That new Deadpool book by David/Koblish/Staples was pretty fun, I'm in for the full mini. Koblish is underrated as heck, and the coloring is dope

If Suicide Squad is based on Ostrander and not N52 it could be great.
Given the direction of the SS stuff lately plus David Ayer, no chance

That's pretty but I think I have enough harley statues. Even canceled my order for the Joker/harley dancing one. I'm starting to look like the obsessive fan to people outside of here :/

Is this real life? Internet blink twice if you're being forced this.

At least tell me that you're still reading Injustice, which basically stars Harley as a semi-main character.

I don't know if I could do a top three, I love so many

I'd say Geoff John's Green Lantern saga, Remender's X-Force, and Hickman's Fantastic Four.

I'm really liking Justice League right now-am I wrong for rooting for Lex and thinking he's legitimately trying to do the right thing, and the League is in the wrong here?

Yeah but I am just way behind at this point.

Sometimes you got to draw a line on the statues. Even for a bit.

I don't feel good :(

I finally got my copy of Wytches this week. My comic guy said that when he called Diamond, they said they didn't have anymore copies, so he went with the nuclear option... He had this one particular woman who also works there call them. After that, they managed to find more copies in one of their warehouses. XD

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
So Ultimate Spider-Man jumped the shark?

LOL@ stupid Spoiler. Based Bendis. Dude should stop writing comics.

Ultimate Spider-Man jumped the shark when Bendis clearly ran out of steam with too many Ultimate events shitting up his ongoing plot threads (the irony of course being that Bendis now gets to do that to everyone else in 616!). He just managed to recoup the book from the Ultimatum shitfest, but not for long, and I'd say the exact shark jump was when the Ultimates were putting Parker through "Super Hero School".

Ultimate Peter Parkers death then got wrapped up in a crap event comic that left him weakened and all the people supposed to have his back fucking off into nowhere, and Osborn just gets to murder him in the street. It was an emotional issue, but it was still chumpsville. "At least I saved Aunt May possibly!" is not a 'oh wow' hero death accomplishment.

Miles Morales has been a total non-starter, and its because Origin Stories are ill-suited to Bendis' now absurd levels of decompression nonsense. Miles was in Peter's shadow throughout, a bit of a wuss, and even worse was given an absolutely ridiculous OHKO power. Gives up being Spider-Man for a longer period than he ever actually was due to more ongoing Ultimate bullshit, and timeskips his way through high school and back into being Spider-Man because everyone thinks he's so awesome and amazing and the main character.

Fast forward to now when Ultimate Peter is (seemingly) back in action, and he's still doing this amateurish "LOOK HOW AMAZING MILES' VENOM BLAST IS" while Peter actually stands by and does jack-shit (He's escorting the women to safety!!).

Bendis as a Marvel writer these days strikes me as someone completely lacking direction and just treading water/in a holding pattern. Whatever big twist or outcome isn't done particularly well (Cyclops talks down worlds most powerful dangerous mutant where psychics fails because He Is The Main Character!!), and its all just stretched out for the pay-cheques rolling in. Guess you can't blame the guy.

God, the DC/WB movie announcements have me really thinking about cape movies in general, and it's going to be absolutely nuts... Marvel will soon have 3 releases a year, DC will have 2, Fox will likely have 2-3 (between X-Men, FF & Spidey), and you know there will be a few released from other studios looking to get in on the action. Before this bubble inevitably pops, we'll likely be getting a cape movie almost EVERY MONTH. Think about that for a second...

I'm really new to comics, currently reading edge of spider verse...just finished #5...what the fuck did I just read...

Aside from that I' d like some recommendations.
Currently reading amazing spider, ultimate spider, edge of spider, batman and batgirl.(Although all my DC stuff are volumes rather than issues) I have 0 connection to the old shit, oldest I have is long Halloween and while I'm enjoying it so far, I wish the art was more modern.

