Getting Bioshock Infinite on launch was brilliant because of the discussion that surrounded it all. Sometimes getting things at launch is just like a bit of an event that everyone gets involved in. It's partly why I get attracted to buying consoles at launch, because the 3DS was great for that.

OK not really, but Assassin's Creed 2 is worth seeing through to the end. Also I hear Dark Souls is a great game that could possibly be enjoyed alongside a game like GTAV. And put your dick away, GTAV isn't actually out yet.

I love that thread because what started out as high-and-mighty NeoGAF laughing at poor, dumb, alpha-obsessed misc's reaction to the situation morphed into GAF posters responding in the exact same way highlighted in the OP.

After barely escaping the last sector the B GAF once again leaves a repair station heading into the unknown
Seems they stumbled upon a firework show the crew take a breather to all hang out and watch this together. Even Coldman was moved he never noticed how beautiful space can be at times. After a few drinks and joke they know they must move on as the enemy is always following behind
Or in front, the new sensors allow us to see the carnage we cause on enemy ships. As they burn Coldman takes a missile to the face which reducing our damage output knocked out 2 laser cannons. This cause a stalemate as the enemy shields can not be penetrated by 2 hits. Coldman works like mad while the rest of ship takes a beating the enemy has a EMP which affected our shields then bombed both shield bay and engines. Coldman takes another missile to face (no idea how this didn't kill him outright like it should have) just as he finishes off the enemy and crew get around to fixing what is left of ship.
The B GAF sets off from the last battle wondering what is next, pirates,slavers,Xbots but nope something much much much worse
SPACE HIPPIES
The quest marker is our route so we travel on to spread love and peace
fuck hippies....we somehow have less hull and facing a warship with overcharged Shields , EMP and Big Ass Laser cannon. Coldman starts to power up weapons when the shields collapse due to Big Ass Laser Cannon and his weapons bay hit with EMP. Crippled we are hit by asteroids damaging engines and shields. then
Big Ass Laser one shots us and everything is over because of goddamn hippies and I watch as pieces of B GAF float in space along with bodies of brave crew
WAIT A MINUTE SOMETHING IS OFF WITH THE FACES
this all makes sense now

LEGO games are the shit. I took down the Balrog, don't fuck with me man! And I generally don't buy games to put three hours in and leave them.
Whilst GTA V will be a landmark, it's still expensive, and it'll be played online for years to come. Might as well just hold off to later on in the year- I'd only be buying it for the hype.
Regarding the classic collections in your lists - Jak 2 is an acquired taste and if you have a GTA habit that needs a fix it might take the edge off a little....Jak 3 supposedly improves things for people (i preferred 2) but there's too much vehicle stuff. They're very similar though so if you dislike one then bin them both, although they hold up well.
The Ratchet games i've just replayed....the first is ok, the second and third change things up significantly introducing the familiar destroy everything maximum carnage mechanic. Again i liked 2 the best, others liked 3....however the differences are minor, and if you try 2 (you can pretty safely skip the first and go back to it if you want) and hate it you can pretty much bin the collection (although the comedy moments in 3 are ace).

Jak 2 is a bad game video game. Do not play it. And given that Jak 3 seems very much informed by Jak 2, I imagine it's not that great either.
The Ratchets can probably be skipped, or just play the first one and leave the rest for when the "jumpin' on stuff and collectin' shit" urge takes you.
