Call of Duty: Modern Warfare |OT| Zero Dank Thirty

i hate that bridge map. cover is pretty far if they trap you because spawns rarely ever flip, they will just airstrike you constantly, entered a game late and died 5 times in a row just spawning in the first 20 seconds.

they have your spawn in the sights from the bridge. so calling in strikes is easy.

Please tell me its not world at war veteran hard! :messenger_grimmacing_
no its actually not that hard, sometimes u get nades thrown at you but if I was to compare difficulty to other games in previous years veteran feels like hardened. checkpoints are given frequently.

I'm playing this on PC and loving it.

I'm waiting on playing the campaign til they patch the choppy cinematics, but I can live with that.

All I've really played so far is TDM, but I friggin love it. Love the bigger maps, love the ttk/ttd, and love that I can play with console players.

We'll see how it develops over the next year, but I'm really liking this more than the more recent offerings.

I gave up on the single player after giving it a second chance. Its prettier than the previous cods, but that's it. Feels the same game I've been playing for 10 years, even worse on the enemy AI side.

Is it just me or the weapon sounds have been downgraded somewhat? In the 2v2 alpha I was utterly amazed by the gunplay. It is still very good but somewhat lacking now compared to that. Did I just overrate it in my memory or anyone else noticed this? To be fair, I have only played the campaign so far, but I assume there is no difference in the sounds between modes.

have you tried the various sound option mixes.

I did. I found the main option to be the best among them (called "home theater", I think), but I remember the weapons sounding insanely punchy and now I don't have that feeling.

ye they probably altered them a bit. at least they dont sound like airsoft and paintball guns like some of the older games.

Yep, it's still among the best, but it's missing that extra that made them feel like more realistic. But if they dowgraded them then I can't understand why. As far as I know everyone was amazed by them and were praising them. I will try the MP tomorrow, maybe the campaign just has a different mixing with the VO, music and everything.

I don't understand. "Sorta-kinda" from the OP just confuses me. Is this a HD-remaster with slightly better graphics or a new game with a new campaign?

On Pro the fans blow up in some menus. My guess is uncapped framerate.

New game with new campaign. Story is a prequel to CoD4 but retcons certain aspects.

I'm confused. Is this game free to play? Because when I open the Blizzard launcher, all I see is "install" instead of a "buy now" link.

Blizzard does with all their game(s). You can physically see them in the launcher, but you have to own the game in order to play it. I bet it would prompt you buy it on their storefront.

I feel like they’ve made trophies more about doing things in-game than finishing chapters, etc. played for a couple hours and I’ve finally received my first trophy. Thought it was weird when looking back at other CoD’s.

Did they improve the performance of the base ps4 version.? It was rough during the beta, so I am curious if they have optimised it for the final game...

So game is being killed on Metacritic user scores by Russians for being anti-Russian propaganda of the worst kind.

So without spoiling, can someone please confirm or deny is it really like that? Is it that classic Russians-bad, Westerners-good narrative?

The end of the campaign has me a bit hype. The pacing was great imo. When they opened the files and all the names I heard....... I’m hype. Thought there would be one more mission after that.

I just can't seem to get it together. It feels like I'm not going with the flow of the game and keep getting shit on.

I really want to get the hang of it, get my game up and start truly enjoying this cause right now it's a slow, frustrating experience

I'm enjoying the campaign so far, and I think I'm getting acclimated to multiplayer, particularly after realizing I could unlock the M4A1 XRK from my blueprints. I felt like I was at a major disadvantage in my first round of games sporting a pea shooter on Thursday night, but not so much in my last few games with a decent load out. I'm hardly setting the world aflame, but I feel like I'm contributing and having fun, which is cool, and my K/D is climbing up.

I'm realizing there's no way I can win a battle of reflexes with some snot-nosed teenager particularly with this low TTK, so I'm being sure to play it more methodically and making sure I get the jump on the opposing player if I hope to win a gunfight. Also, for lots of the TDM maps, having a rocket launcher in tow is money for taking down choppers and scoring easy points. Ground War is also pretty cool, but too chaotic for my blood.

