I think Bendis is probably just overexposed and sometimes writes the wrong books. Both his Daredevil and Ultimate Spider-Man runs are really great. He has some other good Ultimate line comics. His Avengers is mediocre. His event books are crappy.
I haven't read Alias or Powers but they're both pretty well regarded.
I would say he's a good writer, but not great.
Hickman's Avengers makes Bendis's lengthy run look much worse in retrospect.

I remember the first time I tried to draw a comic. I remember getting superfrustrated because it seemed like it would just take forever. I gave up about 8 pages in. It was pokemon fancomic. It featured a protagonist with a charizard and a red head girl sidekick except the protagonist wasn't going to be bitch made.

Ant Man: Go read it, it's a good launch to the Lang character although it's gonna be interesting once he ends up in Miami.
SHIELD #2: Odd art but Ms. Marvel and Jemma hit it off so well. It's decent.
Cap Marvel: Odd getting a comic after Christmas that takes place on Christmas, basically, shit goes down and Carol almost gets trapped but kicks ass, THE END. It's ok.

So I re-read the new issue of Batgirl, and it wssn't really that bad. But I find myself wishing Dinah was the main character. XD

DC and it's trade release schedule is a thing of beauty.
I don't know much about absolutes as I don't buy them but they tend to be really popular and highly regarded books and Frank Quitely stuff.

Similar, absolutely. Takes place in Germany during the 14th century. I would say it's better though.
Pretty much if it's Jim Lee, Tim Sale, or Frank Quitely on art, chances are good that it'll get an Absolute, regardless of popularity or quality (that "regardless of popularity or quality" part is mostly in regards to Absolutes with Jim Lee on art). Also, if it's an Alan Moore classic, it'll get an Absolute.
But basically it's up to the whims of DC.

It's fucking stellar dude. At $10 and only 6 volumes released so far with next to no knowledge that it exists (yet), it's an awesome time to jump in. I'm not going to spoil it, but you definitely get to witness the realities and the sort of perseverance that is needed to eventually overthrow a tyrannical kingdom.
And about my brother...he is the nerdy looking one. I look like a jock. It should be the other way around but our interests are switched. He does own all of the Transformers Masterpiece figures though...so there's that. Still can't get him to read MTMTE though. He says that "G1 is all that matters."
Another advantage to digital. Helps you break promises to loved ones.
