Maybe so, but it's also entirely predictable. In warfare, you adapt or you get conquered and the ideological sides are so far apart that they see themselves an enemies instead of brothers or neighbors with a differing point of view. The mainstream media has long whipped their viewer base into a fervor while getting farther and father away from any semblance of being impartial and the rise of social media platforms and personalities made those outlets look tame by comparison not to mention our elected officials, the supposed adults in the room, are just as likely to utilize dangerous and loaded rhetoric. So here we are, seeing this tragedy used as a political football just like every tragedy before and every tragedy that will be. When any engagement is something positive, as social media has taught us, maybe a database showcasing one's lack of empathy isn't such a bad idea.