Russians are cartoonishly evil. Also a famous US&allies fuck up is attributed to Russia by the clothing store ad freedom fighter woman. Said woman says the Al-Queda stand-in and the Russians are the same and calls them both terrorists(lol).

What makes it really awkward is that the game takes place in not-Syria and the woman is a West Coast digestible version (not)kurd ala CNN. They're currently allied to Syria and by proxy Russia, as of what, 3 weeks ago? kek

That whole aspect comes across like the fantasy of someone watching too much MSM and believing every word of it. It's worse than anything in the prior MWs, those were at worst action schlock with Russian Baddies(tm) and some edginess, this just feels like mean spirited gunk.

Ive been playing every COD since release, following their multiplayer. I can tell you that even as a veteran, I need about 2-3 days to click into the new MP. No matter how good I was in the last years COD, every new COD MP was a little learning curve. Its not about add ons, just each developer has a different recipe. Slightly higher jumps, longer or shorter TTK, different scope feels etc. Once you learn maps, its easier.

Lol, got like a 5x kill with a Molotov and got some ‘Popcorn’ award

Game is la magnifique as the French say. The Free For All and TDM even flow nicely.

i recommend gunfight to hone ones gun skills and get the muscle memory going. Once the basics are in, its learning the maps as usual.

Disappointed they put the mini map back. Again my eye is drawn to it often instead of the remarkable world in front.

is anybody able to post a link to map layouts? The callous refer to specific locations, no idea at the moment.

Its not a prequel. CoD4 takes place in 2011, this game takes place in 2019. But it is retelling the story in a similar manner.

another point of evidence: the game ends with founding of Task Force 1-4-1, in the OG trilogy TF141 wasnt established until after the events of CoD4.

Ground War can turn into a shitfest most of the time which is expected. Get on a heli, drop on roof, and start sniping like if your name is Simo Hayha. Wow, very skilled

On Ps4Pro it's the best overall FPS...what this game needs over hi res gfx...

Sad to see FPS for X1X dips below usual Ps4. Still Dolby Atmos sound makes up for it. This game in Bass Boost High is pure chaos...stuff on my coffee tables fell over with level where mortars were hitting the embassy like the movie.

Love this game. Will have the platinum tomorrow.

Graphics are insanely good. The sound got a complete overhaul and it's great, which has always been one of the worst CoD characteristics so that's a plus. Multiplayer is the best it has been since Blops 1 for me. Game types are good, feels great, thrilled that there is no half time switching sides in Domination, the customization is great and most of it is quite useful and I haven't been this happy with a set of maps in years.

The campaign was good, but honestly not even in my top 3 overall.

Couldn't be happier with this one.

Like I said in the video comments.

If you have both enhanced systems the X version would be the better version to buy, not because of where it currently sits but because of where it will sit. This is launch, the game will undoubtedly see a dozen updates over the next few months with multiple optimization and performance fixes which will resolve the framerate. This will not only result in matched performance with the Pro but a massive gulf in rendering resolution. Take these early analysis' with a grain of salt, games get a lot of optimization patches which are never revisited by these analysis sites.

Yea, the campaign is pretty much as you'd expect. Funnily enough, the best advertising it got was from the IGN journalists saying how uncomfortable it made them. God knows what they were even referring to.

PRO was the target machine this time, not base PS4.
Looks like it, ps4 framerate seems pretty bottom of the barrel for a COD title. PRO pushing it like it’s supposed to be.

Not great for owners of the Amateur, but I’m glad they pushed the envelope to get most from the higher end system for selfish reasons. Next gen may be pretty damming for the current systems.

What gpu do You have?
Anyway - yeah... I am tired of pc gaming too and understand. There is ALWAYS something to set. Always. I've spent 2k usd on a computer this year yet again... and after over 20 years of pc gaming, I don't feel like ever building another pc

See? That's what I am saying. You can meet the spec with 500usd gpu alone and there can still be problems.
I also have 2070 but don't have the game yet

Might be better to download drivers via the GeForce Experience thingy, I once downloaded drivers from nvidia too thinking they were the right ones and I got unsupported gpu messages too.
