Bonus banana-face/mega-chin Batman:

I've got a little booze in me and I'm on a roll, so if you have any requests, fire away.

Superman #33 was great. I feel like it had more character development than the book has had since it rebooted.

Then again, I'm a sucker for Johns's Superman.

Well here's Velvet. Unfortunately besides the little streak of white hair, Velvet doesn't really have any very distinguishable characteristics, so my drawing doesn't look particularly velvety.

Edit: Uuuh. Just realized I forgot to erase the line from her torso where her arm overlaps it. Deal with it, I guess. Too hard to erase and re-upload.

It's Quitely impersonation time.

Daredevil #6...

It's not what it looks like. I don't want to believe that Waid is the kind of writer who
would do that to Matt's father and hero, his Uncle Ben, his Jonathan Kent; so it's gotta be a misdirect, and there's more going on in that scene than what Matt remembers or could even understand at that age.

I'm not sure if it's Miller who introduces it, but Jack Murdock has been depicted as recently as that (great) mini by Wells/di Giandomencio as not only emotionally abusive but also physically abusive at least once to Matt. It's not necessarily out of character for someone who's a man with certain admirable principles and at the same time a bad father/partner.

I noticed they're slowly undoing everything Lobdell did on his run basically.
Lois is working at the Daily Planet, and not a green psychic, Looks like Cat and Clark are giving up their catclark.com shit and going back to the Planet. There were some other things, specially the personality and character development. Superman isn't just a robot any more.

You guys are too much sometimes. We arent supposed to be dogging on him anymore.

To be fair, I'm a huge Quitely fan.

...I just can't pass up an opportunity like that though.

Oh! And your Six Gun Gorilla is starting now. That one'll probably take me a tiny bit longer since I haven't drawn a gorilla before.

Six Gun Gorilla, and for the first time, not false advertising.

Making full use of those opposable thumbs to hold all six revolvers.

Prooobably should've drawn it at a different angle because that ended up being kind of confusing. But oh well.
Also, those revolvers are way too tiny. I'm ashamed.

Edit: Oh, and guys, I'm out of requests. I need more or I'll die.

I'm bored, so I decided to draw Quitely Superman as well. I don't have a scanner or fancy tablet, so mine had to be made in MS Paint using a laptop trackpad.

Anyone have any suggestions for good comics with high quality art and a good story? Preferably something I'd have heard of (famous characters). I've read some of the ultra violent Punisher stuff which I liked, and I enjoyed a few of the Wolverine shorts.

"Fury MAX: My War Gone By" by Garth Ennis and Goran Parlov.

Garth Ennis (Punisher MAX, Preacher) and Goran Parlov (Punisher MAX) reunite to bring you the life of Marvel's hardest soldier like no one else could. In the wake of World War II, Fury is fast running out of battles to fight. But the world's superpowers are gearing up for a new kind of war and they'll need a man like Fury to win it.

That Cameron Stewart Shazam stuff is straight up amazing. I totally forgot he was doing an issue of Multiversity.

The Pax Americana issue sounds fantastic:

Pax Americana is next, which "is our take on the Chalton characters - which plays into Watchmen. Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons initially started a story on them, but went into the analogues. So we thought wouldn't it be interesting to take some of the characters and put them into the modern era. It's not the same story as Watchmen; we wanted to take those techniques and reinvent them. We start with the Peace sign on fire instead of the smiley face with blood on it. The cover serves as the first page of the story, and is all about why the Peacemaker assassinated the president of the United States. It goes backwards through time to tell the story.

Morrison and Frank Quitely use an eight-panel grid for the story, as a take-off of the 9-panel grid for Watchmen.

Some Q & A stuff

Fan Q&A Summary: No Animal-Mans in this multiverse set of stories. Some throwaway Batmans who only appeared in a panel or two of old stories in the 70s will appear on specific Earths now. President Superman and Captain Carrot lead the "Multiversal team," and Grant's proud there's "only one straight white guy on the whole team" (that's that Multiversity #1 cover). Flashpoint and the other revisions are addressed in the Guidebook, where "all of the history becomes true." "There's a lot that are Elseworlds, like the Justice Riders. I thought it'd be more fun to tie those into the history of DC's Western characters, so Johnny Thunder is a Shazam, and Tomahawk is Tomahawkman - we changed them into Superheroes. They're all riding steampunk horses. There's nothing that's specifically a "pre-52" universe, but a lot of stories that will remind you of comics you used to read."

Quitely Superman:

His outfit's got so many wrinkles, it might as well be made of linen.

Hahahahaha! You should hit Rafa up with a PM brah, he's looking for up and coming artists. You can be the next two Young Guns, and the first from Comics-GAF.

So hello everyone! A couple days ago, I posted about my first ever comic book purchases and today I made my second. Entering the world of comics has been kind of nerve-wracking actually because I am entering a world with such a vast history and I really did not know where to start.

Last Saturday, I picked up Robin Rises, Grayson #1, and Red Hood and the Outlaws #33

Today, I picked up:

New:
-Batman and Robin #33 (alternate cover, original was sold out)
-Superman #33 (alternate cover because I love Batman)
-Flash #33 (alternate cover) - I picked this up because Flash has always been one of my favorite superheroes and I didn't know where to start so I figured might as well [plus Batman]

Then I went diving into the Bargain Bin.

Clearance:

DC:
-Batman #18 (Requiem)
-Batman: Detective Comics #18 (Requiem)
-Batman Incorporated #8-9 (R.I.P. and Requiem)
-Teen Titans #16 (Death of the Family)

Marvel:
-Captain America #600
-House of M: Book 1 of 6
-AvX Round 1
-Fear Itself Book One

I was going to pick up Ms. Marvel, Daredevil, and Ultimate Spiderman because I've read good things about all of them but could not find all the issues of those series even if they are still early in. Daredevil was missing 3-4, Ms Marvel 1-4, and Ultimate #1

Let me know what you guys think and if you have any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated!

You're doing good so far! Really, when you are just diving in, you really are best checking out what looks interesting to you to let yourself dabble. Looks like you've got yourself the making of some Damian love. Why not explore more of that? Pick up the Batman and Robin #18 Requiem to round those out then go back and get the rest of New 52 Batman and Robin by Tomasi, as well as the pre New 52 Batman and Robin by Morrison.

Haha, awesome! :D

So much DC awesomeness.

It seems that Snyder has been hitting them burgers while Moz has been hitting the gym!

And that second photo - damn this guys look tiny, they're barly taller than Lee.

Everything about Multiversity sounds like the best thing ever. I loved Morrison's take on the Multiverse in Final Crisis and this will be even more epic and crazy. Can't wait, gonna buy single issues!

I'm still very interested in the origins of this pronunciation.

I asked my Palestinian coworker and he said it is pronounced Rrr' ahss. Slight pause after the R, followed by ahss.

Rache came from the show. Why they chose it is beyond me. I can personally use either.
