today playing this. It's loads of fun, looks real purdy and is a just a nicely paced action game, it's really concise. And it's one of those rare games that makes it fun to shoot dudes again!

The comic style cut scenes are lush too.
Better watch Ninjaboi closely then.

I started playing this last weekend. I was hilariously bad and had an audience of Tash, Dapper and Selfish Pizza as it was the day after the meet. Need to go back to it as what I played was extremely fun.

Lizard Lick Towing was also a new discovery that day.

I've locked down the second date.

She's pretty new in London and she's a bit of an architecture nerd, so I'm going to take her sight-seeing & for a nice lunch.

I will, of course, be bugging Jimbor for a restaurant suggestion nearer to the time, as always.

I don't mean to be headfirst over it, but this girl is really interesting & fun. I'm looking forward to getting to know her better.

(We've already decided the third date will be getting competitively smashed at a rock club night local to me. I suggested that as the second date but she said it'd be a better third date. I think I know what that means. Dawwwwg.)

Finally finished wrapping Christmas presents! Just have to run down to the post office for 08:30 and be back home by 10:00. Still have to write a dozen or so Christmas cards and send them to Japan though.

Despite having a horrible cold, had a pretty good weekend. Offered Kieron Gillen drinks half a dozen times and sat on Keith Stuart's knee.

Oh, and it looks like I might have finally secured a cheap place in London from a family friend - cheaper than Newport - huzzah!

Was that on that Really channel? Quality entertainment

Hope your weekend was fun mate, you seemed a bit bummed on Friday.

Final week at work until January starts today, aww yeah. But with a skeleton staff and like three weeks work to do in five days, um, yeah.

Fake edit: just as I was about to hit post, I get a callout to a site I'm not even responsible for. For a funky light switch. Fuck my life! I think it will be late finishes this week. :/

Wish I had a cat. Cats are bloody cool.

They can be the coolest little fuckers on the planet.

They can also be a humongous pain in the arse.

They can even be both simultaneously. One thing I do love about our cat is that he sticks his tongue out at you when he's got one over on you. I was looking all over for him the other night and couldn't find him anywhere. I eventually glanced up on top of the kitchen cabinets and I was greeted with this:

Yeah, he knows when he's won hide 'n' seek. The little prick.

Saw Hobbit on Sunday.

Watched it in 3D HFR (High Frame Rate).

I wouldn't recommend it. Some scenes were improved by it, but the ultra fluid movements in character heavy as opposed to CGI heavy scenes were jarring, as if you're watching something in rapid-rewind.

I was very aware of the speedy stuff during the film, (which was great by the way) so it was kind of off putting.

Yea I saw it in 3D HFR as well. Really awkward, like if you aren't fully concentrating it goes at double speed.

Doubt I'll watch the 2nd film in it... or at all really since I hated the first film.

That's how I saw the first film and I fucking loved it. For me, it was a proper 'wow!' moment. Can't wait to see the second film, 3D HFR again. I wish every film had the option.
