This. I hope it doesn't discourage good candidates from running under the NDP banner in the future. When I can recognize Megan Leslie's name from the other side of the damn country, you know she's doing something right. She'll be missed.

Yes she will.

Okay folks, now that we're going to be entering Ontario and Quebec, if Liberals want a majority, they need at least 70 seats in Ont and 50 seats in Quebec. Give or take the extras they picked up in Atlantic.

Same here. Even though I've traditionally been conservative, I want to see Harper gone. On the other hand, I don't want my government wasting a single cent on anything related to marijuana. Ever.

Your government is wasting a ton of money on marijuana right now actually. Legalizing it brings in a lot of additional revenue/taxes, part of which goes towards regulation and penalizing offenders thus making actual spending on it zero. So you're covered if that happens. You can be against it for other reasons based on opinion, but this is just factual and already a proven model in the US.

And I don't even smoke. I have no real care about it other than the revenue tbh.

*sniff* Although it isn't over yet, but it really does feel like every single vote mattered this election.

Especially since it's given us a very fun election result so far.

I feel bad for all the NDP MPs who are losing their seats to the Liberals in the effort to block the Conservatives. I mean, I'm happy if it does stop the Conservatives from winning but it's still too bad that it had to come to this. The Conservatives don't deserve to be competitive in this election.

It ended?

I feel like Canada is clawing it's way back to its former glory ;_;

The invisible hand of the free market killed it because it turns out no one wants to watch sociopaths yelling about how brown people are bad and then yelling about how Canada's tyrannical speech laws get them in trouble when they say brown people are bad

Idiots at my polling station tried to refuse allowing me to vote at first. Had a drivers license which should be sufficient enough to vote (from what I understand) and they started asking for a birth certificate/proof of citizenship. Complained to the person in charge and when she questioned them, they said oh there's no proof, or that they doubt I'm a citizen and that anyone can get a drivers license. After complaining, I was eventually allowed but they said they would be filing an official complaint as they didn't agree with this "rule". But I mean shit, I shouldn't have to go through this just trying to vote.
Am I just being too bitchy here or...

The anti-Harper consolidation wasn't being projected as definitively by the polls as it needed to be.
People weren't willing to risk helping Harper stick around and some great NDP candidates are paying the price.
