Anybody think there'll be some deals to get the game at 50 or so from now till release? Haven't pre ordered yet I'm going to but don't really want to support Activision with a full 60 =(

According to the Kmart rep on CAG, Activision put out a hard MAP on this and won't allow too many deals. They know it's going to sell so hot that they won't need deals on it and that deals will only eat into profits. They are being pretty strict regarding retailers and this game, so it is forcing some retailers to be creative with how they are doing deals on it.

Right now on Amazon it's $56.99 and you can get $10 in promo credit, which isn't too bad.

I'm going with Kmart's deal personally, as I think it's the best. The deal is for launch week of MW3 and Skyrim: Buy $110 worth of games, get a $50 gaming coupon. There is also another deal where if you buy MW3, you can get $20 off a 4000 MS point card, so essentially half off of CoD Elite. Previous gaming coupons can also be used to lower the price, so as I have a $20 coupon from BF3 and a $30 from Batman, I will be paying roughly $100 for Skyrim, MW3, and 4000 MS points ($170 worth of stuff normally) and be getting a $50 gaming coupon back, which will net me Saint's Row 3 for $10.

Yes. They're private match options. There are no Wager Match modes in matchmaking.

Right. IW could do a Double XP playlist with those game modes or something like that but at launch the only way to play them is in private.

Man that really just killed a lot of my excitement for this game. Probably 75% of my multiplayer Black Ops time was spent in those modes.

It's a bit disappointing yeah but you can always just invite some Gaffers into the game.

[EDIT]: Hey Radec, this vid has all of the images and unlock levels of the weapons including the Bouncing Betty and all of the tactical equipment.

This one has a the proper Focus emblem and a lot of the attachments and camos.

No media that I can find. Blops was great on Wii too. Looking forward to finding out what killstreaks were left in and how the maps were changed. The only thing they've made a statement on that is definitively left out are the carryover prestige tokens you get from past games.

Definitely interested in seeing how the PC version turns out. I still haven't bought MW2 after the dedicated servers fiasco, and I skipped Black Ops simply out of lack of interest, but I would definitely be interested in MW3 if they come through on the PC version.

At least in MW2, you got an extra class slot every OTHER time you prestiged. I found I didn't really need more than 1 personally. But I'm always swapping shit around anyway.

Seriously, so accurate, powerful and plus it sounded great in COD4, hope they didn't neuter it.

Hmm, I wonder if because of these new proficiencies they made vanilla guns noticeably less efficient so leveling up guns seems more important.

I think you will be disappointed, its a starting gun so it wont have the 0 recoil from cod4. in mw2 the ACR filled the overpowered 0 recoil slot, but now it looks like all the weapons have some recoil by default, at least before the Kick proficiency. then who knows.

the one gun that has a chance selling me on this is the spas 12 with the damage proficiency, I love a satisfying shotgun.

As long as the gun sounds the same and looks the same I am good. It's actual quality in bullet damage/accuracy is irrelevant to me using it, because honestly in CoD you can kill with anything and do a lot of work if you are just good at the game.

In CoD4 I could get first place constantly with a scorpion rocking an ACOG on it. xD

I guess BLOPS will remain the best PC COD. It's a really good game too. Shame MW3 couldn't build on that. I probably could have sunk $60 into it one last time. Going backwards on the economy system and unlock system was one thing, but taking away ranked dedicated servers just makes it very hard to buy. An FOV slider and awesome impressions of the P2P netcode could tip the scale, but a preorder just isn't going to happen.

You can earn tokens for the old games at any point — doesn't necessarily have to be before MW3 comes out. Might be worth plugging away at it slow and steady if you really want the extra token. Still, it would've been nice if they had announced this feature earlier.
