Chuck versus the NeoGAF - The Official Season 4 Thread - Mondays on NBC

This episode was only ok for me. I'm just kind of sick that his mom was brought out of nowhere this season since it really felt forced. I'll probably go back and watch the first two seasons to see if things really have gotten worse or if my tastes are just changing.

brought out of nowhere? i remember that last season
Chucks father told him that he was searching for his mother during the years.. as his father died it was up to Chuck to find her[/CODE] BUT the call to chuck was a cheap way of bringing her in

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"

It's kind of a retread from the "Chuck's dad" storyline, but his dad being delusional got tiring pretty quickly.

First off, you done goofed on your spoiler tags.

Secondly, you don't need to spoiler tag information if its been in an episode that has aired on EST, except for previews at the end of the episode.

Kind of a gray area, but I tagged it for those that want it that way.

Meh, I just didn't know, and I am usually alright with reading the interviews and everything. Your thread man, you make the decisions on it and all.

OMG great episode!

Robert Englund was fantastic as a Freddy Krueger lite and the Batman Begins/Scarecrow rip off

Sarah Connor was ok

And bonus points for using a song by Stars - "Dead Hearts" at the end

What is number one? I always see links to the voting page, but never results. And I thought Supernatural was #2, or at least their twitter feed says so.
Most people have been saying that Supernatural overtook Chuck at #1.
Unless everything is #2 just to incite fans to vote more.
Haha, wouldn't surprise me.

Well, the Supernatural twitter feed, along with some of the stars' twitter feeds, have been on top of telling people to go vote.

I have only seen a few remarks from Zach Levi and Josh Gomez on their feeds.

I didn't get that, but I'm still sure they're referencing Wright.
I think that is a stretch. If his last name was Willright, then yes I would think it was a reference. But Wheelwright is off just enough.

Is this going to be the trend... Cast guest stars who have to have a strong reference to their past glories?

Cant they cast a guest star and have them do something completely original?

It has been a trend since the beginning. Or at least play up what we know of the guest star. That is why they work so well. We dont need much back story on the guest characters because of past work they have done is associated with them now.

It's a small thing, but nice to see a variety of locations and the whole cast in this week's episode.

I realize that part of the reason Chuck is still on the air is that it's cheap, but I feel like the budget cut from Season 3 has significantly hampered my enjoyment of the show. Seems like the writers and crew have to make too many compromises. Cut down action scenes, less music, bad green screen, and bottle episodes like Cubic Z. Sometimes it works out fine, like that gunfight scene in dark from the premiere, but it would be great if NBC could give it some more a slight budget increase. Yeah I know thats not going to happen, and I'll try not to think of it so much.

Episode 4.12 is titled “Chuck vs. the Gobbler”. It will probably air in January, and despite the title it isn't the Thanksgiving episode.

The early word on next Monday's installment:

Next weeks "Chuck" is very good. Show's strongest use of a guest star in a long time.

Just watched next week's episode of Chuck. Very fun, with lots of nicely crafted tension. And quite a few twists.

Should we expect less of Dalton? Excited to see that slasher on this show.

Are they doing anything to actually limit voting, or is it going to come down to what show's fans have the most free time?

And I am really looking forward to Dalton's upcoming guest spots.
Nope. The rules specifically said you can vote as many times as you want.

It's better than when the page first went up, there's a CAPTCHA on the vote page. The first one was literally an invitation to script voting, with the result ending up to which show's fans had coded the best script.

Still better then the crazy pants shit Adam Baldwin twitters about.
True. And at least Levi is being honest. I think. I genuinely liked Rob Liefeld when I was younger, but when I got to teenage years I realized how bad he was.

I stopped following all actors and athletes on Twitter recently - just wasn't worth the aggravation.

A few are rather good to follow. Steve Martin is pretty consistent and funny, and never devolves into political talk or whatnot. Michael McKean is funny as well, although there is a lot of politics.

Neil Gaiman always has good and interesting things as well.

I added the official synopsis for Episode 4.08, Chuck versus the Fear of Death, to the OP.

Wow, they got that early today.
Not really sure I like the sound of the synopsis. The relationship drama has already become sort of played out this season, and having that be the basis of the episode (possibly two weeks in a row) doesn't sound that appealing. Still, it very well might actually be handled well and turn out better than it sounds.

Supernatural's twitter feed says that Chuck is back to second place. This is going to be a nasty fight to the end for that TV Guide cover.

Of course, how awesome would it be if they just said fuck it and put them both on the same cover?
