Ratings from the fast affiliates were about even in the demo with last week:
Agreed. It might dip a bit more if they continue to not promote it, but at this point Chuck has a small, built-in audience.Screaming_Gremlin said:Pretty much as expected. I doubt we are going to see much variation. Maybe during the spring assuming we get a back 9.
Cool. I've been grabbing the new tracks weekly, as well.Spitz said:Started work on season 4 Soundtrack what i need is good covers for my iTunes of all seasons. I made some by myself but they differ only in the numbers of the season.
Spitz said:I hope the ratings are good enough for at least a back 6 episodes of season 4.
I'm curious if the Zucker firing and Comcast takeover will factor into things at all - either in the decisions being delayed or their outlook on Chuck in particular. You have to figure that they want to make a decision soon, but they might want three weeks of ratings before they make a move on any of the new shows. There are a few that are struggling already like Chase, Outlaw, and Undercovers.Screaming_Gremlin said:I imagine we should find out about the back part of the season in the next few weeks. They are probably going to want to decide before production shuts down. Other wise it will increase the costs quite about to start back up again.

Screaming_Gremlin said:That is the one thing I am worried about with the Zucker firing. I mean, it needed to happen since he was clueless at running the network, but he did keep Chuck around for two seasons longer then any other network would. But I have also heard that NBC displayed Chuck as one of their strategic brands along with 30 Rock, USA Network, and SyFy during presentations to Comcast. So who knows, maybe Comcast will be unusually sympathetic toward it as well.

Spitz said:Didn't now that these decisions are made that early i am fairly new in watching shows live after they air in the US. Chuck here in Germany is still stuck at season 1 and still has no date when season 2 airs.
I'm more a fan of the S1/S2 music, but it's all pretty good.Spitz said:Got all so far listed on Chuckonline.net great stuff but season 3 is still the best for me when it comes to the music. So many great songs in there that i never heard of and would never heard of without Chuck.
Another great episode, i love the Casey and Morgan bits
You have to figure that the Morgan and Alex being in contact will become an bigger issue with Casey sooner or later. That'll be a fun episode.

Screaming_Gremlin said:According to the synopsis for next week he will be back on the show. Not sure as what exactly, but this is what it says, "Meanwhile, as Morgan (Joshua Gomez) prepares the Buy More for a huge video game release, he gets a surprise from Big Mike."

The Renew/Cancel index doesn't mean anything after only one week of the season since new shows premiere high then drop for the most part. Once NBC's new shows stabilize at a ratings level, we'll have a clearer idea of how Chuck stands in terms of renewal prospects.mercenar1e said:"Has Chuck finally ended its multi-season tightrope walk along the NBC Renew / Cancel line? It was the lowest rated non-Friday scripted show on NBC last week. Unless it can move up in the coming weeks, its finally headed for cancellation."
Lots of people are already predicting the cancellation of Chuck.. i hope we don't lose this great show!

well, if the entire network is at that rating, then Chuck is fine. At least it isn't falling huge amounts.RevoDS said:In a shocking turn of events, Parenthood fell 17% yesterday...to a 2.0. All NBC shows seem to be converging towards that rating :lol
I remember hearing 5 seasons was the magic number for syndication. With a 5th season, the show would be up to 80 episodes, possibly 90+ if we get additional orders.PhoncipleBone said:If it holds steady, I think we may be fine. But if it falters and drops to a 1.8 or lower I think we are toast.
And as for the syndication idea, this show is pretty far away from being large enough for a syndication order. Only 54 episodes have aired so far, and after this current season (assuming there isn't a back 6 or 9) we will only be to 67. We would need another season before it hit syndication.
I just wonder if perhaps they could move the show to CW. It is a WB show, and the ratings are consistent. It might involve more budget cuts (how?) but it would save the show.
