I guess it's good for us Euro-folks travelling to Canada, even though the US dollar is still king.

Thanks, Harper.
Gotta repost today's "what financial crisis?" message from the PMO:
Does a lot of Canada's food come from the US or something?
Kinda surprised there is a noticeable increase. Of course, I am from the US and have never really noticed getting fucked over by the strength or weakness of the dollar, though that might be due to our massive economy.
You'll be approaching 1:1 with the NZ dollar soon, where games are $120!
We make a lot of our own food but something like half of the food that's imported comes from the US.

lowered purchasing power because wages isn't rising should tell you that it affects everyone.Outside of buying crap is this really that horrible? Making Canadian labour cheaper seems like a plus for attracting jobs. Too bad most of the auto industry is leaving Ontario for Mexico.
Imagine if you were earning an American wage.
It's like getting a 25% raise for doing absolutely nothing in a scant 2 years.
Absolutely bonkers.
What's the most scenic place in Canada if I wanted to take advantage of my USD? I like fall colors.

Is this a permanent feature now? What is the outlook for oil. Will it bounce back anytime in the next 5ish years?
Also food is unbelievably expensive now. I want to eat healty, but f--k me, it's wallet draining to try.
Figured I'd bump this for the new 11 year low, settling into 75cents US.
Oil also still hasn't found a bottom, now at $38 per barrel. Guess we're just going to continue getting dragged down with it.
Our funny money's worthless.
Only a matter of time until we're the next Greece and begging the US to invade.
Last I checked, it takes ~5-10 Years for an economic policy to begin taking effect. What you are seeing now is all Harper. For the last decade with a great exchange rate ?
Anyway, it's gonna get worse.
plus tax :/
