Capcom: "Grace And Leon's Sections in Resident Evil Requiem Are Almost Equally Split"

Raft, c'mon man...
At this point, there have been more action oriented REs than "survival horror" ones, and to be fair, the REs have always been about the action - and I'm not talking RE4 levels of action but, it's always been there.

REs were NEVER about "dat atmosphere ®" and the feeling of helplessness by hiding under beds/inside closets like newer horror games do (Outlast/Amnesia/Soma/whatever), they've always been centered around the action-y bits, how could they not when the game gave you pistols, magnums, shotguns, grenade launchers with 3 different types of ammo to boot and rocket launchers to deal with the enemies (and especially in subsequent playthroughs where you unlock infinite ammo) ?

Yes, we all know that RE4 turned things to 11 but this revisionist history that REs were centered around anything else but the shooting bits is strange.

Cheers
There is action and then there is action, and while RE has always had combat, which I like, they haven't "always" been action games. When I say I hate "action RE" I mean RE 4-6 the little snippet we saw of Leon in this game looks like that. RE2 remake was fine with me, but further than that I can't really get with.

yeah, i just wanted a full RE survival horror game and not half survival, half action.... what a mess.

i think this RE ll flop hard.

Yep.
Half action quote ruined it for me.

People just got RE4 remake,2 years ago, theres you action game. RE7-8 was finally back at survival horror mostly
No one gives a shit about RE8 outside of Lady D's tits. RE7 was mostly unremarkable. People clung on to it because they were desperate for that kind of experience after PT's demise. They're both insanely forgettable experiences.

I'll take my crappy action games instead, thanks.

Well they reviewed well, sold well, so plenty people cared. And were far more RE/survival horror than the RE4,5,6
And this came is gonna be a combo of both so dont know how that helps you,,..

RE7 is good, but 8 was a shitshow. Wolves, vamps, puppets, magneto and Hunchback from notre dame. Whoever made that decision can go eat salazars ass.

I preferred RE8. RE4 was a great game, but its not what I look for in a RE game.

Human/Zombie hybrids throwing weapons and shooting you with guns….. I'd sprayed, suplexed and spin kicked past more "zombies" in the first hour n a hald of RE4. than RE-1,2,3, 0 games combined… RE7/8 also had far more traditional level design than RE4-4-6. Thats why I prefer them

i ll say you this, if RE5-6 is the future of this franchise once again i ll for sure see myself out.

But yeah, there ll be always other games to play or even the old RE games to replay.

Exactly.

People saying they want more RE4 = You will get more action games like RE4,5,6.

RE4 is far from classic RE Survival horror. From level design, number of enemies you go through, action QTE scenes, No real Metroidvania level design. Killing 100+ enemies in the first hour is classic RE. Puzzles took a hit.

No1 is saying its not a great game, but people pretending its similar to classic RE are delusional, its the direct reason they got RE5/6. Same action, same non classic RE level design. One being at day time and the other at night, isnt what breaks the RE formula lol

Can't lie, I was disappointed they went back to Leon yet again when Jill has the bigger connection to Raccoon City
Exactly, leon was just for a few hours there. The stars members Chris, Jill, Barry, Rebecca and outbreak characters lived and worked there.

But this is crapcom, so don't expect any logic from them.
