Can someone here say something to the Carnage & Hobgoblin Axxis Tie-In?

I picked up Hobgoblin #1 because of Javier Rodriguez and he straight up murders the book. It looks fantastic. Just love the dude's style and layout. The book itself ended up being a lot of fun, following Hobgoblin try to figure out this "good" thing, but still turn a profit. I'm not reading Axis and I'm only kind of aware of the inversion, but I was never confused. The book does pick up some threads from the end of Superior Spiderman, so if you didn't read Goblin Nation, you might be a bit lost.

Damn that looks schway. Didn't pick it up because I got burned too many times by their tie in minis. Especially for Infinity.

Think Km gonna drop Lazarus. Book is just not going anywhere.

They're both leagues ahead of the main Axis books. They're both just plain fun- seeing the new takes on Hobgoblin and Carnage are both really entertaining, funny and a neat take on the characters. Hobgoblin has some ties to the greater Spider-Man universe in the sense that it touches on the status quo of the Goblins post-Superior that implies it may go somewhere that will matter later, but they're both really just good time popcorn books.

I actually really liked Carnage. Definitely didn't take itself too seriously and works well with the character's latest attitude change while staying true to his self.
The art is great with a style that definitely works with the ever-changing character design and the story looks like it's going to be a fun one for sure.
With AXIS, I can safely recommend the side-stories more than the main comic.

Thirded about tie ins better so far. I'm a Carnage fan, admittedly, so maybe that's why I liked it more than Hobgoblin. But I still liked Hobby. Carnage trying to do good but not quite nailing it works well. Hobby, idk enough about this particular dude, so the character just seems diluted to me. Add to that the fact that he got swapped out from Greengob, I dunno how much development there was there.

They're almost like the Marvel solo hero books except rooted in an event and a planned limited run. (as opposed to an expected one).

The weird universe we're in is the one where Slott is doing a better event than Remender.

Gotham Academy 2 is more like what I was expecting. "Olive" some more of that. I'm gonna miss Abominable Charles Christopher cuz Karl K is gonna be busy with this one for awhile.

Grayson: Future's End #1 - Well, I'm glad you all convinced me to pick up "Grayson: Future's End". Fantastic book. Loved the story structure.

Grayson #4 - Not as interesting of an issue coming from the last issue, but very fun.
Trying to figure out if Helena actually knows that Dick is the spy or not. What she said makes it seem like she doesn't actually know, but it is still somewhat ambiguous.

I keep seeing the covers for Gotham Academy and I want to pick it up. The art is cute and the premise is neat. I like books that aren't directly about the super heroes. Speaking of that, I need to read Gotham PD at some point.

Even knowing that there was something cool about the book's story structure it was still an amazing read; Now just imagine reading it blind, having no idea what was happening and then having it suddenly click.

As for Gotham Academy, it seems like an adorably charming book that holds a lot of promise.

read Bucky #1, very iffy on the book. I like Kot's plotting and dialogue but the page layouts seem muddled together in a way that i'm not enjoying the actual reading of the book.

Edit: ^^^^^ How did i forget a random score? Random 7/10

Yeah I like the art itself but it wasn't quite what I was expecting, and it kinda made it harder to read through than I felt it should be. I guess I'll have to see where the arc is headed but as of issue #1 I feel like it could have used someone more traditional on art duties...

I feel like Marco Rudy would be a perfect fit for a Dr Strange book. Not so much on a winter soldier book which seems more of a straightforward book.

Absolutely. I think the art didn't fit at all in Winter Soldier. It made it quite hard to read/follow. That said he would be perfect for Strange.

Clearly, I'm wrong and do yourself a favor and stop reading solicitations in case you don't want to be spoiled.

What are your thoughts on the end of Futures End 23 with the Brother Eye foreshadowing? It foreshadows everything that could happen over the next 17 issues. Watch this turn into the Days of the Future Past universe.

If the end of this series doesn't end with a complete retcon of the dark future explained in issue 0 then I quit all future DC crossovers. Is there any chance of a Batman Beyond origins series?

Yeah, I have not been paying attention to solicit text, just looking at covers.
As far as your question, that is something my brain has not really thought about. I guess I have not tried to figure things out much as I'm still fairly new to comics and don't know what to expect from big events like these. This is why I would like to discuss it as I like other people's insight. So thank you.

I cut too many books, maybe? smallest DCBS order so far:

specials:
Multiversity Handbook
Uncanny Avengers #1

DC: Batman, Grayson, Justice League, Superman -combo versions

Marvel: Cap, Avengers, Bucky, Daredevil, New Avengers, Rocket , Secret Avengers, Thor

Image: East of West, Walking Bread, Wicked and Divine.

Things that didn't make the cut:

Trying to kill the industry by trade waiting after buying the first issue of most:
Dying and the Dead
Rumble
Casanova Acedia
They're Not Like Us
Secret Six

Dropped Ms. Marvel, She Hulk, and Silver Surfer, will read them on MU eventually.

Maybe Batman and Robin #38 but i'd most likely just drop it after a few issues anyways so why bother now.

Also probably skipping the Hawkeye Omnibus since i have the first OHC vol.

Trimmed my pull list and now I have more money to spend on new series as well as my other hobbies, though some books I've resorted to trade waiting. And with all the Marvel teasers for summer 2015, I'm in a good position to expand my list before then.

I finally got around to hanging some of the Olly Moss 5x5s I had. They've been framed for a few months but didn't get around to them until now. They're currently situated in the hallway.

I look forward to Hickman showcasing each of these new worlds in tiny panels with no detail. This Secret Wars novel will rival Infinity.
