all my friends in liberal groups are now armed. they are terrified of government overreach with Trump using executive orders/emergency powers and using the DOJ for political gains. Imagine if Obama was doing a fraction of that--Can you blame them? Regardless, they think buying a handgun will help them :messenger_confounded:

The main threat most Americans deal with is when the authorities intentionally turn a blind eye towards disruptive rioting and crime, and let it run uninterrupted, releasing violent people, not dispatching troops immediately to protect businesses from riots (as we saw in the BLM riots), etc. That's a form of tyranny too, letting your people be unprotected from crime and chaos.

People whose property is being overrun by rioters or other chaos and the state doesn't intervene to shut it down immediately with lethal force must be allowed to have weapons to take care of it themselves.

Anything that causes people to distrust "random other people" ruling over them (human government) and arming themselves is a good thing :)

Hasan is protected by Twitch. He's had a terrorist on his channel, supports terrorists, advocates political violence, and is just an extremist pos overall. Despite all that, he's been featured in magazines and is so favoured by Twitch that there's a video of the staff singing him 'Happy Birthday'. That someone like him has operated unfettered is very much symptomatic of the extremism which has become more commonplace.

And yeah, Charlie wasn't some crazy wacked out guy, just a bread and butter Christian. You ever see a pastor portrayed in movies where a guy goes to confess his sins? Like you might find him a little weird, but you trust the guy anyway. That's how Charlie seemed to me. Killing him was a huge mistake

The creators have described it as a firing operation. They perform no manual review of the input, so anyone with a vendetta can upload someone's name and get them on the list. And as you yourself pointed out many of the examples already posted on their website don't meet the definition of "promoting or glorifying political violence". Some of the screenshotted posts they had as "proof" were clearly not being made by the person being put on the list, but they got on the list anyways because they had the misfortune of the wrong rando replying to their post.

I hadn't heard of that, but it's entirely possible. Hasan is not subtle in his pro-terrorism beliefs. He's very overt about it and, despite many complaints, Twitch has turned a blind eye to it. I recall seeing that Elon Musk tweeted at Bezos regarding Hasan. It will be interesting to see if anything comes of it.
 
Twitch does protect Hasan, but Twitch also answers to Amazon. If Amazon brings the heat down on Twitch, they would have to answer to their masters.

This is the real reason for the open border policies. It's not about voting. They cannot take America where they want to take it (globalist hell) if America is 80%+ culturally-American, because that would not give them access to enough manpower willing to go along with it when it all kicks off. They would be too outnumbered and facing a broadly unified culture.

Make it more like 50% American and 50% non-American first and they have access to plenty of manpower who would have no problem going along with it.

It's the exact same reason it's happening in a coordinated manner all across the West, and why Western culture is under sustained attack. The strong national cultural identities have to be broken down and the native populations sufficiently diluted.

This assumes that naturalized citizens are incapable of agreeing with right-wing talking points (or that people with several generations of citizenship can't agree with left-wing ones).

They might not agree with all of them, surely, but first or second generation citizens can and do have a range of opinions, including conservative beliefs. They are in the mix as well.

I don't think they should agree with this nightmare scenario in the first place, because it's paranoia meant to justify right-wing authoritarian excess, but some of them already drank that Kool-Aid.

People who have fired shots know that if a robot was actually armored against projectile weapons it would be very hard to destroy

Drones tend to not be armored because they have to fly around, in the Russia-Ukraine War the venerable shotgun is the first line of defense against them because a drone is really just a big robot bird

Now a tank driven by a robot or just an AI core, that would be terrifying and very hard to stop with conventional human-carried weapons

Once you get to robots designed by AI's specifically to kill humans, such as seen in The Second Renaissance, at this point it's game over, human enslavement or extinction is inevitable

To be fair at a range you are standing still and firing at a piece of paper with a bullseye painted on it

Hardly representative of trying to fight an aggressive AI driven robotic platform bristling with weapons meant to kill humans

The Terminator and The Matrix are more representative of how humans fighting robots in a war would go than those cute Boston Dynamics dancing bots

I feel we're not too far off where traditional bullets could become obsolete. Could be completely off base here , but I can imagine a world where these bots carry weapons that emit heat waves that can fo through walls or project sound waves at extremely high volumes that will just permanently blow out your hearing, that kind of shit. I remember reading about this weapon that uses ultra low frequency sound waves that makes your organs vibrate and make you uncontrollably nauseated and disoriented. Maybe I read too much garbage

This is literally the purpose of the second amendment, so good for them. And no, an individual handgun won't help a person against big brother but an armed populace assures the govt stays in check. For example, see how many people have died under communism and what the first act of leftist/socialist/facist/communist (birds of a feather) governments tends to be.
