Dragon's Dogma 2 with all the necessary gameplay upgrades, powered by panta rhei engine, and a decent enough story (hell just make it a lore story like Souls), and don't forget B'Z as the theme song artists !

Personally it's my second favourite game of the seventh generation, second only to Demon's Souls. It's got if not the best, certainly the most fun combat from any RPG, it's got a really excellent alternative to standard co-op play (basically you hire the chief party member from other players), it has some of the most enjoyable mini boss battles ever, plus the best dragons in any game. I also really love the game world and it can be brutal at times, but never unfair. It's also got the best 'post game' content I've ever played (more so if you count the huge dungeon in Dark Arisen) and a huge amount of content, customisation and depth.
It's one of those games that's really rough around the edges but it's so much fun and so well designed in its core aspects. For the kind of prices you can pick it up for now, I cannot recommend it strongly enough.

Yep, me too. I wasn't planning on going with any of the consoles this generation (PC instead), but DD 2 would be enough. Insta-buy XBox One, PS4, or WiiU - whichever hardware gets the exclusive. If its exclusive, that is

i wouldn't be unhappy with DMC5. i just prefer DD2 for now.
I'm actually sort of curious about people clamoring for DD2. Is there any indication that Deep Down won't scratch the itch as a Dragon's Dogma successor?
If DD2 gets announced, I'm expecting a lot of reused assets.

We got off easy compared to other capcom franchises though.
I was under the impression Deep Down was just that.
I would find it odd for them to be doing both a Deep Down and Dragons Dogma.
Since they fit the same bill for that genre from what we have seen.

It honestly looks nothing like Dragons Dogma. Dogma is open world, Deep Down is a dungeon crawler, the combat / gameplay is radically different, the lore is different.
Basically the only thing similar between the two games is they have a fantasy setting.
Isn't that just based on what they've shown at this point, which is admittedly little? Do we know the combat is radically different?
You might be right. Did the dev for DC3 openly take a dump on the lead character from the previous games though?
I'm admittedly biased because I want DMC5 as well. But I think a justifiable reason to hold off on DD2 for right now could be that Deep Down will scratch the Dogma itch until a proper sequel for that happens.
Well DD wasn't an F2P procedurally generated dungeon crawler.
