I've lost all hope for the Superman film franchise if that news continues to be a false rumor.

Nolan's mentoring is probably just "Do what ever you want, but don't reference Batman or my universe. Alright, gotta go. *jumps on Batpod*"

As long as Nolan's doing Batman 3 I don't give a crap about Superman. Uwe Boll could be the director of that one for all I care.

It would be neat if it happened to be a good movie though.

I just realized that Comic Con is like 5 days after Inception comes out. Probably going to use that time to announce Batman 3.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Well DM you got me excited you bastard!

:lol

This news actually made me happy, as it means that "rumor" of Batman 3 name-dropping Supes is definitely bunk. Wooot. :D

Screw it I'm writing World's Finest myself

expect it sometime in the year 2030

Team up with Gary Whitta, it's the only way.

How about Superman Returns 2. It turns out Bizarro is the father of Piano Pusher and Parker Posey cries until Kal Penn stops beating up Superman.

Director Sam Raimi. Comes out Fall of 2010.

I hope they actually at least try to make it more like Gotham, like they did in Batman Begins

Agreed. Though if they show Wayne Manor that's 1/2 the job done right there.

Okay, this whole time I've been pretty relaxed regarding Batman 3 news, because most of it was just rumors, speculation, and such. But the film crew is actually going around Chicago, mapping locations? This is really happening. I'm starting to get hyped.

How do we know it's the normal Batman crew and some people working on another film?

BOF knows some of the crew that works with Nolan. I remember they told him about TDK scouting.

In the earlier post about the Burke and Hare film shoot, I mentioned a source’s experience with Christopher Nolan on the Batman films and Inception.

I forgot to mention that he also said sets were either being constructed, or will soon be constructed, for the third Batman, with the possibility of shooting toward the end of the year. He also said that they were coming under budget at the end of The Dark Knight, so they built a whole extra set (possible usage in the third film).

It's like 2006-07 all over again!

The Superman Returns boondoggle was an example of having no faith in a franchise. It did okay in terms of immediate box office returns, but more importantly, it introduced some story hooks that could have been greatly developed - starting with the dimension of Superman as a father. Some people may not have liked that, but screw it; it was interesting. It wasn't a typical Superman storyline.

They should have given it and Routh another shot.

Why would they go backwards?

Didn't care for TDK, not that any of the filmakers give a shit. Thought it was well made but didn't get into the Heat/Godfather hype at all. I found Begins personally more enjoyable third act nonwithstanding. Very well made and more uh...Batman-ish? TDK to me was a decent crime movie that someone plopped a dude wearing a bat costume into.

Just my thoughts.

Its not backwards. They are completely different movies with completely different goals. I too want something closer to BB, which was much more personal and much more engaging for me.
