Amazing episode. :D This is the sort of start I wanted out of the season. And the previews for the next few weeks look awesome as well! Also, without going into spoilers, they can turn out those previews fast. One of the scenes in it was just shot a week or two ago according to Strahovski's twitter. Anyway, my general thoughts on the episode.

- I like that the Tron poster existed even back in little Chuck's room. Nice touch.

- The nods toward old actions movies were great. Starting with the Predator handshake. Chuck: "Are you flexing?"

- Morgan: "Ok, we didn't find your mom, but maybe we found a new dumpling house?"

- All of the repo man scenes were hilarious. "Got some of that chop-saki boy?"

- Chuck: "Ok, man to man talk. What are you doing in my room with baby oil?"

- The general as store manager was great. Also glad they kept Olivia Munn's guest role to what they did. She was hot, but didn't actually have to act.

- The New Ring and Michael Carmichael

- Dolph was great. "I must break you!" and "If you die, you die."

- Also glad they got the hiding the truth thing out of the way quick and
that he is going to be telling Ellie soon enough.

The only two negatives.
- Really felt that Awesome needed to be in the end of the episode.

- The actions scenes were sort of non-existent, but I imagine some of the sets blew their budget and everything else was so great that it doesn't matter.

- I didn’t like “I must break you” and “if you die, you die” Rocky IV lines – this show is usually a bit less obvious than that

While I still liked them, I do agree they were a bit more obvious then normal. But any episode that has Vandelay Industries can have a free pass or two on other references.

I felt that the Predator handshake was note-perfect for the 80's pop culture zeitgesit that this show plays homage to all the time. I was rolling over that one. "Are you flexing?" :lol

But having Dolph Lungren star in an episode for seemingly no reason but to cop a Russian accent and spout Drago-isms crosses that line for me.

Was that it for Olivia Munn? That might the most pointless role ever.

Yeah, the actor playing the role of Greta will be different every week. And honestly, do you really want her to have an expanded role? She is hot, but as I said in my earlier post, acting really isn't her strong point.

But now that the Orange Orange is gone, they really should have Sarah join the Nerd Herd. If for no other reason then to have her wear that outfit again.

Not really saying they should expand the role but the role serves no purpose. Waste of budget money.

I am really doubting they had to pay her much of anything. At least not enough that you would feel the budget hit elsewhere in the episode. The fact that she gets an "acting" role that could be leveraged to get future roles in other shows/movies is probably most of the payment.

Let's wait until further episodes to judge the "Greta" role. I'm sure the role will be more than just that when there are Buy More focused eps. They had a lot of traveling and a lot packed into the opener. I think that's why they chose Munn for this one. She's hot and they can limit the damage of her acting by the fact that she's not in it much. I would imagine they will get better Gretas (better actors) for the amount that the Greta will be utilized.

Fucking great episode.

-Everything about the sexting
-Especially Sarah
-Casey's reaction to anyone saying he misses Chuck
-Linda Hamilton executing Dolph Lundgren was a "Fuck yeah!" moment.
-For some reason, I really like Sarah and Casey's way of BASE jumping.

Negatives

-Dolph's lines were a bit too easy, though I think there were levels of cultural references (Easy: Dolph's Lines, Medium: Predator Handshake, Hard: Vandelay Industries)
-Not enough Captain Awesome, but I could say that about any Chuck episode.

Great episode. Better than last season's premiere, that's for sure.

Everything about the episode has been discussed already. Now, I wonder how Jeff and Lester will fit into the new Gov't-run Buy More...

Just started watching on the DVR, I'm 15 minutes in, and loving it so far. Don't want to read the thead to avoid spoilers, but Season 4 off to a good start so far.

LOVED the episode.
Didn't like that Chuck didn't tell Ellie, but if the preview is to be believed, that will be happening soon enough.

I noticed a poster on Chuck's wall that said "Spyware is a disease. We're the cure." And there was yet another sighting of Chuck's Halo 3 Legendary Edition helmet.

P.S. I demand more Olivia Munn in a Nerd Herd outfit. Way too hot to have that little screen time.

She looked damn good in the episode, but still annoys the hell out of me. Chuck delivered as it always does of making the women look incredible, but it doesnt change the fact that Olivia Munn sucks.
but I would not mind Olivia sucking something else

That was fun. :D Lots of what I expect from the show - 80's references, good character interaction, some action, some laughs, and a great soundtrack. So good to have Chuck back.

U LIKE? :lol

Sepinwall's positive take on the episode.

Also I forgot to mention I loved the Chuck/Morgan spy team intro at the beginning of the episode.

The music for the week.

"Howlin' For You" - The Black Keys (sexting scenes)
"We're Here to Save the Day" - The Constellations (Buy More intro)
"In Response" - Peter Wolf Crier (shootout in the living building)
"Generator First Floor" - Freelance Whales (group scene and Chuck/Ellie scene)

I was wondering what a few of those songs were..... zunepass is awesome for this kind of thing.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but Harry Dean Stanton starred in an 80s movie "Repo Man". Nice touch. :lol

I was going to comment on how old Stanton looked, but then I saw on IMBD that he was born in 1926 and now I am just impressed he is still doing TV. Someone needs to get that man some dumplings!

That was a fricking great episode. Loved every minute of it (though I was annoyed that Chuck is keeping secrets from Ellie... again).

But still, great episode. Wonder what Morgan and Chuck will do about that 46, 000 debt.

Were they using new cameras for this episode or something? Just seemed weird to me
Seemed pretty similar to me, but maybe they tweaked a few little things to make it feel like a new season.

Something tells me Chuck makes more than 46k working for the CIA. I don't think that kind of debt will be an issue.