I enjoyed all new and uncanny as well as uncanny avenegers, but stopped. Are those things I should continue back on?

Well Uncanny Avengers just ended so no point in going back to that. Are there particular superheroes you prefer over others?

What about independent comics? Image offers a wide selection of titles if you'd be willing to take a dip there.

By all mean, catch-up with All-New and Uncanny X-Men. I've still been enjoying both of those books. There are a bunch of Bendis-haters around here, but don't let that dissuade you.

If you want more Spider books, you should try out the current Spider-Man 2099 series. It's only five issues in now and it's been pretty solid every month. Scarlet Spider by Chris Yost was great and leads into the current New Warriors series which is also good. The Superior Foes of Spider-Man has been amazing so far and requires no prior knowledge to enjoy.

Hawkeye by Matt Fraction and Daredevil by Mark Waid are both worth checking out even if you know nothing of either character. Easy to get into and they're good comics.

For DC ongoings, Grayson and Superman (starting with #32) are consistently great. For trades, you can't go wrong with All-Star Superman or Power Girl: Power Trip.

How hard would it be to make a little website where you could answer 6 - 12 questions about your comic book reading preferences and it would spit out recommendations? I could totally write the question/answer stuff but don't know how to code.

If you want something different from cape books, check out Zero and Manhattan Projects from Image. Here's my love letter to Manhattan Projects from a few months back, it apparently got some people to check out the series.

Spider man and batman are my favorite solo guys. I enjoy the humor out of amazing, and I really like the tone and feel of batman. I like team up stuff as well, X-men, avengers and Green Lantern Corps are cool. I think I might prefer my DC stuff to be in volumes and my marvel in single issues.

My friend tried to loan me punk rock Jesus and chew...can't get into that stuff. I want to read conic books for superheroes, not whatever those were. I found first issues of saga was meh...not interested

Thanks for the other rec's guys. Hawkeye art looks dope, maybe I'll look into that after class.

Read the entirety of Geoff Johns Green Lantern run, it starts with Rebirth and ends with Wrath of the First Lantern.

I forgot about that! I remember comixology had a sale on GL and that was the first thing I bought. I have until Blackest night. Is brightest day good as well?

Creamium

shut uuuuuuuuuuuuuuup
I came across this in Bendis' Daredevil and thought that last line sounded familiar, and yep, True Detective used it. What a powerful moment, but even better was when he
visited Silke in prison
Been a while since I've been so addicted to a series, just burning through the issues.

Skip the actual Brightest Day comic, it was a decent read but all the interesting story beats it introduced were wiped away by the New 52. Green Lantern continues unabated and despite what Birdie said had a fantastic finale that could have ended the series and not just Johns run.

I once again side with Tim. The new 52 gets a little bogged down in some events but his final ending was so strong I wondered if I should bother reading any more GL. A perfect finale

Speaking of Brightest Day, what was about Gail Simone's second Birds of Prey run that got everyone so soured?

Cool thanks for saving me some $ lol
Also do Green Lantern and GL Corps take place during the same time? Is there like a super detailed reading order of all the GL stuff?

Honestly, it just wasn't that good.
I don't remember if there was any kind of controversy or anything, it was just kind of bland and unnecessary. The only story that I even remember was Huntress and Catman finally going on a date.

So I went to the comic book store and I got so ahead of myself I locked myself out of my car. I had to stay there for a while and I found a ridiculous deal on the first HC volume of Locke & Key for $10. I got home late and saw that my package for Zero arrived.

So hype!

All the GL books are taking place at the same time. Here's a reading list based on trades:

http://www.readingorders.com/Collections/GreenLantern

From that skip all three volumes of Brightest Day, Green Lantern Emerald Warriors, and once the New 52 stuff begins skip all of Red Lanterns (it was terrible). You can also skip all of the volume 3 books and read the Rise of the Third Army and Wrath of the First Lantern collections instead as they collect everything from those third volumes.
